    I have always struggled with large blackheads on my nose. I still use pore strips because it seems to be the only thing that keeps them at bay. I REGULARLY use Paula’s choice salicylic acid (the bha liquid exfoliant) and have been using it for two years and it has done absolutely nothing for my blackheads. What else is there to do except pore strips 🤷‍♀️

      2 years? I stopped using it after 2 months when I saw no benefits and slight breakouts. The only things that help with my blackheads are 1) Esthederm Osmoclean Deep Pore Cleanser 2) Nose strips 🤷🏻‍♀️

      Try a deep cleansing oil to massage and loosen the blackheads out. I extract it super easily with no harm that way. Cleansing oils are supposed to emulsify woth water so no worries about them doing harm to your oils but it is best do a regular cleanser afterwards to get rid of residue.

    I have used to have really pronounced deep pores and sebaceous filaments, and I think I might know what’s going on here. If you’re in a polluted environment and do a deep clean followed by a really pervasive skin barrier like petroleum, your pores become slightly filled by the barrier and stay cleaner for longer. It doesn’t extract anything-it just prevents the sebum that remains in your pores from darkening as quickly or noticeably by keeping air out, and it evens out your texture a bit. I actually use a silicone scar cream deliberately for this now. However, I don’t use any kind of foundation or concealer, and you do have to take care to use an exfoliant, steam and deep clean your pores every 3 days, regardless.

      You say you “used to” have really pronounced pores and sebaceous filaments… what’s your secret?!! I need that skincare routine because I am currently struggling to fix the same issues on myself!

    • @4nn13h7

      @@xtiebro Honestly, I think some of it is that I’m oily in different places now that I’m older, but the big difference-maker for me has been embracing my skin tone variations and accepting that I don’t need my skin to be one flat, perfect color to look put-together. I maybe wear foundation or powder once every couple of months, and that’s when I see pores/inflammation/bumpy texture. The pores on my nose, in particular, are so much better now that I don’t use any kind of cover. It sucks to go for a couple of months without it when your skin is bouncing back from regular use, but I really notice a difference now that I’m foundation-free-respect to all those who can’t do that and feel comfortable. For me, it’s been the silver bullet. I just wash with whatever body wash I have, use a toner or serum with glycolic acid every three days, moisturize with Ialuset (hyaluronic acid cream) and then rinse in the morning and put on silicone scar cream as a “base.” If I want to go all-out, I’ll put a blurring primer with silicone on over it. Then I do brows/mascara, etc. I have natural flush and don’t usually use blush in summer-in winter, I use a very small amount of water-based liquid blush or lip color blended on my fingers.

      I could see the petroleum softening the dead skin and keratin plugs so that when she washes in the morning, it cleans out her pores and exfoliates without irritating, but doesn't make sense to perform more than once a week.

    Double cleanser and niacinamide did wonders for me. I tried salicylic acid and it didn’t help my black heads at all. I also do glycolic acid and ascorbic acid on alternate days of using niacinamide now and I swear my pore appearance and skin texture is sooo much better then it’s ever been. Took about 5-6 months but finally my husband noticed and said “wow your skin looks really good” currently trying to convince him to get into skin care. 😂

    If you really want to know how to safely and painlessly get rid of blackheads, something I learned as someone who also used to struggle with blackheads and acne is oil cleansing with certain oils that DONT clog pores (castor, grape seed, avocado, jojoba etc.) rub it all over your face for approx. 30 minutes until you draw out the oil plugs from your face. Make sure you do this BEFORE you wash your face. It leaves your face super soft and I noticed a huge difference in my skin almost overnight!!
    Edit: Don’t do it too often. Once a week or so is good enough!

