    hey good video, i got the zero red as my first IEMs and they are ok but i noticed the depth of field is not very good reverb tails and backing vocals dont shine, do you have a better recommendation same clear vocals but better depth and maybe more harmonic in the high end . are the hexa way better ? what is your best under 100 dollar pick

    7hz Salnotes Zero are great! I use them as monitor when I play guitar. I tried many others and I always return to them.
    I had tried Truthear Zero red, Simgot ea500, Dunu titan S, Moondrop Aria Se, Shure se215, Tin t2, Kz ZS10, Etymotic er2se.
    I kept the Moondrop Aria Se for monitoring vocals. I also Kept the Etymotic but them are a different thing.
    The Simgot ea500 and the Dunu titan S were good for the guitar, but I still rather the Salnotes Zero. I use them with a replacement cable (for comfort).
    Now I ordened the Hexa to hear how they sound! Thanks for your review!

      @@KenCreates The Hexa are really great!
      I really like it! They both have a very close tuning...
      Salnotes Zero brings out the electric guitar frequencies more so it could work better as guitar monitor.
      Both are really great!

    Nice review, especially liked the listening tests but... How would these be for Rossini or Wagner, or purely instrumental like Beethoven, Brahms or Bruckner? I realize classical isn't everyone's cup of tea but it's 95% of my listening so it would be helpful if reviewers gave it a passing glance.

      I don't see why this is a problem can't you just eq more bass?

    • @anecro
      @anecro 5 місяців тому

      @@Valorantplayer2727 It's easier to remove / contain bass from an IEM that does it well and has plenty by default than try to restore bass from an IEM that has a pulled back bass response out the box. If it's not really present in the base tuning, a software side solution isn't going to achieve much in boosting it most of the time and you may end up bringing imperfections and muddiness into the sound. That's the job for a dac amp, which may be able to give the set enough juice to enhance the whole spectrum on a hardware level. You can also, like the guy mentioned in the video, just change your tips to ones that enhance bass.
      As a sidenote though, neutral IEMs like the Hexas (especially on the current 50$+ space with some better materials) are way more flexible and respond much better to EQing than other already more "stretched" from the factory models. There's just more headroom in less extreme tunings, I experimented a lot with my Holas and they could easily adapt to become brighter instead of their default tame dark signature because of this, which is why I picked them to begin with despite not being a bass head.

      Not at all... Just don't play any music too high. Your brain will adapt if you learn to play music at lower volumes and when you need to crank them up you won't raise the volume high because you'll be used to lower volumes hence preserving your ears.

    Hey Ken hello it's been a while, I've missed your reviews on iems specially on Hexa. I was always wanted to buy Hexa but end up buying something else and the last iem I bought is Artti T10 a planar instead of Hexa.

    Quick correction: The faceplate is painted metal
    Also for something more expensive, maybe the LetShuoer S12 Pro's could be something to consider for review, I own both the Hexa's and the S12 Pro's, and the soundstage on the S12's are insane (for an IEM) and a noticeable step up in detail retrieval. The one problem I have is the tuning, it's pretty colored and v-shaped, and while it does sound fun out of the box, I prefer to EQ it to smooth out the mids and treble, while removing some mud from the bass. And with EQ they are absolutely crazy good, I've had them for a while and still love listening whenever I can.

    • @KenCreates
      @KenCreates  7 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the correction! And I’ll have to check out the S12’s. They keep coming up in recommendations. I think they might be a nice addition to the collection, I like having my neutral sets as that’s my listening preference but sometimes having something fun is a nice change. I’ve seen the S12s compared to the Timeless before and it seems like it’s a toss up between them

    • @occasionalart
      @occasionalart 7 місяців тому

      @@KenCreates Thanks for the reply, personally I'd recommend getting the Pro's since they're a bit more balanced in the mids than the originals, and you could absolutely get the Timeless too, I've heard great things about them. (Only reason I got the S12's over them was the price and because I find the Timeless to be very, very ugly lol)

    • @TorradoAngel

      I could be wrong but I believe they are hard anodized aluminum (not painted). Ano is a very hard oxidation layer but considering the soft aluminum underneath, it will scratch easily if you are not careful. The construction is very solid for the price IMO.
