  • This is the making #2 of Andy bass&guitar's original bass model number 3.
Please feel free to comment if you have any questions or messages.
In this video, I first made the body template of the bass.
Then I made the tailpiece to hold the strings and the control box to attach the pots, jacks, etc.
Both were made using a lot of ebony and brass, so it was a lot of work...
Still, I am very happy to see the whole body of the bass.

    1200-1500 amzn.to/32iG29c
    Metal Polishing also Picard

For masking tape, 3M is good. For high frets on guitars, 6mm is recommended.
    amzn.to/32H0gZ9
Dremel 4000 rotor. Great torque, but hot! If you can, get a 4000 because it can do a lot of things.
    amzn.to/2Kh3NH5
I heard there is a new one called 4300. If you can use the base plate of a StuMac, this might work too.
    amzn.to/3712F48
3M body polishing compound, this is enough for a guitar.
    amzn.to/34WHuhO
It's good to have a lot of stuff, orange English oil for fingerboard
    amzn.to/2Kh4G2n
This cloth is very good. Recommended. Seriously.

I really like the control box idea! I'm thinking of a similar approach for future electric guitar builds. Beautiful work!

You have inspired me to make another guitar. I have this beautiful old wood from the 50’s. Going to make a 12 string electric. Thankyou for your great videos! Your work is a blessing!

I enjoy your videos very much, and I am looking forward to the third part in this series. At the risk of being a busy-body or sounding like a know-it-all, I wanted to mention one thing, and I do this only for your safety. Please do not drill through metal while holding the piece with your other hand. Secure the workpiece in a vise or with a minimum of two clamps. Drill bits can grab metal and cause it to spin.

Do get a respirator. You don't want that ebony dust in your lungs!

      That is correct.
This ebony tingles just by touching the powder.
And my mask and goggles are perfect!
      Thank you!
