God Hand is sensational. I still do not understand how it has not yet somehow become Mainstream in this era of modern Pop culture being also an priceless source of potential memes, rells and super memorable moments.
Im glad that it's not mainstream at all so that fake fans don't swarm the game and make it a tiktok trend like what happened to leon and re4 however I do wish that it had a sequel
Total masterpiece. A good review as well! You should watch Mike Kobe, incredible in overall and to see how he can deal with the crowds, guy's a true Alexander. And it's a crime not to mention a genius music by genius Masafumi Takada. And the characters, they're so good...
Making a video called “God Hand Combat Review” and not mentioning counter hits or the mid-air roundhouse kick a single time is a crime (you missed the two most important free moves by the way, the other one is Laughing Dragon Punch). God Hand at it’s core is a game about counter hits, hard mode will make you realize this real quick as enemies become immune to launch attacks unless they’re stunned in some way (good luck breaking an enemies guard in Death Shudder) or counter hit. And counter hits will give you an instant full height launch which combined with the mid-air roundhouse kick makes it the best crowd control option in the game by far. And “God Hand has bad crowd control options” is just wrong, counter hits give you all the crowd control you’d ever need. It’s certainly not easy (Death Shudder took me 95 attempts on my first hard mode playthrough) but crowd control options are plentiful if you know what you’re doing. Crowd control in this game is also extremely fun, basically turns the game into a bowling simulator.
Not to really refute any of the points you make but originally this was a more general review that I've since rebranded as a 'combat review' because I plan to make more in-depth videos for other action games when I get the time. Other than that yeah I don't have the perspective of someone who's played the game for dozens of playthroughs so I likely missed some stuff that'll be obvious to some but that's guaranteed to happen no matter what so eh I'm happy with what I made here.
@@Ghooly You should always go into a game seeking the peak amount of fun especially if the game has depth in the combat like God hand or devil may cry or street fighter. (Also quick review video tip)When making a review please go in depth of what the game you are reviewing specializes in, not saying you don't know how to make a video or saying all this to insult you, I'm just saying this because not only will you have more fun with the games that you play seeking depth into a games combat system but also many people who make reviews never go in depth on a games combat system and just say oh it's good and start talking about random nonsense like story rather than the main attraction the gameplay and i'd just like to see less of that on the platform so I'll end it here I apologize for having you read an essay and have a nice day💪
Finally started playing this game after waiting for so long, and let me tell you it's a really charming game and even though difficult it's still amazing
Hmmm Disagree on crowd control, you are well equipped to deal with them all. Just search Milk Koba and watch. There are contextual moves that weren't mentioned like the kick launcher and forward launcher, when both used they turn enemies into cannonballs with good hitbox sizes you can setup to destroy crowds.
Yeah I'll be real I kinda half assed this video. If i ever come back to God Hand I'm covering it again from top to bottom because there's a lot of stuff I didn't know/didn't triple check.
@@Ghooly On the note of God Hand, would you be up for a look at a game that has fairly similar aspects to GH that came out relatively recently? Came out in 2023 and goes by name of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos. It's a prequel to the Zeno Clash games. It's not as complex as God Hand but on its own it has interesting things to offer. Different martial arts styles all with unique animations, stance switching mid-combo, different directional dodges that can lead into unique attacks, etc. I recommend it for stuff beyond the gameplay too. Awesome game.
@@Ghooly I didn't expect the quick reply, thanks very much! I'm glad it's sounding interesting! Clash is a pretty long game, around sixteen hours. Zeno Clash 1 and 2 are around six and twelve hours, if you find yourself interesting those. Oh, and mayhaps the upcoming Immortal: And the Death that Follows may prove interesting too. A friend of mine descriibed it as a Hindu Mad Max Beat-em-Up. Love me some action games. Discovered your channel not even twenty minutes ago and will probably be watching your Lament of Innocence vid while working on some Art Fight stuff. Good luck and wish you fun on future proects!
Oh emulation is absolutely an option it's how I played the game in the first place. I just like to mention the physical versions of these games because I'm a collector and I like talking about that side of things

One reason: Devil May Cry had released later on, so that game earned mainstream status
@@rayminishi689DMC came out first
difficulty is a reward not a punishment
Alright calm down badass
It's so good to see people enjoy this gem of a game, great review and great video as well!
One of my favorite PS2 games. Wish it gets remastered and ported to the Nintendo Switch and other platforms.
You can play it on an emulator, with a lot of graphical goodies as well
We want a sequel not a remaster.
The game is also available digitally through PSN on the PS3.

Waiting for remake ❤

For me, the best part of the game is arena 51.
It's the best challenge I've ever played in my life!!!!!
This is a really good review!!!
Thank you! I want to do another one on this soon that's a little more in depth
Where did you get your info for this video?
Various community posts for certain things I didn't see and a few developer interviews for the more technical stuff
I think the game is almost perfect . Has flaws here and there . But it’s very easy to pick up and play
Can someone actually tell me who tf is Alexander tho?
Alexander the Great
Nice review bud, but why be scared to mention emulators??? For rare and pricey games it's the only way to play these games, smh
