- Non-playable concept trailer for a potential Silent Hill 2 re-imagining in VR!
I tried to demonstrate how the atmosphere, combat and puzzle-solving of Silent Hill would translate to VR.
This all runs almost at real-time in blender, but nothing's playable. A lot of assets are ripped straight from Silent Hill 2 to save production time. It's incredible how well some of these hold up nearly 20 years later.

@@tangoiceblast1291 Actually there are some pretty strong rumors they are rebooting the silent hill series with 2 new games, one being more classic and the other being a telltale-type game, so let's hope they don't fuck it up again.

Nice. Silent Hill wouldn't even need to be a "game". Just hanging out in the foggy town in VR would be more than enough for me. It'd feel so surreal. An interesting place to visit once in a while, that's for sure.

Pyramid Head chasing after you reminds me of those dreams where no matter how fast you run, whatever was following you walks faster.
I had dreams like that where I could run, but I couldn't scream. At some point, I got used to recognizing them as nightmares, and, for fun, deliberately tried to wake up screaming. Never worked though. XD
my version, i could run but it's like in slow motion, i could scream but it sound weird, and the only thing i could feel as real as in real world is when i got hurt in dream
i think its a symbolism of "You can't run away from guilt" like no matter how far you run and hide, fate always catches up to you

Man, I love how fun and creative an interactive adventure game type puzzle like combining a string and hook to get a key from a drain is in something like this. Something that would be so dull and boring in a standard game becomes something that really connects yourself with the world and environment in a VR game.
totally man! the original drain puzzle is literally using the item. James grabs the key in a cutscene

I would pay ANYTHING. I spent $70 to get an original PS2 copy of Silent Hill 2 with the manual and everything in good condition. I would pay double that for this game if I had to. If there was a fundraiser, I would donate at least $100 no questions asked.

Pryamid head running literally gave me a heart attack, that's some scary shot and the way he runs makes it look like original team silent! This is beyond phenomenal great work and will share! I hope we get to see more

I played Resident Evil 7 VR and it was pretty terrifying because it so damn real. But Silent Hill would be even more amazing...!

There is only one way to describe this: awe-inducing. Completely. As a huge Silent Hill 2 fan, this project captures the essence of the ambiance perfectly while adding in the depths of a true first person experience. These kinds of fan works are enough to bring any horror game lover to tears of excitement. Gorgeous.

was too busy laughing at the pizza scene at the end the first time i watched this to acknowledge it but whoa, the recreations of the locations are really well done, it must've taken a lot of effort and attention to detail, feels just like the original

I'm not into horror games or vr but, man, I would give it a try.
most horror games are just a pile of cheap jump scares but Silent Hill 2 had an amazing plot at first everything looks random, unrelated and even ridiculous but the more you learn about the town and main character is when the horror begins, is not the monsters they are just a part of it all.
Everything except the running Pyramid Head felt super on point, especially the pizza freakout

That's a brilliant idea! Both the survival horror and puzzle elements work great, at least in this concept build. It's about time Konami starts making more Silent Hill games and remastering their old ones, and Silent Hill VR would be a great place to start!
Now that Silent Hill 2 is being remade... I'm not saying that VR is possible, but I'm just saying- It's TECHNICALLY possible now
I'm a 35 year old mals and the ending to this made me cry as a teenager. You really get into the characters and stroyline. The ending that made me cry was the true ending, I believe. I cant remember.

For those really jonesing for a Silent Hill experience in VR, Organ Quarter really captures the atmosphere. It's very aged now but it still creeps you out.

I think the classic camera angles is part of what made the game so incredible, and yet this entices me so, *so* much. I wish konami would jump on this. Job very well done!
Man, ever since the last 'remaster' of SH2 and SH3 I've been thirsting for someone to try again and do it right. I believe that this is that golden opportunity. Make it so and I will shell out all of my money for a full vr set up and this game.
