Why not offer it in the ATSF "Cat Whisker" paint like the locomotives you featured in the video? Warbonnets have been done so much modelers would like something different.
Interesting choice to bring back the FT design over all the other f units and whatnot. Why not the F7s? You did a sound value run of those ages ago and now they’re near impossible to find - could be an affordable alternative with some tweaking to the electronics and tooling, I wouldn’t mind a spectrum level release either - we need to have F units that aren’t the globe models/Athearn tooling nor the million dollar whoever else makes them. Proto is affordable right? You can tell they’re counting on the warbonnet design to do the numbers, by the way I’m not a fan of the headlight arrangement (the F3s/F7s had the Mars and headlight while the FTs did not). Those are some nice electronics… A shame those don’t hide the old tooling. Also no B units? The earlier DCC silent run had them, plus the FTs were typically seen in A-B pairs connected by a drawbar… Surely a matching A-B pair with sound value would make a great seller. A very strange series of choices, but alas I’m not a big wig at bachmann. Would be nice though! Pushing around shopping carts sucks.
All that work to put sound in it, and the lower headlight is literally just a decal. I get that it's a budget model, but it would have looked better to just leave the lower headlight off entirely (since some of them didn't have it) than do a terrible-looking fake one.

Several santa fe fts had mars lights, 6 of the warbonnet units were retrofitted with them
Well if you want affordable Fs, have you considered the Mainline F7s? They are really solid
Also there is the Stewart EMD F7, which is about the same price as a Bachmann, with a much better mechanism
Neat locomotive! I have one in Santa Fe paint but mine is in dc. It was actually manufactured in 1939-1945. Not 1938.
Any plans to offer a Santa Fe "Catwhisker" unit?

That bottom headlight is an absolute joke.
what were they thinking
Id consider getting one of they offered other A & B units to go with it.

Yeah the Stewart Hobbies FT is a third it’s price and is an objectively better model in everyway
Epic work!
I love it but I think the the Santa Fe Should have a Functional Mars Light
I TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK
No I will
@@BuckeyeTrains uhhh no
@@cameronthehedgehog261yt yes
I don't think NYC ever had FT's painted in the lightning stripe scheme. They were in an earlier scheme
How do I stop the auto stop feature I leave it running if I don't touch in 10 seconds it starts to come to a full stop
nice models but the fake bottom headlight on the santa fe is hillarious
Hi just out of curiosity can an EMD FT A unit work without the B unit alone in real life?
Very nice models.
Nice Locomotive!
Nice engine
Nice.
you are the guy in model trains stuff
Toy trains PULLS freight
I'd like a rerun with New York Central phase 2.
What about the Union Pacific?
UP didn't own any FTs

@pauwanstrainworld6885 Yes, it was! 😁 never too late to learn something new
That’s looks so bad, why do have to paint the headlight? Just don’t even add a 2nd one at all!
Pengen nduweni tapi modalku entek nggo channelku..ra mlaku meneh🥺🥺
As cool as these engines are, no B unit and charging almost 300$ for a single unit??
What a low quality locomotive. I'm glad I chose Lionel over Bachmann.
Wow bachma has better trains in my opinion i don’t won’t to offend you.
@Ferro Equus That's why I heavily modify my models lol.
Just a model train/ toy
For almost $100 less you can get a better detailed model from Athearn, come on Bachmann get realistic with your prices
It’s sad that Bachmann is the only company that’s making the FT. It’s a joke really.
stewart, intermountain, and now rapido make FTs
