Personal choice of course, but the R7 is an APS-C camera while the the R8 is full frame, so it's kind of like replacing an apple with an orange. The extra "reach" of the R7 can be very important to many photographers (such as bird photographers). Cropping in post cannot replace that reach because the R8 is only 26 megapixels, while the R7 is 32 (about 80 in a full frame equivalent). This means the croppability of the R7 allows for even more "reach". Of course, in many applications none of this matters. The R8 is an entry, or near entry level, ff camera, while the R7 is Canon's top APS-C.
@@alansach8437 thank you for watching the video. You are right that for the wildlife photography R7 is a much better buy and I did mention in the beginning of my video that it completely depends on your use that which one will be better for you. I was mainly using R7 for video and it had some features missing which are available in R8 that’s why I replaced R7 with R8. Either full frame or cropped, they are both tools to take pictures and record videos, which ever is more suitable for your use case that’s a best camera for you. Before even giving my reasons of replacement, I mentioned all those areas where R7 is better than R8 😊
Thanks for an amazing video I think for me R8 is a best option
@@laeeq84 best of luck with R8, thanks for watching
@@EhtashamAnwar looking forward for new stuff
R7 has 4k fine which is oversampled from 7k. It is very good. Not sure why you are talking about line skipped 4k here.
@@RogerZoul yes R7 has 4k fine only in 24/24p not in 50/60p. In 50/60p it is line kipped, when recoding using full censor width.
@@EhtashamAnwar Thanks.
I kept watching Prime for a price drop on the EOS R6 Mk II but never saw a change :(
@@lanep4322 that was a lightning deal and all got sold out within an hour. Best of luck, keep checking, you will find a good deal on next prime day or on Black Friday
Wow amazing review ❤

The R8 has been hit hard by the canon cripple hammer. That battery alone is a joke...first curtain only? Canon should be ashamed!
@@Mr.Deeds. Thanks a lot for watching the video. when it comes to photography, yes for fast action, wildlife it’s not suitable but for landscape and portraits first curtain electric shutter is good enough. Video is as good as R6, other than overheating in 60p mode but again only if need it film continuously for more than 20-30 mins. You are right battery is small but for the price of the camera, it’s still an amazing buy. There is no other camera at this price point can give you 4k/60p in full frame. As I said in my video that if you can bare the shortcomings of this camera, it’s an amazing tool.
Cool run down. Enjoy!
@@mvp_kryptonite thank you
You bought a R8 for video and it has no IBIS?
@@Thisisjustatest12 ibis is not required in every situation plus when required L series rf lenses has good enough ibis
I choose a R6 mark I, is very good camera to for the price
@@MrAndresMira indeed it is, thanks for watching.
I think R8 is better for studio and low light shooting.
@@MouzamAli-l2p 💯
Nah the R7 with EF-RF adaptor and sigma 18-35 f1.8 will beat anything the R8 can do. If you dont get a overpriced RF 1.2 lens etc... ofc..
@@Tapirrr yes that’s a good combination. Thanks for watching the video
For me dual card slots are must so no no to R8
@@Budgerigar as long as it’s suitable for you. Thanks for watching
