We can enjoy a considerable amount of benefits from these machines which is easy to fix the strict form. Your guidance with the demonstrations and the talk-session are so exciting!
We flew out a few years back to train here for a week and Steve and Bev treated us so nice.... got a posing session in with Steve and it was the coolest experience of my entire career. This is a great place!
thanks for the tour for us people leaving far way, loving the gym, their equipment and just the sounds of dumbels and plates at the back!!! just perfect raw environment... Its fantastic to see all machines and lets say new suff and training content as always entertaining and educative thanks a lot Jhon!!
That squat pro machine looks awesome, but my favourite piece of leg equipment is the A-Frame belt squat. Excellent for overloading the quads without the risk of injury to your shoulders and takes the pressure off the lower back. Has helped me improve my overall squat and increased the size of my legs!
Peffer’s athletic club in Scranton. An old school hardcore gym I was fortunate enough to visit. The owner ( Frank Peffer) is awesome to talk to and has a wealth of knowledge. He actually made half of the equipment in the gym.
Honestly thank you so much for making this video I live on Long Island and had no idea this place existed, expect me there in the near future. Great video and keep up the great work, really do enjoy the content you put up
I live in a small city Perth Western Australia, I saw a young girl coming out of a gym and walking up the road, she was wearing a Bev Francis hoodie. I stopped her and asked where she got it from. She told me her and her husband had been to powerhouse gym in NY. wow that’s great, a dream of mine.
I just feel inadequate. My home gym has a power rack, a bench, a pulldown/cable row and hyperextension and one big arse adjustable db i can load up for DBRows and oly bars. Has nice smell of mower fuel, a few spiders and enough dirt on the floor to give it character. Only ever 70s music played in it.
@@dickJohnsonpeter Yep im happy with what ive got. Some of those machines John uses look pretty cool. I havent been in a gym other than my shed for probably 20years and nack then most machine were crappy other than pulldowns and cable rows. If i had a gym membership i just hand around the squst rack and deadlift platform anyway lol. Cheers mate🍻
Great gym john thanks for showing us this amazing gym cant wait to c were u r going next mountain dog rocks always steve is always a straight shooter no holding back on nothing also great interview
Great Video !!!! Thank You !!! for the tour and the introductions to the new and favorite equipment !!! I'm definitely going to plan out something for me to work out for the summer April, May, June, July, Aug of 2021 !!!! Man, this definitely got me motivated and inspired !!!! Environment is everything !!!!!
Next time you are in New York, you should go visit CompleteBody gym in Manhattan! Awesome place. Would definitely make my list of the best gyms in the US.
If you were not such a great guy I'd be jealous as hell, who's kidding I envy you so much getting to go to these places but I couldn't be happier for you!
14:14 there's a gym at my Mom's village in the Philippines that has a leg press similar to that except theirs has a diamond plate platform instead of plain rubber or grip tape platform. I was the first cousin to show my cousins that leg pressing 600 is possible and pressing 300 in the off brand hammer strength chest press is possible 🇵🇭💪😎
Legging pressing 600lbs? Not impressive to me at all. I could do that 8-12 reps on a good day within my first year of training. Now 300 on the chest press machine. Crazzzzzzy! I still can’t do that and my chest is actually my best area
@@mountaindog1 I guess not only me would absolutley love to see you over here in Europe or in Asia and Africa as well, visiting local gyms. Like some other guys mentioned before, you should have an own Netflix Series. I already can imagine the trailer "Alright..."
Hey John trying to increase my bench, deadlift, squat, and ohp. Max for bench is 190 Max for squats is 300 Max for deadlift is 255 Max for OHP is 105 I was thinking about doing some program👇 below. Im loving these gym tour videos. I actually like to go to multiple gyms just to try out the different equipment and overall gym vibes for fun. I found that hardcore gyms are still around.....they just arent near the beach looking pretty like golds. I feel like a child in a candy store just browsing the equpiment and get happy when i use a machine that feels like it was built just for me hahaha. Give a heads up when you go to dave Fischers powerhouse again so i can go have a picture haha
A gym isn't a gym without a Nautilus pullover. Panetta makes some amazing chest and back pieces. Wish they were more avalible in the States. Awesome video as always John
Nice gym. I was going to visit this gym early last year whilst on vacation in NYC, but other commitments prevented me from going. Maybe on the next trip :)
Mtl has some cool gyms. Of course u have the Ben Weider. Used to have Caruso's ( Arnolds photographer Jimmy Caruso) U had Winston's. (IFBB judge Winston Roberts) U have Atlantis ( home of the Atlantis equipment) , u have Golds where Roy Callender works . There's a few !
This was a great tour of an iconic gym 🙌🏼 Unfortunately, the brand name franchise gyms do not carry the older machines that us "mature" trainers love. Gotta love Nautilus lat pull-down. that is one machine that can change your body & quickly. The interview with Steve was great. Seems like a straight down the line kinda guy...
The best gym I have ever been to was the dungeon (temple gym). The days before instagram, where people just went there to lift heavy shit. I miss the old Temple!
Thx for sharing John Meadows. These are awesome videos. Can you check out Pure Muscle and Fitness in Burlington Ontario . It's Dorian Hamilton's gym in Canada
Check out Madhouse in Lithia Springs, Georgia close to Atlanta theres really not another gym like it in Georgia. It’s definitely a hard core gym. They have most of the equipment I’ve ever seen in any gym and then some. No real cardio equipment lol
Really enjoy your channel! Can you explain how to use the True Nutrition Glucose Disposal Agent. I am trying to increase my insulin sensitivity and keep my A1C down. Thank you again for all your hard work!
you can spread it out and take 3-4 caps over the course of the day 5 minutes before heavier carb meals, or take pre or post, or pre and post with your carbs

Bev Francis is one of my favorite bodybuilders from back in the day, alongside Christa Bauch, Denise Hoshor & Denise Rutkowski. ❤
How many times does John say “this is my favourite”. He’s like a kid in a candy store. Good to see his enthusiasm. Made me laugh.
:)
Real gymrats and gym nerds are like that when they see equipment they like
Seeing John light up talking about gym equipment is super motivating, it’s all about the journey!
it is!
R.I.P. champ😣
I wish more gyms had the belt squat machine.
This is my former gym when I still lived in NY. Best gym ever. That's what I miss the most about not living there anymore.
My salute to the men of culture who also enjoy seeing gym equipment from other places.

Who thinks Golds Venice is overrated?
i got to train there for a week back in 1995, i was so stoked to train there - was a dream come true but now from what i've heard it's not the same
It looks now Hollywood plastic fantastic gym.
Its almost like planet fitness now except there’s no lunk alarm lmao. H
Grounddog 4Life It got too commercial.
thats the fake Golds
Bevs is great. Long Island !!!
Yes! Always wanted to see a full walk through of this gym. Always see clips but never the whole gym. Thanks John!
God bless you John!
Thanks Steve!
