Great teaching instructions. My dad took us fishing many many times. My sister cried so much, because my dad asked to put a worm on her hook, she refused to fish ever again. She didn't want to hurt the worm. I would hate to see what happen if he ever took her deer hunting.
Amazing parenting. You and your family are rich beyond comprehension. Most people don't even get to experience this kind of love and bond in their entire lifetimes.
I’ve grown up hunting here in Maine. I’ve watched hundreds of hours of hunting videos. From the old realtree with bill jordan, to meat eater to big woods bucks and the Benoits. Your videos are by far my favorite. The raw, realness of the hunt. The youthful excitement. The emotions of proud parents and their children. Great job dadding and momming. It’s fun to see. Stay free gridlessness. You’re part of what makes this world seem less overwhelming
Dang why do I love your channel so much?? You-all's really likeable people thats why. Not trying to be weird or anything just your authenticity shines. God bless 🙏🙏🙏
I built myself a 243W when I was 15. Bohler steel barrel and Mauser K98 action. After 40 years it is still perfect, with a Schmidt & Bender 10X42 mil-dot I have hit chamois up to 500 meters. Now I also have a Blaser R93 Attache also in 243W. Nice caliber sweet and precise. Greetings from the Italian Alps.
The whitetail shot with the 7mm mag by Christina was a toad of a buck a dandy for sure, I surely love you guys and watching your videos how God has blessed you all
Awesome video..!! my wife has used a .243 for 40 years and many deer have fallen under it. All of my 5 children started with a .243. I believe it is a great round for all our game except for the very largest bears. We have taken Deer, Bear, Moose with that round. Also great for women and smaller framed people. The .243 will do its job on game animals for sure, the secret is as always ....Shot placement. So good to see you teach your child the beauty and wonder of hunting!! Congrats to you!!!
As a follower from UK I love watching you teach your 5 girls how to be self sufficient whilst still respecting nature the skills they are learning and have learnt are many that we don't get to experience here in UK. If I was a lot younger and didn't have the health issues I have I would have loved to have moved to Canada and lived off the land and been self sufficient.
I have been a professional hunting guide since 1978 as a single income working from the Pacific NW to Alaska so the biggest mistake, I see hunters doing now is brainwashed by bullet manufactures to use garbage lead core bullets and in High velocity and High energy cartridges it is just expected to lose massive amounts of meat to blood shot and blasted holes through the animals. One of my clients on a Yukon Moose hunt was shooting a 300 win and Hornaday bullets the damage was so bad to the moose we had to leave the full rib cage for the bears because blood shot had wreck all of the meat This all can be stopped by using the Barns TSX - TTSX - LRX bullets. In 6mm I shot an AR 10 I've chambered in 6mm-284 win and only shoot the Barns copper expanding bullets then get NO wasted meat at all
My wife and 2 nieces use .243. All trained by my former Marine brother. They don't miss. 100 grain bullets have dropped some nice whitetails. Still working on the part where the wife guts her deer.

Thanks for the content in your show. The best bit (for me) was seeing how in tune the girls were with their surroundings and each other when shooting the deer. Maximum respect.
I’m 57 years old and I live in Arkansas. My two cents worth on a kids caliber has changed over the years. I like a 243 and a 7mm-08 but my grandson is 7 and small for his age so when he was 5 I started him with a 300 blackout suppressed. We have deer and hogs and a long shot where I hunt is about 120 yards. The recoil less than a 243 and does excellent on deer and hogs. Thanks for the great videos and have a blessed day
Ruth proved its not just a kids rifle, and so did your girls. If they can do it, so can anyone else. Though moms .243 did become legendary with your girls. Stories will be told for many years about the hunts they were on and took animals with moms lil 243. Btw i subbed to the channel on Ruths elk hunt. You popped into my feed and have been hooked since then.
Hi guys...I am very happy to see you guys on youtube. I remember the old videos you mention here, the youngest daughter was a small at that time and now she has been grown up. I have a daughter, she is 13 now. I always talk to her about your family and your youtubes. Me and my daughter have a dream to visit to north pole one day. Cheer from Rockville, Maryland USA. have a wonderful time.
243 is a great caliber. Tika 3 light is a great gun. I got my son a 7mm08 in a Tika 3 lite when he was 12. I am very impressed with it . He's harvested many whitetail with it. He still uses it at 29 years old. I'm thinking about getting the same gun for myself now.
Mum & Dad would be so proud of how their babies have grown to hold their own living off the land, and the patience they've shown at a young age is beyond their tender age, which we only see in older seasoned hunters.... Mum & Dad take a bow for you have created what all children should understand, because the world as we know it, will be gone and we have to rely on what we can sustainably take from the land. ...Bloody brilliant. ...My son is 19 completed yr 12 and hunts every week pigs, sea turtle, dugong, free diving, pigeons, flying fox, sea urchins, cattle & he loves his bull riding... Jeff and his merry band of models! I really love the quips Kesia comes up with. Shes such a character . Seeing Julia back when she was so tiny and Sara out guiding her sister is so cool to remember those videos from so many years ago! Ive really loved seeing how your girls have grown up and just learned all the stuff I wish I could have learned when i was their age! Thanks so much for sharing! This got me all primed and pumped up for Bow hunting whitetails in just under 2 weeks! Much love from Florida!
I'm 59 and after years of shooting 7mm Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag and 338 Win Mag my body doesn't handle recoil like it used to so now my main hunting rifle is a Savage VSX HUNTER XP in 243 Winchester. With proper shot placement and good solid copper or bonded bullets it is a caliber that punches well above its weight and within reasonable ranges is capable of taking pretty much any game animal with the exception of dangerous game species. Its low recoil just happens to make it the perfect rifle for kids or recoil sensitive shooters. Your girls have shown just how effective a cartridge it is in the hands of competent hunters.
I've had a 243 in my gun safe for decades. And now that I'm in my early 70s and reside in Michigan. Where our hunting is white tail deer I've been using it for a good 5 years now. It shoots straight & I think it's an awesome caliber.
A remarkable piece of film archive. Five remarkable young women, one remarkable father. I cannot stress enough how impressive I found their ability to shoot, mostly freehand, and not dwell on the shot. If only children the world over were given the chance to experience the connection between the world around them and the food they eat. Respect for their quarry combined with the very real urge to hunt and provide was evident in every scene. Well done.
Absolutely. I love taking my kids out hunting. Started taking them when they turned six. Even though they didn’t get to shoot things until they were ten we still had fun and they still love it today after they are all grown and out of the house. Family time is awesome time.
It's the first time I've seen your channel. Great job being a good dad! I got my first rifle when I was ten, and I did the same for my son. God bless your family.
This is one of my new favorite channels. Also awesome is that you're in B.C. I spent a couple yrs there and love that part of our beautiful country. Love from Ontario 🇨🇦 . Keep on keeping on. 👍
Yes, the .243 is the perfect kid caliber. My first buck at 12 yrs old was with my Grandpa’s .243 which is a Browning lever action that I inherited . The next year I moved up to a 270 Remington 700. Still have both guns 39 years later.
Greetings from the land of Blaze King, thanks for the hunting memories. There are few things that I appreciate more than seeing a family out gathering winter's meat. As far as what works for anyone, as someone who has been hunting for more than half a century now it seems to me bullet construction and shot placement matter more than the brass cartridge case that gets them there. I'd rather hunt with a .223 and bullets that I trust than a .338 Win with bullets I know don't always work. Good luck to you all this season.

