I have always struggled with large blackheads on my nose. I still use pore strips because it seems to be the only thing that keeps them at bay. I REGULARLY use Paula’s choice salicylic acid (the bha liquid exfoliant) and have been using it for two years and it has done absolutely nothing for my blackheads. Try a deep cleansing oil to massage and loosen the blackheads out. I extract it super easily with no harm that way. Cleansing oils are supposed to emulsify woth water so no worries about them doing harm to your oils but it is best do a regular cleanser afterwards to get rid of residue.
I have used to have really pronounced deep pores and sebaceous filaments, and I think I might know what’s going on here. If you’re in a polluted environment and do a deep clean followed by a really pervasive skin barrier like petroleum, your pores become slightly filled by the barrier and stay cleaner for longer. It doesn’t extract anything-it just prevents the sebum that remains in your pores from darkening as quickly or noticeably by keeping air out, and it evens out your texture a bit. I actually use a silicone scar cream deliberately for this now. However, I don’t use any kind of foundation or concealer, and you do have to take care to use an exfoliant, steam and deep clean your pores every 3 days, regardless.

@@rmnt9691baby no, that is not from the Vaseline. It's a moisture barrier. It CANNOT be absorbed by your skin. The particles are too big. It doesn't soften you at all. What it does is actually prevent you from being moisturized by external means lol. It also means your skin won't dry out since it's trapped beneath the vaseline. It isn't doing anything but gunking up your face and keeping your skin status in the same state as when you applied, no more moisture, no pollutants getting in, nothing getting out
the vaseline or petroleum jelly can actually cause more blockage in your pores. mainly because of the origin/what it’s made of but there is an alternative one that contains more natural and less harmful ingredients. it’s typically used as a moisturizer, but when your using it to remove blackheads it will only make it worse over time, if it continues to clog your pores. same thing with a super drying cleanser, while as they feel nice for oily skin and take the oils away for a bit, your skin starts to produce more oils than before in result of it being stripped of the oils it had. but wtv works best for you because not everyone needs the same product to achieve similar results. ❤

Yeah it isn't moisturizing you, it's just trapping your moisture in. This means your dry skin is caused by you losing moisture. You probably just simply need a humidifier and a moisturizer. The vaseline is only keeping it there but not doing much for you and can lead to build up problems
If your skin is flaking because you don’t use a moisturizer means you could have a fungal infection in those areas. It can be treated with over the counter meds that contain ketoconazole

this is all you need to to guys get egg whites from one egg and spread over your blackhead area, then take a tissue apart and dab it onto your face and let it soak in the egg white. do another layer of egg white and the other part of the tissue and do the same thing. leave it on for about an hour or until its completely dry, then take it off and wash your face. repeat this once a week before your usual skincare routine this works pretty well for me, so good luck :)
She’s right. Never leave Vaseline on your skin unless you have a dry skin condition and not having that occulsive layer can cause skin barrier damage. Blackheads can be taken care of using BHA
@@macy609 slugging doesn't work for everyone. usually people who slug, are those with a dry skin condition like eczema. And of course, whatever skin care you put on at night, should be washed off in the morning and sunscreen should be applied to the skin.
This worked for me. I saw and felt the blackheads come out. I think the vaseline softened my skin so much that they easily slid out when massaged. After I was done and a lot of blackheads had been removed, I used a salicylic acid toner. I did not break out after. There was no disaster.
Can you explain why coconut oil saved my skin? It was oily + dry and I started just using dove soap and coconut oil and it balanced out and now I don’t have to use coconut oil anymore, I use thin baby lotion

