You guys should really consider bringing back the old "Great Iron Horse Train Robbery" set, complete with its diorama piece, exploding car, trap door car, figures, and storybook, while updating it with an oval of Nickel Silver E-Z track, newer style transformer, and a Jupiter engine with the more recent tooling and livery...
❤ This helped me with figuring out how easy it really is programming and using the functions . I’ve bought bunch of n scale DCC locomotives. So much fun!!!
Ok Bachman. Ya got me. I’m buying a dcc starter set with this controller and i’m sold on your cross tracks. I can control the track with my controller?!? With stock track without modifying?!?? You got yourself a customer for life there Bachman! 👍🏻
Yes, you can control both power to the track and turnouts with E-Z Command. If your turnouts are not E-Z Command turnouts, you can use our Turnout Control Box to convert standard (electrically operated) turnouts to DCC.
If I set one train to the slowest speed, then set a second train to the fastest speed, then switch back to the slow train and slightly move the speed dial, does the slow train jump to the faster speed or stay at the slowest speed initially set?
It will stay at its original speed and increase appropriately as you turn the control dial. The dial turns continuously. It does not have a start and stop point. Speeds are relative to the number of turns made for each model and are not governed by the position of the dial.
That's a big update to the EZ Command, I have had the original since 2011 for my small layout and it's been fine for that other than not being able to access a couple functions on 1 sound loco I have but it looks like you covered everything for a small or casual layout now! I might have to get one of these and sell the original.
The price for what it offers is unrealistic, it should cost no more than $99. For less money I can get so many other DCC controllers with TONs, and I cant stress this enough, TONSSSS more features. Sorry Bachmann, I love the E-Z Track system but this controller is already 10 years outdated and that an understatement.
so when you are programming the model does this change the address number to the respective push button number? so if you assign an engine to the 9 button does that mean that the chip in the engine has been change to 009 along with the respective cv value? I suspect you cant program engine number from the command station.
You can NOT program CV's using any bachmann ez command controller, for like $180 to $220 you can pick up a "NCE Power Cab" which allows you to do whatever you want with your locomotive, like change CV's, use 4 digit addresses, consist locomotives properly and a whole lot more. Trust me, just get a NCE Power Cab, these things suck.
Programming the locomotive to one of the push button addresses on the controller will change the address the locomotive is assigned to on any controller.
@@IndianaNorthWestern oh trust me i know. this is going for $265 on bachmann main site. digitrax has the DCS 52 that blows this thing out of the water. and the NCE power cab as you noted is great too. there is a reason no club uses this system. and this so called "newer": version is still crap.
@@BachmannTrainsUSAthat is not answering the man's question. If you address a lock a number with this controller, will this number be the same on a NCE power cab
Good video. I have a small layout, Two separate tracks. We used flex track and the drop feeders are connected to separate bus wires. How do I connect to the two red wires from the controller? Where do I solder them? To the end of the bus wire or directly to the track. Which wire is negative, they are both red.
Question is it going to replace all the old ones in the dcc starter sets because it woud be wired to sell a old product and yet have the better one out all ready just curious.
Is this new Bachmann ez command now equipped with fuse to prevent burning when short circuit occur? My friends had to buy twice because their Bachmann ez command burn. 😢
Yep, but just get a NCE Powercab, you can program CV's, use 4 digit addresses, consist properly and a whole lot more. They're like $180 to $220 or something like that, but it's definitely worth it.
@@IndianaNorthWestern thanks but I rather stick with bachmann, their controllers and locomotives are very reliable (yes I do purchase from other companies too, but I've been around bachmann products for a while so I trust them more)
You guys should have abandoned the 3.5mm headphone jack as a connection. That's where all of your shorts occured and destroyed so many units.... Not smart at all.
Yes, as we recieve new stock of our DCC sets, they will be equipped with the new system. Check the product information for each set to see whether it has the new system.
The system allows for one non-DCC locomotive to be operated at a time. While you can do this, it is best practice to only have this locomotive on your railroad while you are using it, as the constant current supplied by the controller could damage the motor if left at idle over time.
I have been using the original EZ Command system since it came out and I have never had any short circuiting issues. If you don't mind me asking, what do you think is causing your issues?

so what if im running my thomas models? can i run a dcc loco and a dc(thomas model) at the same time as if it is two dcc?

Will newer dcc train sets come with this controller
Yes, as we recieve new stock of our DCC sets, they will be equipped with the new system. Check the product information for each set to see whether it has the new system.

does this controller actually work on Thomas and friends engines?
Would I need any boosters to run a 4x8 layout? Or would it work just by plugging it in?

Can this operate DCC Locomotives from other manufactors or can it only run Bachmann?
E-Z Command can operate DCC locomotives from any manufacturer.

This is the standard DCC controller we are including in all of our digital sets moving forward.
But will the older set like the "Digital Commander" and "The Thunder Chief" have this type?
Hey Bachmann so im planning on getting a bachmann switch from amazon i wanna know what are the radius for them?
