    ABOUT Dr. Katie Woodley - The Natural Pet Doctor
    =====
    Dr. Katie Woodley, BVSc, GDVCHM, cVMA, is the proud owner and holistic veterinarian of The Natural Pet Doctor. After watching her own husband develop an autoimmune disease and be told there was nothing they could do other than strong immunosuppressive medications, Dr. Katie went down the path of holistic medicine. Becoming certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine changed everything for her pet patients. She started The Natural Pet Doctor after being in the conventional vet world for over 10 years to provide pet parents with more resources for natural medicine advice and care so they had all of the options. Her mission is to ensure that all pet parents have access to herbal medicine, supplementation, and nutritional advice throughout their pet's lifetime that helps them thrive rather than just survive. Dr. Katie offers online education through her courses, UA-cam channel, Facebook, and Instagram.

    I have been feeding homemade raw for 12 years and have never used a supplement. I have tried a couple and it caused problems. My dogs are 14 and 14.5 years old without health issues.

    What I have read recently by nutritionists, liver from ruminant liver is very high in copper and they recommend feeding at only 2 percent of the diet. For people feeding commercial diets which already have copper, they may want to reconsider using high amounts of ruminant liver treats, especially since there are no established maximum copper levels for dog food and hence the levels are all over the place. And copper storage is on the rise.

    My family eats pastured meats. They are very expensive and I seriously doubt any raw dog food company uses truly pastured meats, particularly grass finished beef. All cows spend some time on grass. Few are grass finished.

    This is one of the best websites I have found or videos on raw feeding. I have a German shepherd who actually I bought from Loganton Pennsylvania who has had some issues. At 8 weeks old i took him for the first visit to my vet with his breeders vet record showing all the checks marks heathy from head to down to the testicals signed by the breeders vet . Healthy male puppy full exam heathy! I was shocked when my vet said he had a undesended testical. Then again i didnt notice it myself but thats genetic. Then he started having other issues. Allergies they say but i think he was also a result of a breeder that didnt care enough about safe breeding practices. He only cared about money. I put him on raw after he was a year old. I didnt want to get it wrong as he was stll growing but it was getting expensive to by premade. He also gets some raw meals i do myself but he isnt thriving like I thought he would ! I follow recipes that i researched and have read Raw feeding books.I. read Karen beckers. Ian billingshurst. Everyone makes it out to be a miracle. What am i doing wrong .why are there so many different opinons on what has to be in the bowl. I am confused and scared im missing something.

      Thanks For getting back to me! I wanted to ask you my vet kept telling me he had allergies just recently hes now 3. Anyway I thought it was fleas because I was noticing what I thought was flea dirt... But she insisted since he was on a preventative he was fine. Well for 2 months he kept on scratching in spots that are common with fleas and it started getting worse took him back to the My veterinarian who insisted that I would have to stop and trust her and allow her to give him a Cito point shot since he suffering from allergies. I do not believe in suppressing my dog's immune system if you don't prove to me what he is allergic to. She didnt do testing to tell me what allergies or even try to put a flea comb through his fur but i have to believe her shes the vet . I didnt want to do a shot without ruling out everything else, but she said i know its not fleas. I said I don't believe in bandades! My vet doesnt like me because I questioned everything But after another week of him chewing and hurting himself I couldn't stand it any longer I had tried everything to soothe his skin give him Natural healthy products Soothing skin dips and rinsing him off after walks . Finally I let her give him the shot despite the way I felt about Shot I wanted to trust her. She didn't want to run a allergy scan or do anything to try to figure out what it was sol I figured that the shot would give me time to heal his skin. Then I had pulled out a carpet because I was going to buy a new one and notice that he wasn't itching as much,,,,, Rest of the throwrugs i pulled off my wood floors and It was then that I got attacked by fleas ! I was literally so angry that my vet did not trust me when I told her I know what I'm seeing I live with my dog. I bought a steam Cleaner, Toss out the rugs , Put demacious Earth Down but all natural shampoos , combing everyday with a f Fleae comb , to my best efforts I cannot get rid of them do you suggest anything that I could do at this point hes probably got a tape worm. for a while but I wasn't getting bit I didn't see physically anything but flea dirt The vet I had made me feel like I was going crazy. What can I use to get rid of them that's safe as he has fibrotic myopathy of the gracias muscle and i cant stand to use another poison product. I live in ct. I have lyme disease going on 14 yrs i dont want my german shepherd to get lyme as its bad in Ct.

    Thank you. Sharing this. Some really good points brought up which ignites pet parents thinking.. Whenever I see anyone asking Whats the best food, my answer is always the same. There is no such thing because every dog is different... this will be one link to share for this occasion.
    MCT or Coconut oil?.. I prefer MCT
    BTW Studies show cooking turmeric destroys healing properties.
    Food for thought💕

    A2 and A1 cow milk are different. Many people cannot tolerate A1 milk but can tolerate A2. A2 is what is in goat milk.