A big thing as well, is the rifle brand. Tikka is phenomenally accurate right outbof the box with handloads or the right factory ammo. Makes shooting experience with younger kids learning so much easier. I only shoot Tikka. I've had other brands throughout the years but I've found the one I've settled on. Even built a 1000 yard precision rifle out of a Tikka. Second to none 💯% Great video as always!
I agree. I bought a Savage 110 in .243 as my kids' first "real" gun. A bit late to the game (not much hunting overseas) but making up for it now. My oldest is going on his first deer hunt this fall with it. He's been practicing all summer (Good Golly, that was expensive!) and he's become a pretty good shot. My middle kid's turn next year, and the youngest the year after. Keep the videos coming. You "guy and gals" are awesome.
A great trip down memory lane both for you and us, as I remember all those wonderful moments and the excellent shooting. Really great to share again, hope there’s more to come. I use my Julia hand made leather ammo belt regularly in Scotland. Wonderful life style and videos

Some great shooting by the girls, well done. Too many people say that the 243Win is not up to the job on shooting larger game, but the girls prove otherwise. I'm 70 years young and I bought a brand new Tikka T3X Aspire in 243Win and I love it😄. Do you use factory ammo, or is it reloaded. I reload in batches of 50 and test fire three over a chronograpd and write up a bullet drop chart. Thank you so much for charing.
awesome video im in new zealand ...thats some great hunting country you have to great to see you teaching the girls the hunting way of life and you doing it all as a family m8 take my hat off to you all keep the videos coming i love em cheer and hot barrels from nz .👍👍
Good to see you guys back doing what you do best I'm from AUSTRALIA shot for years harvesting kangaroos and pigs professionally used 223 exclusively 99 percent head shot what I don't get is why you AMERICANS chest shoot I get the trophy deal . One thing I noticed is the girls looking up from scope to see if they got the animal I spose it comes with repetitiveness training yourself to watch the shot through scope . Great clip though good to reminisce and great you are back hunting
I started hunting with an old single shot ruger in 257 Roberts. I now hunt almost exclusively with either my Henry break barrel in .243, or my trusty TC hawken muzzle loader. Bullet selection and shot placement are crucial, but I have never needed a follow up shot on any animal I have taken (I don’t hunt outside 200yds, if it’s further then that, I get closer). You just have to be patient when hunting.
Jeff, you are the luckiest guy in the world. To be blessed with all of those amazing girls is more than any man could ask.

Awesome video. Thank you all for sharing. I never owned a .243, but know several who do. They swear by it.
So proud of you girls. You got an old guy cheering you on
awesome video im in new zealand ...thats some great hunting country you have to great to see you teaching the girls the hunting way of life and you doing it all as a family m8 take my hat off to you all keep the videos coming i love em cheer and hot barrels from nz .👍👍
EPIC!! AWESOME!! Congrats on such an amazing journey and such an amazing Family! Thanks for sharing as always ❤

You guys always leave me wanting more. Looking forward to seeing your freeze-dried balls!
That was a great shot. Don’t mess around with Rose 🌹
I love hunting videos! Great job girls, from another girl hunter in South Carolina!
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing!
I love the dadrodere with the girls. Literally lmao to tears. Momma got it smoking too. Rosie company in the black pj's.
Nice family hunting trips. Good job everyone.
