1:30 when things don't go our way it can be a very difficult time, but just smile and look at the positive side of life. After all everything happens for a reason.
I liked Brosnan as bond, I do find the Dalton and Brosnan period to be interesting with the what could've been and should've been. Dalton I feel was a brilliant bond who just needed one or two more films to really show audiences what he was trying to do, it's a shame that MGM's legal problems caused so many delays that by the time Goldeneye's script was ready Dalton just didn't want to do it by that point.
Correct. I also like Moore, Dalton and Lazenby but I never get to like the current bland blonde Bond who is having an identity crisis. He doesn't know whether he's Bourne, Statham or Rambo.
I don't know. Pierce looked too young and skinny when they first approached him to become Bond, although he might have done a good job. But he was perfect for the role later on and I remember when I went to see GoldenEye, some in the audience knew what he had previously been through and cheered as soon as he appeared. Then they settled back and enjoyed the show, confident that the character of Bond was in the right hands.
It’s amazing how genuine he sounds in these interviews. Even after having the same things asked a million times and having to talk to so many people :)
What's not very well known is that Sean Bean himself was also considered for Bond. He even did a screentest for The Living Daylights. Barbara Broccoli said this was her first choice, I believe. He basically got to play 007's doppelganger in Goldeneye, so it all worked out in the end.
When I was elected Secretary for my program, Cole Vocational Services, I had a picture of myself next to Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, the picture with him holding the martini glass, made me fall for him 😍😘right away, since the James Bond movie he was part of, was filmed 12 months after my birth, since it was filmed in 1997 (Tomorrow Never Dies), and the other ones he did were filmed when I was younger.
definatley. his personae would have worked better for the movie's tone and would have boosted audience confidence in looking forward to watching him in future Bond movies.
@@peterfranks6243 mmmmm yeah your right. its a difficult one though because Pierce and Cubby were very strict on the idea that he will never come back to that show, even if it was just for 6 more episodes after TLD (though that sounded like a good deal). but it was very daft of the tv producers to make their mind up on the final 60th day.
@@bonghunezhou5051 i suppose your right. they cancelled then it got popular again because pierce being involved with Bond so yeah your right. the last episodes were panned so there was no point in the end. poor pierce :(
Had Brosnan had scripts that Craig had early on, or Dalton had...he would be neck and neck with Connery, because Brosnan had everything Connery had, except a good script. Goldeneye was the only great Brosnan Bond film. I mean, imagine Casino Royale, but if it were made in 1992 Brosnan in the role.
So glad he got a chance to be James Bond because growing up his era introduced me to the world of 007, I just wish he was given a chance to do one last movie to make his run even with Craig’s maybe a more grounded film to wash away the bast taste of Die Another Day but at least he got to do the video game Everything or Nothing which I view as the finale to his Bond.
Always had a crush on pierce after watching him in Remington Steele even had a poster of him in my room sexy and cool like a long glass of cold water on a hot day 😍😍
In an alternate reality, Dalton would have had his turn earlier, either in the early and mid-1970s or the early 1980s; Brosnan would have starred in 1987 and 1989. But then, it would have been HE who would have been in the years-long limbo (blessing in disguise for him that he lost out the first time 'round).
parallel universe anything is possible.....The Beatles never break up,Elvis Presley and John Lennon are still alive and burritos is the national food of USA
So interesting seeing these interviews. They canceled RS and then renewed so many people, not only PB, had to come back to the show. But other interviews say how bitter and disappointed he was. You could tell in S5 how he plays his character as annoyed and bitter. His ex co-star Stephanie Zimbalist has mentioned that she was the one contracted to be in Robocop and even had a fitting. PB didn't have a contract at all.
Man, camera interviews were much more candid back then. Now every interview has some PR script spin to it bc no wants to be quoted online forever for all to see if they said something in bad taste.
I Like Brosnan but The Living Daylights did make $191 Million without him, outgrossing Roger Moore's last two films and a few other earlier films. Dalton was a fine bond, but maybe too brutal and serious for audiences in 1987, however the two films he did hold up better than the last two Brosnan made.
@@CRITTERBUSTERS ooooo i dont know, the world is not enough is great though . license to kill still has valid critisms against it though, but yes Die another was a joke hahah
@@DafyddBrooks Licence to Kill’s criticism for me is sketchy at best, lots of people said it was too much like Miami Vice or Lethal Weapon and too brutal. However lots of bond films took influence from what was popular at the time so that’s an invalid argument for me. One of the better arguments against Licence to Kill is that it’s production design is uneven (it looks nice one minute then ugly the next) some of the supporting cast may not be the best and the ending is perhaps a little too neat and tidy for a gritty bond adventure. World is not enough I thought started off promising but it has so many problems with its narrative and Renard was wasted as a villain. I think Both Brosnan and especially Dalton were given the short end of the stick when it came to their films. Dalton never got his much needed 3rd film thanks to studio lawsuits and Brosnan kept getting handed subpar scripts after Goldeneye (which by the way was originally written for Dalton).
@@CRITTERBUSTERS Yep I'll agree on the 3rd Dalton movie part. I wish he got that too and had his contract fulfilled and maybe even have a 4th film as well :) But to go from PG rated movie to a 15 rating was not a very wise move at all. I 'll forgive it like Quantum in that in went through a writers strike and was released in summer 89 but it shouldn't need to be so brutal at all. Dalton seemed like he wasn't going to perform the lighter, romantic or comedic moments in TLD which I think effected the movie and had he done so, audience would have welcomed him more. If Brosnan wasn't going to be in TLD today, Twitter and UA-cam would go wild and full of hatred. so its interesting seeing all the demonstrators outside of NBC giving their support for him and I'll always be shocked at why he wasn't brought back for a 5th film and he was essentially fired in March 2004 :( good thoughts though man :)
@@DafyddBrooks To each their own, I liked the brutality of Licence to Kill, it was consistent with the tone of the story and villain. Quantum of Solace I feel was legitimately awful, not because of the brutality but because of its crappy editing , boring story and lame villains. It was a second rate rip off of Licence to Kill in my eyes.
The thing is most of us remember two or three bonds growing up if your of a certain age . I can’t say I grew up with Connery more or Moore more . It's wasn't his time to be James Bond in 1986. His time would be 1994. Brosnan's faith and patience propel him to the James Bond role. He was not meant to be the 4th James Bond but the 5th James Bond. Fate has other plan. 😊😊
Connery, Moore and Brosnan were the best Bond's. Dalton was also great. Do not like Craig as Bond. Watched 20 odd minutes of his first Bond role and never again.
