    The knowledge this guy is giving us for free is insane. Tiny things like keeping that tip a bit black is game changer if u dont wanna roll the tip. Keep the good work!

    Great job. Love how easy those Spyderco tips are to keep pointy. Some tips come so terrible from other knife makers that it’s nearly impossible to fix.

    Good video i would love to see a video of how to sharpen something with a big drop point even just an opinel on a fixed system. To keep a nice belly.

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  4 місяці тому +1

      Thanks brother! The trick to keeping the belly nice is to keep the stone moving and let the stone follow the blade same way I was describing here! As long as you do that you won’t get any flat spots or loose the belly!

    Team no choil here too! I recently took the plunge into a tsprof, i have a lot to learn. Thank you for sharing.

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  4 місяці тому +3

      Hell yeah, that’s the only way to go if you do alot of cutting! I understand the point of the sharpening choil and they are super easy to add but the pros don’t outweigh the cons. Makes it easier to sharpen but creates a spot for material to snag and get caught… to me it’s a nuisance and makes me really not enjoy cutting with the knife!

    this is awesome info man. would love to see a video in the future on how to reprofile/fix an uneven Seki City factory edge, lately my past few Seki guys have arrived with really wonky bevels :/

      That’s awesome brother, happy to hear it! As far as channel stickers go, Patreon members and sharpening customers get them. You can also buy stickers one, it’s like $3 each or something. Just hmu on IG 👊🏼😄

    Got a question. First, thanks for the vids, I know it's work and time consuming getting all this filmed, much appreciated, wish you did more sharpening vids but I'll just enjoy what you give 🤪. So, I notice you are using the K03 Single Clamp and when you clamp the blade (on most your vids I've seen) you are clamping in the middle, not near the handle where you have a flat spot. By clamping in the middle, don't you run the risk of having a different dps on both sides ? How do you keep the flat grind from rocking ? By clamping on the flat spot of the blade near the pivot/handle, I would think it would be more accurate dps on both sides. Am I correct ? I'm asking cause I want to know, not criticizing your work. Trying to learn. Maybe a quick vid on clamping and how/why you do it on a flat grind.

    How long did it take you to reprofile the shaman? Good tips.

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  4 місяці тому +3

      Too long 😂 lol but idk since I have worked on it on and off but if I had to guess it was over an hour. Not all of that time was to get it apexed though. It took awhile to apex but I spent a good amount of time refining the profile and trying to get everything as even and symmetrical as possible. I never rush through a sharpening job, especially not when reprofiling because thats the foundation and you can’t get a solid edge with a poor foundation!

    • @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL
      @BLADESANDFADESOFFICIAL  4 місяці тому +2

      Thanks! And yeah I actually do still use it pretty often! All depends what im doing. For heavy reprofiling the tsprof has clear advantages but for lighter duty sharpening I still love the KME

    Ive got the kme system. I’m trying to sharpen my zt0552 but it has a bevel on the rear of the blade and I’m having trouble trying to keep it clamped in with out it moving. Any tips?.

    • @shaunc9432
      @shaunc9432 4 місяці тому

      Also iv spent over two-three hours re-profiling one side to 18’ I’m using the 50 grit and it just feels like it’s skating over the blade. I’ll add that I clean it regularly. Use almost no pressure due to the blade not being able to lock down properly.
