    Installed on my 2019 GT 6speed. Reminds me of the results from the old 10-minute tune up from the fox days.
    Throttle response is much better. Noticeable increase in torque especially down low. Car just runs and feels better. No delay in the throttle. Not so much up top but it really improves drive ability..

    Pretty Important to mention that this GT wasn't bone stock! AFE Drop in air filter and a Steeda H-Pipe on the first dyno, then installed the Ford Performance Power Pack for the 2nd dyno. Not saying that will make a big difference at all, but will definitely change the numbers a bit.

    The website mentions that you have to let the car’s computer adjust over a few tanks of gas before all of the horsepower is added so I would suggest you take it to the dyno again after you have done some driving. The horsepower will probably be higher next time you go to the dyno.

      @@JDubTwins yea I was just about to mention that. When I got my Ford performance pack for my 2016 eco boost(tune and cold air intake) it said that it would take a few gas cycles to learn the tune, it also said something about doing some pulls at certain rpms. The mustang6g forums have good info on the Ford’s tunes. I say get it dyno’d again.

    Nice video! You sound like a decent guy, so I don’t think you were intentionally trying to mislead anyone with your “lower than expected” numbers, but it’s important to note when Ford Performance advertised +19 hp/+20 tq it was on a bone stock car, running on 89 (I phoned and asked).
    My understanding is you were on 93 with an AFE filter which probably already bumped you up 12-14 hp.
    I’m a scientist by nature and profession, so consistency and variables during experimentation are key.
    That said, I’m running this kit on my ‘20 PP1 A10 and I gained +17 hp/+18 tq and +38tq@2000 rpm. I was running 91 stock and bumped to 94 post-kit install. I ran 2 tanks through before I did the after dyno.
    Great kit - and YES, my Butt-Dyno loves the improvement!

    I just got my 2020 back today and noticed a big difference in sport+ mode... it downshifts exactly to road conditions... and you are correct, the throttle is much smoother and I noticed it has increased my speed on an exit I take everyday at speed. I was able to get an additional 10 mph than previous top speed tests.. it also seems to shift after third gear, the power band stays at 6K and goes up to 7.5K and the exhaust sounds louder even in normal mode. Sport + mode sounds louder ... Has anyone heard of also changing the manifold to the Bullitt manifold or the GT350 Manifold? Levittown Ford sells the GT350 Manifold and supposedly it fits the 2018-2020 models... Has anyone heard of this swap???

    hi man do you think the drop in filter from kn would have done the same for you for far less $$$$$, or this is worth doing to your car, i have the same car but I'm debating whether to go for the drop in or full air intake kit plus a tune if the gains are that low, i know every state has different altitudes and temperatures, but I've been doing some research and all i can see is that doing the kit plus a tune in a hot place like texas is not worth it.

    • @JDubTwins
      @JDubTwins  4 роки тому

      No, getting a drop in filter isn't going to change anything. I had an AFE drop in filter prior to getting this kit/tune and it didn't change anything about the car and how it performed. The tune is going to give you increased throttle response, optimized shifts, an increase in HP and TRQ; results that a drop in filter will definitely not yield. Unless you're saying you want to get a drop in filter with a custom tune, then that would be a different story.

      What year mustang ? If it's 2018 up the stock manifold is as good as the GT350. The 2015 thru 2017 power pack came with 350 manifold and the procal already calibrated for it. Which I think is the stage 3. Other than that a custom tune is the option.

    Late post…In August I placed my order directly from FORD. I then saw/stumbled onto your video - much needed content - then cancelled my order! Especially when they ordered it for the 15-17 - I have a 2019 PP1. Question: Has Ford approached/contacted you about this particular episode regarding their kit’s lack luster performance, contrary to their advertisements?

    • @JDubTwins
      @JDubTwins  4 роки тому +3

      To answer your question, no Ford hasn't reached out to me. Just to be clear, on the Dyno, the kit produced lack luster numbers. However, I forgot to mention in the video that I had a drop in air filter and H-Pipe installed which may have given me higher than average baseline dyno results to begin with, which would make the post kit install dyno results seem less significant. Also, although Ford didn't say anything about the car having to learn the tune over time, it felt like my car did learn the tune over time because it felt like it was producing more power after driving it a couple hundred miles, but maybe that's just my mind messing with me. Maybe I'll confirm that by getting another dyno to see if it gained more HP and torque. Overall, although on paper the kit didn't seem to yield that great of results, after getting the kit, my car is definitely more fun to drive than it was before. I feel like it made a significant amount of difference in the driving experience considering it's a warranty backed tune from Ford.

    • @JDubTwins
      @JDubTwins  4 роки тому

      I don't think it made the paddle shifters more responsive. Shifting from first gear to second gear still takes like 2 seconds after initially upshifting for whatever reason. But I will say when it automatically downshifts it's smoother. When I'm down shifting to a red light or stop sign I only manually downshift to third gear, then I let the car automatically down shift to second and first. Prior to the tune, when it would automatically downshift it felt very abrupt and sudden, but post tune it feels smooth. The cost was around $250 but I got it installed at National Speed, not Ford.

    I have this on my 17 and it's a huge difference, probably because the car has more to give whereas you already have 20 more horse power from the beginning, you definitely must use shell Nitro V power gasoline because the program certainly has much more timing in it...

      Yeah I only use Shell Premium. I've seen in the forums that the tune reacts well to higher octane gas. People have been mixing a little e85 with their 93 to boost the octane and they've been getting positive results.

      So you'll retain your extended warranty, however, if any parts fail that Ford can determine was caused by the Ford Calibration Kit, it would not be covered if it's past 3 years or 36,000 miles.

      @@user-bk5ey9ws5g I was trying to figure this out for the longest time and I can't tell you how many people I called from My local Ford Dealership, to the Warranty company, to Ford Performance, but everything JDUb Twins said is accurate. you will retain all of your warranty (7 years) but if anything happens after the 3 year/ 36,000 mile that is directly related to any of the parts you added, then those parts will NOT be covered. If something else happens to your car in, let's say year 5, that has NOTHING to do with your mods, then those parts ARE COVERED. Ford would have to prove that the mods added are the direct reason for any malfunctions to void the remainder of your 7 year warranty.

    Just got my kit installed on my 18 10 speed if you live in a state where you can get tuned by Lund or PBD then yeah that’s a no brainer and probably cheaper but I live in Cali and although it’s not impossible to get tunes from them it’s just a pain in the ass and then you are always worried about smog I don’t want to deal with that headache so this kit is for those in my boat I guess and honestly I’m impressed with the tune it really smooths out the shifts especially in sport and the throttle response is really nice too the low end and midrange torque is noticeable top end stays the same which is already nuts in these gen 3’s. I was getting bored of my car and now I’m a lot more excited to drive it for sure.

      I mentioned it in the video, but I feel like there is more burble on deceleration, but I have an H-Pipe which I noticed made the exhaust have more burble when I first installed it as well. The dyno numbers are a bummer but you make some good points. This preserves warranty and allows you to do some tuning. I did a 4.09 axle ratio swap in my 2020 GT and it turns out that I need the 2020 compatible version of this kit to make the computer *not* freak out. At least the car is more enjoyable and a little quicker.

      The calibration tune will fix that issue, it's made for the 3.73 and 4.10 gear ratios as well. I'm think of getting the 3.73s but I'm not sure if it would be to high for the auto transmission.

Cai does pretty much nothing,porting the manifold does very little on the gen3. Cams are too much money for what they do,same with ported heads. E85 tune and long tubes net almost 500whp, put a tire on it and roll.
