@@WarPaintOffroad sure bud you're killing it
@@bassment03 working on it. Just trying to grow the UA-cam so I can continue to give back and do more stuff. But it’s getting there.
Hey Dan, once again great content. A little suggestion, don't worry about your videos being too long. You opted not to show the carrier in the vice, but if the viewer thinks the content is too simplistic, they can just skip ahead or fast forward the video. Your content is amazing, the more you show, the more relevant your content becomes.
Thanks Pete! Love to hear the advice. I appreciate the suggestions. Always looking for ways to make them better.
Very informative 😎 one bite at a time
Heck yea! Step by step!
BAD ASSSS!!!!!!!!! This is such great information.. I learn some S**T everytime I watch!!
Thanks buddy! I appreciate that. Tomorrow’s pinion set up video will be good for people. It basically takes what makes the D60 so confusing and simplifies it. Just wait until I put leaf springs under the rig and get coilover flex! Going to be so cool.
Where did you find the torch holder?
Tbh I don’t remember. But I’d bet you could find one on Amazon. I have had that for probably 10 years.
Is it better to install/weld the truss before the gear install?
The only reason I would say no….is because it’s easier to drill the housing and install the air line fitting before the truss is on. But have it handy to determine where to drill or how to drill and notch the truss. I’ll be doing another set of axles soon here and going into all of that in detail.
What about inner axle seals? Will they get torched with preheating the cast?
Once again, really well done! A ton of info that will help and guide anyone to take a job like this on. I've got two constructive comments... 1. When you knock the pinion seal off, use a chisel instead of a screw driver. They are sharp, which will help get under the edge, they won't get damaged, and it will be easier. 2. Use RTV to lube the inner seals into the tubes; they slide right in and any imperfections get sealed up. Awesome job presenting a LOT of highly technical information. You are diving into stuff that no-one has done before on the www.
Great tips! And I love the idea of the RTV on the seals! I never thought of doing them like that! Great idea! Thanks for the support! The video on Thursday is going to be really good. As you know the pinion isn’t the easiest to set up. Especially the aftermarket pinion which gets depth shims on the other side of the inner bearing. So it gets a little complicated. But I think o explained it in a very simple way. Time will tell. Thanks again.
@@WarPaintOffroad You're welcome and I look forward to it.
@@WarPaintOffroad As I'm sure you know, setup bearings make life much easier for trial and error.
@@TomSmith-nx3hx oh yea. That is in part 2.
Best explanation video ive seen yet!!! Thanks
Thank you! I hope it helps. I made this because there are some others but they don’t explain it all that well. I am currently in the process of building a frame from scratch. That will be a fun one. Should be out in a couple weeks.
You have some of the best how to videos on
UA-cam when it comes working on JK installs.
Thanks Candy! I have been doing it a long time. Just working in building the UA-cam channel and trying to give back. This jeep will be put on super flexy leaf spring suspension. It’s going to be reall wild getting coilover flex out of leaf springs.
