We raised our feeder pigs with our chickens, they all got along, then we put them out in the woods to clear it out and it is working wonderfully. We have two electric wires, one about 6 inches off the ground and one about a foot. I think we would be fine with one wire. When we move the pasture we have lure them across the line with treats. They are very respectful of the fence.
It was a good move turning them out in the barnyard for a week or two it conditions them to know there's a safe place you can go if they have gotten in trouble
Your orange kitty isn't "skiddish" he's a real sweetheart and as most orange, male cats, a real lover! You better watch your wife with those pigs or she'll become two attached and those 2 lil piggies won't be going to the butcher shop!
A friend use to clean fence rows with pigs. Put up a single wire and turned them in. They cleaned up everything. Moved rock and logs and ate all the brush. Better than a bulldozer.
It was so nice that one of your subscribers had you in mind and found some pigs for you. I think you said his name is Randy, so I want to thank him also. They are so cute and Rebecca has fell in love , I don’t blame her. You have some wonderful people pulling for you Evan. We all know how good you take care of your animals , and we want you to succeed on your farm. I will be watching these pigs grow. God bless, love ya.
I''m convinced now more than ever. If and when you ever decide to get your old well working again. You should have it tested- One side a decade old Hog pasture. The other side a grain field that you converted for hay, and in between sitting a the bottom where both drain. Your well may not be potable for humans or the animals your raising for meat.
You and Rebecca might want to find someone to share the butchering job with. It’s a lot less intimidating with more help. Will cut cost per pound down dramatically. Soon you’ll get efficient and do all your own pork, venison, beef..
I am glad it worked out for you to be able to raise the two pigs. and you can tell Rebecca has a way with animals. The pigs will be okay in barn for a while, we used to do that when we had pigs, keep them in the barn until they got a little older and then turn them out into a larger pasture.
i heard a few guys sayin they raise chickens, ducks, goats and pigs and buy one type of feed in bulk, they get a thousand pounds at a time, sounds good, but not sure everyone has a place like that, good luck
The white lineback looks like a Hereford, but the other with the red body and white stockings looks like a Berkshire. Absolutely love that Berk. Beautiful conformation!
Your goats would clear a lot of those areas, all the high stuff and the pigs the lower stuff and till the ground. Why don't you use your goats to do more work for you, that's what they love? Also save a lot of cost of feed.
One suggestion at that pen corner is 3-4 carabiners to connect the two panels. Lets you gain access and it is quick, cheap and easy, and no wooden post required. Especially handy if the plan for those panels is short term. Don't remember where I saw it, but I have used it with goats with great effect for temporary fences. I keep a handful of them in my fencing toolbox/stool.
Those pigs are so cute. They don’t seem to be afraid of Rebecca. Keep the videos coming and I will keep watching. Everything you do is so interesting. May you both have a nice and blessed day.
GREAT !!👍👍 Sure glad you are raising your hogs, now you’ll be able to fill the freezer before winter. Thanks for sharing with us and looking forward to seeing more about your raising the pigs. Fred.
Those bent t-posts are pretty easy to straighten out. I've used a couple of trees growing close together or a piece of farm equipment with heavy braces to straighten dozens of them.
Yay for getting pigs! I love pigs. The opening shot and the walk down to the barn for this video was absolutely gorgeous. I think you've got the prettiest farm I've ever seen. (I used to live in a farming area when I was younger)
So glad you have pigs again injoy watching them grow! Glad that guy hooked you up! Looks like the dogs are doing good!! Just love your homestead so beautiful!♡♡♡♡
Love your little piggies. They are so adorable and I’m looking forward to seeing them grow. I know you will keep them safe when you put them out away from the barn.
The grass looks lush and green. We finally had some decent rain the last 3 days here in East Anglia in GB. Sadly too late for a lot of farmers. We hardly had any during April and nothing in May.
At 828 I can see a lot of tin on the barn where water could get in, I know you guys are busy but do even a temp fix. It will rot out your wall sills and be way more work to fix later.
Nice looking pigs! So glad you’re going to benefit raising them and we get to follow along. Farmer Tyler Ranch has a video showing his own mixed pig feed that I tried and it is great!
You definitely are not afraid to take on projects and work hard to accomplish them. Your cat is very pretty. Watching you grown the pigs will be fun. Will you raise food for them?
With all the animals that you all are getting you should buy your grain from a local farmers and ether have it ground or buy yourself a small hammer mill and grind it your self .works out a lot cheeper.
Not farm related but what is the vlogging stick/setup you had on the wire roll when you were chatting about the pigs ? Love the videos I am currently hunting out land for my own small holding (UK) so your videos are very inspiring, Thanks.
Have you got deworming scheduled to help them grow faster? Neat that someone helped you get some for this year. All the critters looking happy & sassy. How are the boys doing up front? Do they keep the grass knocked down? The other great thing is how the garden culls can be utilized by the piggies to make the best bacon you can have home made. Y'all keep Well & Happy
Will the pigs be at butcher weight by mid to late October? I would think they might still be a little light by then, but I guess in times like these, we don’t always get exactly what we want.
This is off topic of this video, but what happened to the little fainting goat named Finney, from last summer? Did Gracie and her kid ever stop bullying him?
Probably one of the better homestead channels. I love watching you work

Pigs in barn are just fine! Animals get along with each other much better than people know how too. Hey, pet those cats once in a while will you?
Rebekah loves her critters ... what a sweet heart she has!
The bent t-post you can put in your hitch on truck and muscle straight 👍
That’s awesome that a viewer hooked you up. 👏
It was a good move turning them out in the barnyard for a week or two it conditions them to know there's a safe place you can go if they have gotten in trouble

Looks like the cats are working well....you might get a batch of kittens, too.
Congratulations on your "New" enterprise . We wish you luck.
The cuter they are, the better they taste!

Add some extra ties at the at the lower part of your fence, if a hog can get his snout under the fence, he'll get the rest of him under.
i heard a few guys sayin they raise chickens, ducks, goats and pigs and buy one type of feed in bulk, they get a thousand pounds at a time, sounds good, but not sure everyone has a place like that, good luck
PIGS IN SPACE!!!!

Pigs are really easy to process you should try it.
Nice to see that people can be nice too. We all tend to forget that watching the evening news. Glad to see pigs on your homestead.

You can tell you are not a cat person Evan. Lol!
Those are the tamest pigs I've ever seen. So cute.

Your pronunciation of Hereford was closer the first time you said it. Great video as always.
Congrats on the pigs! Can you go over mixing your own feed by chance?
an easy way to straighten Tee posts is to use a trailer hitch like on your truck
Yes!!!
