Life is a funny thing. Pierce is still bitterly disappointed about losing the Bond gig in this interview yet little did he know that he would soon get offered Bond again and go on to make possibly the best Bond movie of all in Goldeneye.
@Donna di Lode He is not speaking negatively about the Bond producers here in this interview. They always wanted Pierce once Roger Moore stepped down from role. He is talking about tv execs for Remington Steele who refused to release him from his contract to do James Bond even though that show had run its course at that stage. It’s understandable why he was annoyed by the situation.
HAHAH!!...There are so many people living in the '70s......and living now...including myself....Henry kissinger was in his 50s during the '70s...HELLO!!!
Ironically like somebody already said this couldn't have worked out better for him because they tried that whole dark James Bond with I believe it was Timothy Dalton which I absolutely hated and then after that they offered him the role which Goldeneye is my favorite by far
Goldeneye was written for Dalton. Thats why in comparison to Brosnan’s other films, goldeneye was much darker and grittier in the style of Dalton. It’s just 1986 replayed over in 1994 and Brosnan ended up getting it this time.

Goldeneye is a timeless beauty
Getting rejected because of his contract was the best thing that ever happened to him. Made them want him more and got a better movie out of it.

What a life lesson. When one door closes, a window opens. Always look for the window(fresh air), it's there as soon as we stop knocking on the door. 🌠

Dark James Bond? The silliness of the Moore era had run its course by the mid 80’s. Dalton was never given a chance to win over audiences

I miss his posh voice now 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
This doesn't sound posh, does it?
Wow this interview was before his first wife passed
Cassy died about 2 years before this
He lost the opportunity in 1987 to be the James Bond and chance goes to Thimothy Dalton and after 1995 Chance comes again.
interesting