Slugging (what you are doing there with the vaseline) is extremely beneficial if you want to keep your skin plump and hydrated. It prevents transepidermal water loss
1. oil Imbalance can hit in different wayp. Sometimes body produces excess oils because it is too dry. Very true for mixed skin type. In that case moisturizer and something like Vaseline is counter- intuitively the solution. 2. In case of large pores, filling them with vaseline after a cleanse can prevent dust & gunk getting in and preventing breakouts. This dermatologist needs an education
It's best used over a lotion in the evening to help keep the moisture in over night and help prevent transepidermal water loss. But you should wash it off in the morning or skip it all together if you have acne prone skin.
Shoutout to all the girlies that put baking soda and lemon on their face or toothpaste to help stop acne but ended up making their skin inflamed, irritated and dried out and sometimes even have worse breakouts due to SLS in toothpaste... when all we needed was a 10 dollar bottle of 2% bha...
for a person who has been doing this for years, if you have a dry skin (I have, I'm allergic to any cosmetic products so I don't use anything on my face, especially facial cleanser and moisturizer) I only use soap to wash my face , Nivea cleanser and moisturize my face with Vaseline.. people ask how did I get my face so clear, told them this and they didn't believe me, still won't.. but that's what I'm doing.. since my mom forbid me to use products on my face
Same, struggled with blackheads & enlarged pores since forever, got random eczema that lasted for a solid 2 years where I HAD to use petroleum jelly all over - as described by a skindoctor here in Denmark. The change to my complexion was so great, I still use it on my face 3 years after I didn't need to anymore 🥰
I used to struggle with blackheads. I did exfoliate my face using physical scrubs and pore strips didn't give the outcome I wanted. After thoroughly studying AHAs and BHAs I started using 6% Salicylic acid ointment. I regularly applied it on my face for like 30 mins and it instantly peeled off the layer. It made my skin itchy and irritated while in the process but I saw the visible results for blackheads and acne too. It literally is the best
I also got black heads, but I used these products that made my black heads almost go away: (Clinique) Oil-Control Cleansing Mask (The Ordinary) BHA/AHA Serum (CeraVe) Body Lotion (CeraVe) Cleansing Foam (COSRX) low ph good morning And btw, don‘t touch your face especially not your nose, as long as you don‘t have to. And if you use Gua Sha stones, then you should clean them with water, soap and if you got acne or black heads, it‘d be good to sterilize it.
ikr 😭 for anyone lost, 🤲🏻 i’d start by double cleansing-using an oil based cleanser, following up with a water based cleanser-then going in with the paula’s choice salicylic acid toner. 💕 add some moisturizer and spf, and that’s basically my skincare routine 😂 but if anyone who sees this has preferred methods, please share~ hope this helps! :)
I use oils as skincare and it removes any blackheads that could ever exist. It removes them so effectively that it removes whites ones on a daily basis (not oxydated one) simply because it attracts it. :)
I used the elf primer grip over the summer for like two weeks and got the absolute deepest pimple I’ve ever had. It was purple and swollen for two months . It’s gone down quite a bit but I can still feel it under the surface 😭
I use pore strips once every six months. That’s if only if my blackheads became bad. I took out the blackheads with them, and I used salicylic acid in the morning and tretinoin at night. This combo is a great duo to get rid of blackheads, decrease the size of your pores, and skin turnover to get a good base on your skin. If you are also prone to milia (the little small pimple-like circles that seems to filled with water. But no. Those are filled by oil and dirt. Vaseline can increase your chances of getting those around your eye area. I’m prone to those and they will fade on their own but it took 3-6 months to actually get rid of my milia and my blackheads on my nose to to be better. I haven’t used a pore strip in about 1.5 years.
Isn’t their a theory that the reason we are oily is because our skin is actually dry? So if you hydrated better your body would stop the over production of oil thus reducing black heads?
Some people are only oily because they stripped the barrier and the skin tries to overcompensate, so it's not exactly dumb. There's a lot of people out there that think they have oily skin that really don't. It even says on the container that is non-comedogenic meaning it doesn't clog pores.
I love the selective filter she is using😂😂😂 Her forehead has human texture while the rest of the face has pre-puberty perfection. Clearly, I attribute it to vaseline covered with plastic😆 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I actually love using Vaseline putting as a mask to remove blackheads, and it really works for me!!! I'm doing it already for a long time and don't regret it at all. Before my nose was so full with black heads and after this mask with Vaseline my nose litteraly became so much cleaner
Well, I do it always after the shower, because then my face is clean and my pores open. I apply a thic layer of Vaseline on my nose but as well on lips (this makes my lips very soft after), then I cover my nose with a foil, and hold a hot/warm towel on it , hold a few minutes and then warm up again the towel and hold again for a few seconds (until the towel is cold) like this I do for 4-5 times. Then I remove the foil, and remove the Vaseline with earsticks. After I cleanse only my nose very well with cleansing oil and that‘s it. My nose is after that really very soft and smooth. (Sorry if bad english) But I can only say as well everyone has different body’s, so I can‘t tell if this is working for everyone.@@nousernamewhatsoever

