A highly requested tutorial from my art accounts! An at home tutorial on how to make photocards. A few friends asked how I make the photocards I sell at artist alley and I happily recorded and compiled a thorough explanation video to help share my personal process on how I make pocas. DISCLAIMER!! I'm not a professional printer, this is for artist alley, hobbies and crafts. My quality in photocards might not meet other collector standards. I have also provided resources online on where to print photocards outside if you prefer an industry quality or don't have access to a printer at home.
Thank-you for watching!

Thanks fellow kpoop fan! 👍🫵🫰
literally so smart. I don't collect kpop cards anymore, but I love this idea to have fan art cards in my purse to handout as business cards LMAO
Hi! Since you were so nice and didn't gatekeep secrets I'm going to tell you mine:
Use bopp laminate rolls. They are way, way cheaper, you can use a cheap laminator (mine costs like 40 usd, and the laminate roll has 30 meters and costs like 30 usd)
Normally I cut the laminate a little bit wider than the pc for both sides (one side holo, one side matte looks cute to me) you have to do both sides at the same time, pc by pc.
Cut a sheet of normal copy paper (I use old papers from my work office) in half and fold it so it's a quarter of letter size paper and put the pc sandwiched between the laminate inside the pocket.
After that put it through the laminator when it's hot (wait a little bit longer after it says it's ready) and just like that they are ready.
I found really useful your tips for printing
Thank you for sharing! I definitely gotta try this 🫶
Ok but the real question is how did you make that dispenser 🤨
i also want to know
It's a Japanese trading card dispenser called "HACOMO" ☺️ they specialize in cardboard diy crafts and I got mine on Amazon JP 💗
EDIT: It's now available on Amazon US (depends when in stock) I have it on my Amazon store front where you can purchase the same dispenser! amzn.to/4bhqiX1

Thank you so much, this is super helpful!! I'm starting out my art career right now and I love to make pen and ink photo cards. Usually I do them traditionally but I'm thinking about maybe scanning them to digitize and print out, so I was researching methods and came across your video.
Thank you for all the info, and I look forward to seeing more of your art!!
Glad it helped thank you! ❤
Thank you for posting this! I've been struggling to figure out how to make good-quality PCs at home and this outlines everything clearly. I can't wait to use this method! Thanks for sharing!

Great video! Super helpful. You may want to send this video in an email to all the brands you mentioned in this video. That could open the door for sponsored collabs. Great work!

Thank you so much hehe! 😊
i agree w ur tags!!! also thanks for this vid
I GOTTA TRY THIS EVEN THO I DON'T OWN HALF THE THINGS NEEDED
It's very informative, thank you!
These remind me so much of ACEO-cards from way back haha. It's so cool to see the change in workflow that newer technology brought with it. We used to draw them by hand, glue them together or on a sheet of thicker paper and then either laminate them or put regular adhesive tape on xD.
Yours ended up looking so nice! I especially love how colorful your art is, it's really pleasing to look at. I sadly only have an old printer which prints extremely pixalized, so I won't be able to try this myself. Well, maybe someday :)
Your guide is so detailed and helpful
Now I can print out other artists art on my own and put it in my virginity corner.
I don't recommend printing other artist's work without permission, please don't do that.
koala also has sheets of 11x17 and 13x19 250 gsm paper for cheap! I can't find any smaller sheets that thick tho, apart from their glossy photo paper, but you could always cut them down if your printer can't take that size
Wait that's so smart to cut them down, thank you! I will have to try koala's thicker paper
Love it! The only thing I had trouble understanding was with the backgrounds! But I struggle to understand something so it’s not your fault! And it’s kinda fun to be able to figure out abit yourself! Anyways I absolutely love the video and your voice is pretty! ☺

It's me!! I'm real!! 😂 Thank you so much!!!! 💞💞💞
oh man i so want to do this now just to ship to my friend
This is my experiences ! I did deck cards for my math proj. at school. I DO EXACTLY THE SAME but with 200 gsm. watercolor paper. (I use renaissance (I know)(expensive) but others should work fine!) it's thick like normal cards and people even ask where I orderd it from ! It deosnt reall bend and i like it very muchh. using photo paper is really interesting too tho. imma try that
Yes that would be perfect! Watercolor paper is really thick so it's definitely durable for cards. I'm curious how they print on a printer? I've never tried watercolor paper for printing before 😯
@@gyuppiifish It showed up absolutely fine! but watercolor paper more than 200 gsm will be a lil bit hard to print since it's thick!!
@@keikeisgood to know! I'll have to try it out. I have the same problem with the red river paper haha because it's 300gsm my printer struggles to feed the paper in but I just push it in 🤣
perfect. now i can abuse my unused laminator in my closet for p1harmony and enhypen photo cards.
Me on my way to make LnD photocards so they can come home to me❤ thank youuu

