My brothers and I love watching your videos as it reminds us of our dad who came from Mexico with nothing. Worked hard, got married and started a family. Bought a house quit his factory job and started his landscaping business. He grew it fairly large and had several crews by the time he retired. Next month will be 4 years of his passing. I miss working for my dad but time goes on and I see you two and I see the happy days my siblings and I had with him. Thank you.

They are angels on Earth!❤ I'm old, and I've lived off-grid for 17 years in a very remote, rural location. I haven't been able to take trash to the dump since I paid a crook to fix my truck, but he took my money and ran after making my truck completely inoperable. It was running before he worked on it. My ex left his junk "project" cars and trucks here when he left me for his coworker he swore he wasn't sleeping with. Technically true, as "sleeping" wasn't the issue. I looked into having a dumpster brought here for me to fill with trash, but they want a minimum of $1200, I'm poor, on disability, and if I had that money I could hire a REAL mechanic to fix my truck! I chuckled a little when the jerk mentioned "chivos". That is how I control brush and weeds on my property... I have a herd of the most darling goats who are weed-eaters who don't require gasoline or electricity! Most of the videos on my channel are shorts of my "kids".

I've read all of the comments about what they thought about this guy. Both of you stumbling on something then that really struck home. Why else was he covering up his house with all of the sick foliage and all of the grass and leaves and garbage out in front of his house. There was a sidewalk there and that didn't allow people to walk all the more suspicious activity as far as I'm concerned. Maybe you can call up City violations and then they can check up on him a fine
My wife and I watch a lot of different mowing videos and we believe that ANYONE that refuses free lawn service is either refusing for this very reason of hiding something OR it’s also a possibility that a small minority may have promised a family member or friend that they would pay them to transform it, however I would say that scenario is probably far and few between!

A derelict house is the perfect place for stashing drugs. You guys almost got him busted. 😈 For future reference, Daniel, the public sidewalk is PUBLIC. Home owners do not own the sidewalk. The strip of ground between the sidewalk and the street is known as the "road verge." Home owners do not own that, either. Both are owned by the public, a.k.a. the city. Most municipalities -- cities, towns, villages, etc. -- have ordinances (laws) that require the home owner to maintain these pieces of public property -- which is where most of the "fines" come into play -- but that DOES NOT give them ownership of the sidewalk, or verge. These ordinances may require them to do the watering, mowing, edging, trimming/pruning, weeding and snow shoveling of these areas, all of which is considered, under the law, to be "community service." But, it doesn't give them ownership. So, you guys weren't actually "on his property" until you entered the gate. Just so you know, for the future. You guys do great work.
That is what I thought. Seems like the city or country would keep the sidewalks done. I'll bet this jerk is not the property owner. Could be a squatter and up to no good.
As I mentioned, within the law, it is considered "community service" and IS required of all home owners. This is where the fines come in. Once it becomes "extreme," the city WILL send someone to do it . . . and then they will send the home owner a hefty bill. Any lawn care service will be much cheaper than the bill the city will send you. and then, you will STILL be required to pay the fines. Very expensive, indeed. Mwahahahahahaha!
Here in Central Iowa it's called either the car park or a nature strip. We do own it and have to keep it looking nice, and pay taxes on it, but the city likes to believe it belongs to them, lol. That said the sidewalk, while it is on our property is considered public right of way and must be kept up, including the removal of mud during floods, and snow and ice in the winter, and we're require to fix any damaged concrete.

In my experience -- I'm pushing seventy -- most people pay no attention to local matters, a.k.a. "city hall." So you might want to check, occasionally. You never know when the law in your town might change. Maybe they didnt own it, but now they do. No idea. 🤷♂ Keep on top of it. 🍻

I've read all of the comments about what they thought about this guy. Both of you stumbling on something then that really struck home. Why else was he covering up his house with all of the sick foliage and all of the grass and leaves and garbage out in front of his house. There was a sidewalk there and that didn't allow people to walk all the more suspicious activity as far as I'm concerned. Maybe you can call up City violations and then they can check up on him a fine

My wife and I watch a lot of different mowing videos and we believe that ANYONE that refuses free lawn service is either refusing for this very reason of hiding something OR it’s also a possibility that a small minority may have promised a family member or friend that they would pay them to transform it, however I would say that scenario is probably far and few between!

For future reference, Daniel, the public sidewalk is PUBLIC. Home owners do not own the sidewalk. The strip of ground between the sidewalk and the street is known as the "road verge." Home owners do not own that, either. Both are owned by the public, a.k.a. the city.
Most municipalities -- cities, towns, villages, etc. -- have ordinances (laws) that require the home owner to maintain these pieces of public property -- which is where most of the "fines" come into play -- but that DOES NOT give them ownership of the sidewalk, or verge. These ordinances may require them to do the watering, mowing, edging, trimming/pruning, weeding and snow shoveling of these areas, all of which is considered, under the law, to be "community service." But, it doesn't give them ownership.
So, you guys weren't actually "on his property" until you entered the gate. Just so you know, for the future.

As I mentioned, within the law, it is considered "community service" and IS required of all home owners. This is where the fines come in. Once it becomes "extreme," the city WILL send someone to do it . . . and then they will send the home owner a hefty bill. Any lawn care service will be much cheaper than the bill the city will send you. and then, you will STILL be required to pay the fines. Very expensive, indeed. Mwahahahahahaha!
Here in Central Iowa it's called either the car park or a nature strip. We do own it and have to keep it looking nice, and pay taxes on it, but the city likes to believe it belongs to them, lol. That said the sidewalk, while it is on our property is considered public right of way and must be kept up, including the removal of mud during floods, and snow and ice in the winter, and we're require to fix any damaged concrete.

In my experience -- I'm pushing seventy -- most people pay no attention to local matters, a.k.a. "city hall." So you might want to check, occasionally. You never know when the law in your town might change. Maybe they didnt own it, but now they do. No idea. 🤷♂

The only logical reason for such a reaction was that he thought he was being hustled & going to be left with a bill, but no excuse for such rudeness or such an aggressive approach to people he should be thanking. Rather than clapping his hands he could have been picking up some of that litter himself 👿 The only clapping of hands should have been for the amazing job you'd done on such a neglected area, that 100% needed some attention. 👏🏻 & bravo at the work you do, often with little or no thanks!