I wanted to double check and went back to using pink grapefruit every time I showered and I broke out again and dried my face out something awful. It’s $12 a bottle but once a week is enough for me
salacylic acid, retinol, or alpha hydroxy acids will help with oil production reduction and also gently exfoliating out the existing sebaceous filaments. My personal choice would be the Paula's choice 2% BHA(salacylic acid) exfoliating liquid as it has very few ingredients and most of them are soothing and nice on the skin while the active ingredient is absolutely going to woooork on those blackheads.
The girl in the video almost got it right. I use natural oils to clean my sebaceous filaments, because oil dissolves oil. Massaging my face with squalane once a week does wonders. You can feel like your blackheads become softer and gradually dissolve as you massage your face. And when you wash it off the skin is way cleaner and softer. I do it once a week, but many people use special oil cleansers every day, it’s great, but takes some time each day to double cleanse. But oils are great for cleansing oily skin! BHA (salicylic) acid helps my husband, but does nothing for me. It also requires using sunscreen religiously, which in my northern country is not that crucial, so I prefer not to use acids.
@bongwaterdrinker7290it's not a misconception. When using pore strips you're not only ripping out your sebaceous fillaments and leaving tiny open pores on your face you're also peeling off a thin layer of your skin, any micro hairs and causing an unnecessary amount of irritation. And regardless of how much you try to prevent it your skin will produce more oil as a response to oil being forcefully removed. That's why salacylic acid and retinoids are such popular choices to prevent blackheads because they not only disolve and force out the sebum out of your skin slowly and help your skin adjust they also help your skin reduce unnecessary oil production.

It's the double cleansing doing the job.
Completely agree! Also, I love your shirt, the colors are just chefs kiss~🤌
Why do the "influencer" dermatologists use such heavy skin blurring filters? Show me your skin or I won't take you seriously.

yeah but she's talking about oily skin
Yeah but it's not what this video is about. Occlusives are the best thing to help retain moisture on the skin especially if you moisturize beforehand.
Definitely use a moisturizer first! Then the Vaseline will seal it in. Even better 💞
Learnt a new thing occlusive

Vaseline is a barrier. It doesn't do anything to your blackheads but TRAP them lol.

get egg whites from one egg and spread over your blackhead area, then take a tissue apart and dab it onto your face and let it soak in the egg white. do another layer of egg white and the other part of the tissue and do the same thing. leave it on for about an hour or until its completely dry, then take it off and wash your face.

1. oil Imbalance can hit in different wayp.

6%? Holy jesus usually 2% is more than enough lol but if it works it works.
I also got black heads, but I used these products that made my black heads almost go away:

(The Ordinary) BHA/AHA Serum
(CeraVe) Body Lotion
(CeraVe) Cleansing Foam
(COSRX) low ph good morning
And btw, don‘t touch your face especially not your nose, as long as you don‘t have to. And if you use Gua Sha stones, then you should clean them with water, soap and if you got acne or black heads, it‘d be good to sterilize it.

Girl really said disaster in 3 languages 💀

Clearly, I attribute it to vaseline covered with plastic😆

I actually love using Vaseline putting as a mask to remove blackheads, and it really works for me!!! I'm doing it already for a long time and don't regret it at all. Before my nose was so full with black heads and after this mask with Vaseline my nose litteraly became so much cleaner
How do you do it exactly?

Everyone tells you what not to do but they never tell you what you should do
Benzolperoxide helped me personally 🤷🏻♀️
salacylic acid, retinol, or alpha hydroxy acids will help with oil production reduction and also gently exfoliating out the existing sebaceous filaments.
So what would you suggest to use for black heads?
@bongwaterdrinker7290 thx!
Sis she’s making that area soft so she can squeeze the black heads out. :| she isn’t using vaseline as a medicine.
Also I feel like you’re just a paid influencer to promote certain ingredients and products that does absolutely nothing.
So many women use stuff you recommend for years and EVERYONE I know. I mean every single person I know they have feedback is it does nothing special. It’s same as moisturiser.
Also let’s talk again after you reduce the blurring filter. You’re starting to look crazy at this point I’m sorry
Thank you 💯
The Vaseline will soften dead skin and keratin plugs so they can be easily removed when cleansing without irritating the skin. I don't recommend squeezing or applying more than once a week.

If the doctors can't even find a cure for acne I don't trust anybody or anything😂😂😂😂 I've been to many dermatologist and they only made my skin worse ❤ I got trust issues now
Whatever shes certified as, someone who thinks you can't use oil to remove oil is dumb af - there's a reason oil cleansers exist, as well as slugging