May I ask about your pc setup and the tablet you use?
I love this idea, including the photocard gacha! I would love to use that idea on my market stall, if you are okay with that?
I also wanted to ask if you have a recommendation for canvas size for making the art? I'm still learning how digital art works and canvas size is the thing that confuses me the most 😅
Yes haha, no worries I'm not the only artist doing the photo card gacha at their booth ☺️👍 this is just a tutorial on how to make your own cards hehe. And sure, photo cards are normally 2.5"x3.5" , I think if you go any bigger they might not fit into the cardboard machine. However you can make them any size if you're not using a card dispenser. The rule of thumb is to normally draw in 300dpi + so your artwork is clear and can be resized, printed. Hope that helps!
@@gyuppiifish Thank you! That was very helpful ☺
When I saw Argenti I click
I have the Epson 8500 Eco tank but I can't get a high quality like yours and I don't know why.
I don't know if maybe I have the wrong paper but I tried like 4 differents paper. If I go to the printing shop their quality is much better, but I can't pay every time much money.
If it's blurry, I would check the DPI or resolution of the images you're printing and only print on photo paper. Regular paper or regular cardstock will print grainy
HSR PHOTOCARDSS
should I still do the online even if I have bad quality pictures? I couldn't but a photocard set, so i wanted to make sum for me and my friend, but i only have low quality 😅
1:45 Super curious where you got the handheld 3 pocket binder
Shopee ! I'm aware shopee is not available outside of asia though so possibly temu or aliexpress also carry the same 3 pocket binder !
Wait so I have a question for the lamination step at the end u first have to put the cold lamination on and then put it in the heated lamination machine ? Bcs I have a lamination machine put it applies the plastic for u, so you just have to put the paper in
You can just use the lamination machine and skip doing 2 steps!
I apply cold laminate manually because I don't have a machine to roll it on for me, but I'm not satisfied with manually applying it so I put it through a "hot laminator" to melt the plastic against the paper so it's super clear!
Could you tell me if I can use heat laminate? I have old glossy pockets left and wanna use them up.
I haven't tried heat laminate pockets but I imagine they'll turn out the same finish. However they might have a border and air bubble inside since the pockets aren't adhesive to the cards. 🥹👍
Hi! I loved this video ^^ I make kpop fanmade pcs in Brazil, and my process is a bit different from yours, because of the materials and resources I have here, but I loved to see the way you make yours and learned a ton from it ^^ One lil thing that I wanted to ask you, is that like, in your print settings you showed that you used the borderless option, but on the right of it there was an options box, ygat in my printer leads to two options: expand or keep size. From the outcome size of your borders, I had the inpression you had the "expand" option on, but here I always use the "keep size" one and it works perfectly. Do you have those options in the borderless setting of your printer too? Sorry for the long question xD
No problem! I would say "keep size" for your printer setting works best so the template remains the same 💗 "expand" will make any image on your printer bigger to fit the page
Do u recommend any printers?? If u do can u send link
Did the price of the avery laminating sheets go from like 24$ for 50 sheets to 60$ for 50 sheets or am I seeing things wrong?
Thanks for sharing! but I'm also worry about the fact that I only have a cheap printer and scare that it doesn't have the quality that i want... or perhaps it can be done as long as i use greater paper quality regardless of what kind printer the printer is?
I'm not sure what kind of printer you have but from my experience with older printers, as long as it's inkjet, adjusting the settings to "high quality" and making sure you're choosing "photo paper" can make a big difference 🥹💓, and make sure your artwork or image is clear and not pixelated or blurry! Hope that helps
@@gyuppiifish Thank you so much for your respond!! I appreciate it! I guess some experiment won't harm. Anyways thanks again!

what printers work? please answer this i wanna make these but i’m scared that my printer won’t work 😔
Hi!! I was wondering if it is safe to run the Bleidruck holographic and Avery clear laminating sheets through a heat laminator? :o
Have you ever had any issues doing this? Tbh I’m a bit scared to try because I know self-laminating sheets don’t need to be run through a heat laminator!
Since the Avery and bleidruck are cold self adhesive sheets, a heat laminator is technically not required but I like to "melt" the plastic so that I don't have any bubbles. I would just check your heat settings on your laminator just in case and not have it on too high! Mine doesn't have a temperature setting so it normally melts plastic pockets 3-5mil but I haven't had any issues laminating my cards or any burning. 💞 I hope that helps! You can also just use the heat lamination pouches themselves and cut directly ☺️
ive been want to make custom tcg/collectable cards for my ocs! though i have a question: i have a laser printer; would that work instead?
If your printer can print in color and allow borderless option you should be able to yes! From my experience inkjet printers would be recommended if you would like more vibrant, color accuracate prints and photos. Hope that helps!
which app or webside did you use to fix those photos in that boxes?

hi, how about the copyright of the characters/person you used? is it legal?
Hi! So actually Mihoyo does have a very open policy regarding the copyright of being able to draw their characters as Fanart and being able to sell small quantities.
More info can be found here: m.hoyolab.com/#/article/1372702
I would still be careful which characters and series you are making art for and if it's being sold to look up their copyright policies online :)

i used to laminate a lot of stuff for work, i found that if i laminated them in the pouches then put something heavy on them right after they come out of the laminator they wouldnt warp. I also would only cut them after I had laminated!
o u already mentioned putting something heavy on HAHA
Yes! It took a few tries but it did make sense to put something heavy since the plastic would be heated up so it would naturally curl 😂 glad I'm not the only one