      What it does is actually prevent you from being moisturized by external means lol. It also means your skin won't dry out since it's trapped beneath the vaseline. It isn't doing anything but gunking up your face and keeping your skin status in the same state as when you applied, no more moisture, no pollutants getting in, nothing getting out

  • @ehno5771
    @ehno5771 Рік тому +8

    the vaseline or petroleum jelly can actually cause more blockage in your pores. mainly because of the origin/what it’s made of but there is an alternative one that contains more natural and less harmful ingredients. it’s typically used as a moisturizer, but when your using it to remove blackheads it will only make it worse over time, if it continues to clog your pores. same thing with a super drying cleanser, while as they feel nice for oily skin and take the oils away for a bit, your skin starts to produce more oils than before in result of it being stripped of the oils it had.
    but wtv works best for you because not everyone needs the same product to achieve similar results. ❤

    this is all you need to to guys
    get egg whites from one egg and spread over your blackhead area, then take a tissue apart and dab it onto your face and let it soak in the egg white. do another layer of egg white and the other part of the tissue and do the same thing. leave it on for about an hour or until its completely dry, then take it off and wash your face.

This combo is a great duo to get rid of blackheads, decrease the size of your pores, and skin turnover to get a good base on your skin. If you are also prone to milia (the little small pimple-like circles that seems to filled with water. But no. Those are filled by oil and dirt. Vaseline can increase your chances of getting those around your eye area. I’m prone to those and they will fade on their own but it took 3-6 months to actually get rid of my milia and my blackheads on my nose to to be better. Then I remove the foil, and remove the Vaseline with earsticks. After I cleanse only my nose very well with cleansing oil and that‘s it. My nose is after that really very soft and smooth. salacylic acid, retinol, or alpha hydroxy acids will help with oil production reduction and also gently exfoliating out the existing sebaceous filaments.
      My personal choice would be the Paula's choice 2% BHA(salacylic acid) exfoliating liquid as it has very few ingredients and most of them are soothing and nice on the skin while the active ingredient is absolutely going to woooork on those blackheads.

    • @katyadade1041
      @katyadade1041 Рік тому

      The girl in the video almost got it right.
      I use natural oils to clean my sebaceous filaments, because oil dissolves oil. Massaging my face with squalane once a week does wonders. You can feel like your blackheads become softer and gradually dissolve as you massage your face. And when you wash it off the skin is way cleaner and softer.
      I do it once a week, but many people use special oil cleansers every day, it’s great, but takes some time each day to double cleanse. But oils are great for cleansing oily skin!
      BHA (salicylic) acid helps my husband, but does nothing for me. It also requires using sunscreen religiously, which in my northern country is not that crucial, so I prefer not to use acids.

      @bongwaterdrinker7290it's not a misconception. When using pore strips you're not only ripping out your sebaceous fillaments and leaving tiny open pores on your face you're also peeling off a thin layer of your skin, any micro hairs and causing an unnecessary amount of irritation. And regardless of how much you try to prevent it your skin will produce more oil as a response to oil being forcefully removed. That's why salacylic acid and retinoids are such popular choices to prevent blackheads because they not only disolve and force out the sebum out of your skin slowly and help your skin adjust they also help your skin reduce unnecessary oil production.

    Paulas choice is great for most peoples acne, but for blackheads/large pours, use pacifica kale charcoal detox mask!! Please just trust me!❤ also, for acne scars(deep or red ones) - use cereve retinol reaurfacing serum, i swear all 3 of those products completely changed my skin🥹

      Whatever shes certified as, someone who thinks you can't use oil to remove oil is dumb af - there's a reason oil cleansers exist, as well as slugging

    I used to go to an acne treatment clinic. They recommended using Vaseline and water as a moisturizer at night if needed. Everything made me break out but that didn't. At the time I was also using benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.

      i just get confused because when i hear "certified" in my country it doesn't necessarily mean "i have a degree"
      it can mean "i just have a certificate"
      that's why i was surprised
      that's why i was asking :)

      Well when you choose to act dumb, don't blame others for calling you out. I'm so over "woke", oversensitive individuals who are literally perpetuating trash and nonsense on the Internet and play the victim when they are shut down by others.
