If you properly prepare it they are actually pretty good
The problem with Chef Boyardee is that their sauce is more like tomato soup than pasta sauce
And it use to didnt be like that
The problem is that they probably use the exact same sauce for everything they make that requires red sauce, rather than making different sauces appropriate for different foods.
I've used these pizza making kit. Part of the secret is to roll it thin, only use the minimal amount of sauce and use the not Chef Boyardee Pepperoni. I put good pepperoni, a pack of fresh mushrooms, some fresh cut onion, and some Italian Sausage.
Yeah, the consensus seems to be to NOT use the pepperoni one, haha.
And spreading it out on a bigger pan would def have helped a LOT. The dough was way too thick the way I did it.
At this point just get normal pizza dough haha.

My aunt introduced me to that pizza making kit while I was about to move into my apartment. When I first started living in my apartment, that was how I made pizza. It was good and I would also make up a recipe called pizza biscuits, which was basically pizza dough with pizza topping on the inside in the shape of biscuits. Nowadays I actually make the pizza dough from scratch with a couple recipes from my family and I even make my own sauce (it’s a lot more fun that way). Here are my advices for making Chef Boyardee pizza.
1. Use one pouch when the recipe calls for the water and oil, otherwise you need to double the recipe if you’re using two pouches.
2. Add some garlic salt to your pizza. It gives it more flavor.
3.Use an actual pizza pan instead of a cake pan. (I think that’s why Peebs’s pizza wasn’t all the way cooked the first time.)
I know the video and this comment are pretty old now, but there is one step he completely forgot
The box says to bake the crust alone for 12 minutes, then bake again after the toppings are added for 12-14 minutes
That's the reason the crust was so undercooked

I actually really like the cheese version of this, just put your own cheese and toppings on it! Never get the pepperoni version, those little pepperonis in the sauce are nastyyyyyy. 😂😂
Yeah they grossed me out for sure, haha. It might have been better if I put more sauce? The dough was just too thick. Maybe spread out wider on a bigger pan is the way to go.

@@Peebshere is a way to make it better your first step is about your dough way too thick you should have rolled it out super thin. also your pan was fine but you should have taken the pizza out of the pan to cut it . but the easier way is too just use a cookie sheet or sheet pan how ever you want to call it. also should have just gotten the normal sauce with out the pepperonis in it. then buy the pre sliced pepperonis those are WAYY better even more when they arent in the sauce

Had the “plain cheese” version of this back in the early 80s (before there was a Pizza Hut in town and WAY before delivery was a thing). The cheese they used to pack in with it wasn’t all that great and my babysitter would insist on going to the corner deli (which was just one street over) to get actual mozzarella. Definitely made the experience more palatable than it could have been.

Thank goodness my mom never made me eat Boyardee. But I do feel sorry for the original chef. His legacy in America is always going to be remembered for the cheap pasta. At least he’s more fondly remembered in his home country of Italy.

Grew up having this and still use it sometimes for an easy cheap "homemade" pizza. We spread the dough thin on larger pans and the crust gets nicely cooked. Crunchy on the outer edge and soft (but still completely cooked) everywhere else. Add our own cheese and other toppings and use the included cheese as a little extra on top. Definitely not the best pizza but it can be pretty good.
Yes! We don't do the pepperoni sauce because I don't like Pepperonis, but if you spread the crust much thinner on a large pan, use your own mozzarella, and cook for about 15 minutes total, this is actually a really nice pizza.
When it comes to this kit, I grew up on it and actually liked it albeit with a few adjustments. Since the pizza sauce for the kit is on the thin side, add some tomato paste to help thicken it. Also don't use the pepperoni version. Since the dough itself also doesn't behave like normal pizza dough, its best to use it to make a Detroit style deep dish instead of traditional pizza.
Speaking of, perhaps you should hunt down a can of Chef Boyardee Pizzaroni, I remember having that as a kid, but they quit making it. Surely, SOMEONE in some place somewhere is hoarding an old can or two of it.
Pro tip: apply a light coat of flour or oil to your hands before kneading dough! It will save time and prevent a lot of frustration!
This might be my favorite pbg video in general. It was so fun to watch, great editing and music, really funny peeb, lots of movement, peeb got creative and did a BBQ chicken pizza for comparison, there was dogs, and I just love videos of people preparing and eating horrible cheap foods (big ashens fan).
Gaming's my favorite hobby but I've gotten pretty tired of gaming content on UA-cam, so seeing stuff like this is always great.

Lol my parents used to get these for me when i was a kid. I thought they were awesome back then. I bought one recently and hated it. I had the same issues with the dough. I kept asking myself if i needed more water or something.

There's a local pizza place where I grew up that cooks the dough, sauce, meat, and a little cheese, but all of the other toppings are added on top and cold. It sounds weird, but there is nothing like a warm pizza with a big pile of cool cheese on it. 😋

I've never seen you or your videos before, I'm less than 5 min in and I see why it's recommended to me. My grandma made this my entire life. I've tried for years to describe it to people but my words do no justice. The crust was fizzy, the sauce burned holes in your stomach. And she topped it all off with canned mushrooms. Only thing worse was "taco" night.

I once had a really stupid idea to make a pepperoni pizza using only ingredients from the dollar store. Somehow, that turned out way better than whatever this is.

Typically with tossing up pizza dough it works better to use the back of your hands/fingers so they won’t stab through the dough. I haven’t done it in years, but it’s how I was taught at least.
There’s this one pizza place near where I live that’s run by this one family and the building hasn’t been renovated since the 50s or 60s, and they have a mini Christmas town up all year, but _oh_ _man,_ their pizza is so good!

I tried so hard to find the song at 11:00, I searched through the comment section, I tried making out what the singer is saying, I used a app that recognizes music, I even attempted to just search "anime jazz" or "japanese jazz" and I found nothing. If someone knows what song is it, please shine some light on me, bc this is the type of thing that will bug me for the rest of my life.
Frustrations aside, the video is extremely funny. Peebs never fails to make me laugh, specially when he does this kind of "product review".
