Nice video of a nice looking product. Another possible negative would be loss of headroom.
I wish Tesla had the option of a solid (non-glass) version. Where I live leaving the my model 3 outside is a pain as the internal temperature sky rockets and the car has to turn on the AC to control it. I once experimented by turning off this function on a partly cloudy day and the interior hit 50 degrees C (122 F) so I obviously turned it back on. I now have sun shades and that helps quite a bit but they are opaque. I may as well have a metal roofed Tesla, it would be cheaper to manufacture and insure.
Not sure about the headroom in the 3 but there is so much on the Y it’s not been an issue
The glass roof is structural and for aerodynamics on Teslas, where as with steel roofed cars it is only for aerodynamics.

I bought and installed the product - after a few days, it started making noise. In two weeks the sunshade fell twice while I was driving. Working with customer service to return it and it's very troublesome.
How is this in comparison to the v2 Otrifowd which is also way cheaper

U need to complete this review by doing a temperature comparison: with it on and without it. That will help truly find out the amount of temperature drop to justify it. Just my two cents

Can you drive e with this installed and the windows down? I have one that gets blown down when the windows are down and i hate it.
That is not possible with these. The cross mount frame makes it firm and not going anywhere
Also, I learned the hard way that opening the windowa significantly reduces your range

E base has 2 models of this. Yours is the Honeycomb design for $339. The second is a Roll Fabric Style design for $342. Obviously the price is not a consideration but why did you choose the first design? The second design also appears to have a nicer hand grip for opening and closing. Thanks for your insight.
if you look at the pics, the fabric style's trim block out even a bigger area of the roof.

I just dont know if i could get used to the pleated look in my Model 3. Live in AZ so heat reduction would be nice, but i think ceramic tint is probably the better way to go for me.
I live in Phoenix. When the refresh of the model 3 comes out i am going to get the performance. How do you like your M3 ??
@@cellman1829 I do not think I can go back to an ICE car after my M3. Mine is a SR, so the slowest and lowest range of the bunch and it still puts a giant smile on my face when i drive it. Its still fun and quick.
That is a good option but so far the feedback on these have been incredibly good
Cheers for taking the time and effort to show this. Many discover how the glass is the segway to a hot cabin. Unfortunately miser Musk is not going to install factory shades or the option of a non glass roof.
Good thing there are some slick ways to solve the problem

EV Base makes good products. I bought their Überturbine Wheel Covers they fit perfectly were very easy to install, they look terrific and I am very happy with them. So I am very interested in the sunshades. I really do not have a problem with the hot sun heating up my Model Y, yet, but I am always looking for options. thanks for your video they are always very helpful and detailed. keep them coming…thanks again

Yea the products that really fit into the Tesla and almost have an OEM feel are usually quite expensive

I have been using it for two weeks and it falls twice. I just contacted the customer server to return it and the return process is troublesome asking for video, and pictures... Now I am still waiting for the return label.

Why have these?
Because in sunny locations the interior temperature of the car can get stupidly high requiring the car to turn on its AC to regulate it thus loosing range and putting the car's electronics at risk. Even with the AC on the seats, at least the black ones, get painfully hot to sit on when exposed to direct sunlight.
If you lived in Arizona you would know!
Part of Tesla's race to the bottom, they removed the heat reflective coating they used to include on the glass roof. A complete fail in hot climates where the AC is easily overpowered.
I’ve had my MY for less than a month. The SC sun is making it obvious I need to get something. Does any part of the frame contact the sunroof and potentially cause scratches or issues?
This looks horrible and very dangerous in the event of a physical accident that affects the sun roof.
