The BBC Gardeners World Live Young Landscaper Awards (YLA): Two teams of young landscapers are given a design brief. In 2019 Professor David Stevens designed two front gardens - one 'Heritage' and one contemporary 'Argent'. Heritage was built by Matthew Wood of Myerscough College & Sam Gordon of the Gardenmakers. Argent was built by Reece McKay & Brian Hughes, both of CAFRE.

love the high line garden, its green plant and naturalistic look and romantic.
I should like to know who would give this a thumbs down. Very interesting indeed.
Lovely! Just lovely!! The horses galloping in the water feature, are my absolute favorite.💗💗💗 God bless you so very much for all of your time sharing and teaching us about gardens.🕊🙏🌻
Thank you!
Boy, those gardens are just wonderful - thanks for posting and your brilliant commentary.
Yes, I’m learning to appreciate the different shades, textures, and shapes of greenery. Grasses are so graceful and come in so many useful heights. 🌾🌾🌾🌾
So many lovely ideas ... thanks for taking us with you!
I loved the naturalist look, the curved gardens (especially that amazing wooden bench) and the idea of creating your own waterfall effect. Thanks!

Thank you!
Many great ideas here provide mere mortal gardeners (such as me) with inspiration and new directions. Many thanks for this compelling montage of innovative show gardens at Gardeners World Live, Alexandra.
Thank you!
Nice to see what was on show at the event. I think this is the coldest June we've had in a while but it looks like you had a lovely time in Birmingham. I'm a huge fan of green gardens so it's nice to see it trending at the moment. Loving the horse sculptures too.
It is cold, isn't it? We were scorching last year at this time
Yes, we could all do with a bit of last year's heatwave right about now.
Wow❤️
Watching your channel from Australia........its excellent. Thank you so much. Anita
Thank you!
I think your calendar's a bit off Alexandra! Tis Thursday today :D Well, I'm glad cottage & wildlife gardens are still on trend because we gardeners should be making every effort to save bees & other creatures from extinction. I miss garden shows, there are none that I know of here in Portugal, so thanks for this lovely & informative video :)
Although I usually upload on Saturdays I like to get anything current out as soon as it's ready. And long may cottage and wildlife planting thrive, I agree
I like the idea of repurposing big containers for planting. I really liked the dahlias and veg planted in the old tin washtub. I'm seeing a lot more use of Kniphofia lately; they seem to be very popular.
I think many of the plants with strong shapes and colours are getting popular. Thank you
Your curious mind makes every video interesting, whether a garden show, a trouble spot, or various seasons in your own back garden. Now, please ship me just one full-size horse sculpture. I have the perfect location for a simple hitching-post fence. : ) (if wishes were horses)
I went to this last year and all the seasoned pros had these trolleys for their plants. Where do you get them? I'm hoping to go again next summer.
I like the glimpse of the show. I’ll be there Sunday. Looking for ideas and hoping to pick up a bargain or two.
Hope you enjoyed it
The Middle-Sized Garden it was rather busy and we had torrential down pour. Really enjoyed listening to Adam Frost. Some lovely gardens and ideas.
Who's the artist to created the horses? and how were they made? They are absolutely amazing!
Great video. Nice. Your New friend is here. Stay connected and stay blessed.
Thank you
Love the horses, however I think it would be difficult to translate the idea into a regular house garden.
True, but a regular gardener could use the foot splashing effect in a small garden pond, though. I am imagining a nice retriever or pointer puppy statue in a little pond with bubblers at his feet to make it look like he's frolicking and whatnot.
Yes I rather fancied teasing my family by pretending I'd bought one of these giant water features- I liked the idea of having water rushing through in a realistic place though
wouldn't those stones be a hassle for the plants? i wonder how water would go in if plants are covered with stones
The water flows over the stones and goes under them. And they may help water retention because they'll stop water evaporating from the soil.
@@TheMiddlesizedGarden i see, thanks for the explanation
Sorry, the disproportional horses combo is just a hideous kitch.
Perhaps smaller animals, like birds could it be modelled after and rendered in a bit more abstract and organic manner.
All the rest - inspiring, as always, thanks!
Fair enough! I rather agree with you
Wonderful!
Thank you!
