I did an NLP course. I watched as Bandler put three volunteers into a hypnotic trance. One of the insolent volunteers piped up saying he didn’t feel anything or words to that effect to which Bandler very aggressively told him to ‘shut up’. When I asked another volunteer if she had actually been hypnotised she said no but played along. This is what hypnosis really is - just playing along.

For some yes, for others no, The interesting point is some people think they've been hypnoties when they haven't, and other don't think they've been hypnotised when they have. The test is can they do something that they wouldn't be able to do normally (eg solve difficult problems, have teeth extracted without anaestetic etc). I look at it that being able to be hypnotised is a great skill (we just want to be careful who is doing it to who).

Have you heard of hypnobirthing? Women in labour wouldn't play along! But, hypnosis can vary.

Not bollocks, for a display of how this method is used I suggest looking up the rapid handshake inductions by Derren Brown, he's got it down to a science.

I've learnt much about NLP, hypnosis and life from him. He's teachings have helped me a lot, in many areas of life.
