    copied from the updated manual I've just got...
    Set Menu: Choose the set menu icon on the main screen interface, click the confirm button to enter into the interface shown below. In this interface, the LCD backlight can be set to always on or auto turn off after 3 minutes no action.
    The inverter also integrates with limit function, preventing excess power from going to the public grid. Select the limit mode, the inverter will work under limit mode. The inverter's output power will be determined by load power.
    "Shortcut" option sets the input voltage point of the inverter disconnecting from the wind turbine. "Dumpload" option sets the dump load resistor shift-in input voltage point.
    "Current curve adjust" option sets the P-V(power to voltage) curve of the inverter to fit the P-V curve of the wind turbine.
    Actually not much use however based on the above you want the
    "internal limiter" unchecked
    "Shortcut" set to something like 100v as my head is saying you dont want it disconnecting until its a serious gust
    "Dumpload" set to something like 90v as again my head is saying why would you want the dumpload kicking in before then?

    mine seems to have a timer once the shortcut has been activated and voltage drops to zero (when I short the turbine) maybe to let things cool a bit? I can hear it click and it all starts up again with no power to the dump load. The dump load also acts to reduce voltage so when the dumpload point is reached it will divert some power to it to keep the voltage below the shortcut setting so the settings need to be different, maybe 70 volt for dumpload and 85/90 for the shortcut when it disconnects the inverter from the mill and all power goes through the resistor. You can use a three phase switch to shut the turbine down then switch off the power to the inverter, switch it back on switch off the turbine shut down and it will all start up again, output from a turbine can increase really fast from a gust of wind and the inverter cant follow it fast enough so if the dumpload is set fairly low it has a longer time to adjust before it gets to the shortcut voltage and disconnects. It needs playing with.

    I think this unit has a snag. I have the same and hoocked it up to the drillpress for a test and like youres it puts on voltage at the dump terminals same as shown in display from generator but when i connected the resistor voltage goes to zero. And heat element is cold. It only came on when I reaced the dump voltage limit. So it seems to work ok on mine.

    Have you played with the dumpload tickbox, voltage box. I wonder if "shortcut" is also brake? and that tickbox + voltage to play with?

    When you opened the unit one of the 3 turbine inputs looped to the dump load directly....seems strange it does that?

    Have you tried feeding the turbine into a battery bank or capacitor bank just to smooth out the voltage.....I wonder wheather as well as your inverter stuggling with over voltage but also the mppt tracking might not be able to keep up with such a rapidly changing voltage and amperage.....cap bank might cure both issues....good work and good luck look forward to your next vid

Really appreciate this as would be a good starting point for many on here Maybe we can combine our knowledge on here to get the ideal settings for the istabreeze 1000, 1500 and 2000. I’ve found so far that using small settings at the low voltages has already helped. But struggling to get any good power from the unit. My max is around 700w briefly for the i2000

    Send that unit back. Dont get the wind turbine version. Grab the other one. Continue to feed the power to your batteries and then run the inverter from the batteries.

  • @paramax55
    @paramax55 2 роки тому

    Do like The Broken Pallet said... use the other version. Mine has been awesome for the money. But I like solar to produce power, charge controllers to charge, batteries to buffer, and inverters to invert. My setup is solar->charge controller->batteries->inverter->grid. Your charge controller(s) is/are working to charge the batteries... try hooking the inverter to the batteries and operate it that way.

    for a 2 kw turbine you need two grid inverters, since that type of grid inverter is 1.8kw of effective power. The dunpload power resistor must be replaced with a higher quality one

  • @garys-half-baked-offgrid-dream
    @garys-half-baked-offgrid-dream 2 роки тому +1

    Excuse my naivety but If this is grid tied I would of been thought the dump load only kicked in if the grid went down?
    When I was shopping for mine there is an older version with no export limit function and a newer one with a export limit function.
    Have you got a newer one with the limit function activated? Those setting screens look confusing as hell, I am not looking forward to this now.
    Failing that, turn everything up to 11 and let her fly! 🤣

    I have similar device in use only 1500w IstaBreeze 24V feeding it. Grid tie inverter factory settings, I believe , Shortcut and Dumpload not ticked 52V last setting 19A. 23V first setting 0A, I have. One day in high wind this resistor was glowing and inverter not producing electricity. I set brake to wind generator and it went normal soon. Then it started to work again when wind generator brake removed. This device brake seems to work only when grid goes off. And usually it makes 0-200W, in high winds up to 900W but average wattage is low. Solar panels a lot better. Actually it is same device as solar inverter, may be it is working better with battery setup.

    I have a gti 2000g-wal connected to a tesup zeus 3.0 (looks the same as insta2000) and have the same problems overvoltage at wind peaks, dumpload switches on. Max output i never seen above 1400watts. Above 7 bft i short the turbine to prevent it will break. In menu i switch dumpload and shortcut off but it still switch to dumpload 🤔. How i connect capacitors to this to buffer overvoltage ? Regards from Holland, cheers Arjen

      Unfortunately I do not know how to make capacitors work in these systems. I've gotten a lot suggestions to try capacitors, particularly for working as battery banks, but I've never seen a working example.
      Mine the dump load is on all the time. There's never any shorting or anything else, the selections in the menu do nothing :/

      Dumpload should not be on all the time, mine only switch on at windgust (dumpload is not set on in menu, but still switches above about 100v) . Voltage is fluctuating fast and inverter is not fast enough, so need a bigger buffer capacitor or battery

    Your screen shown at time 13:00 needs to configured properly to match your wind turbine specs.
    Your dumpload is triggered when turbine output voltage goes over 60V.
    Your shortcut setting of 75V will short-circuit your 3 turbine inputs to stop the turbine from spinning for turbine voltages in excess of 75V.
    Your wind curve current settings also appear to be too aggressive for the wind turbine. This video on programming midnite classic wind curves should help explain since your controller seems to work similar ua-cam.com/video/7SRKDaXDZaI/v-deo.html
