22:28 it's not even a comparison. Hot Toys CRUSHED this. Even the hairline looks real. You can see the glue on the Inart one, the HT looks like real hair growing out of the head.
I don’t understand why they didn’t just make the whole back of the head removable like the sculpted hair version. The wool hair would’ve hidden the seam perfectly. That way we could move the eyes and swap out the teeth and tongue more frequently with the rooted hair version since we wouldn’t be messing up the hair all that much.
Phenomenal figure in almost every regard! Absolutely loved this vid, couldn't have clicked it faster when it popped up on my feed. Genuinely felt uncanny when you were moving the figure around to show the articulation, almost expected him to adjust his jacket or look to his side or smth. Absolute 9.9/10

I personally don’t mind peg holes. Better alternative to sketchy working magnets to achieve the same result. I can see why some might not like them but you shouldn’t see the bottom of the shoes often anyways.
In the walking pose at the end one of the peg holes is pretty visible. They should've added at least a cover like they do for the Spider-man figures with the extra arms.
This figure looks amazing! That said, I still think the Inart version has the better head sculpt. It's just Hot Toys somehow already mastered the wool-rooted hair method and make it more natural especially at the hair roots, they just look like normal hair. And Inart weapons are about 200% better than Hot Toys being more accurate and with so much better details 😁

This figure looks phenomenal! As a fan of Heath Ledger and his portrayal of the Joker, I have to say I cannot wait to add this figure to my collection. They did a great job on the clothing. That's always one thing I find issue with on a lot of various figures from any company....the clothing most of the time just doesn't look to scale. But this looks spot on. Fits him properly.
Lol people saying Hot toys dominated inart . It's crazy to say that any of the two dominate each other there both 🔥. Hot toys still don't have the hair right though , I prefer Inarts sculpt and I don't like the HT version being so tall.

I just got mine today from flagship store in Shanghai. The first annoying thing from my perspective is the out and inner package which seems much more inferior to the previous DX series figures, like DX01. And the accessories are all made of plastics comparing to the Inart version. That said, head sculpt is almost all that we should care about and Hot toys came out on top this time.
Hot toys is great. However i prefer the inart version as i dont like the expression on the hot toys. At the end of the day,both figure inart and hot toys wont go wrong

Yeah, looking at the side by side, the Hot Toys version looks superior to InArts. Thinning out the hair compared to the prototype photos makes a big difference in a good way. But hey, the InArt Joaquin Phoenix Joker looks better than Hot Toys, we’ll see if that holds up at final release.
This is a perfect Joker figure. I still wish we also got a laughing head sculpt as well. I understand why we didn't get one this time but it would have been nice to have that option. Great review!
Here's my opinion about this figure (as a proper product, and by comparison with InArt, which I already have in hand). First, the accessories. While I quite prefer the Hot Toys' paintjob on the machine gun, I think InArt is superior on this side of things. Simply because what comes in both...is better made with InArt, material-y speaking (guns, grenades) or when it comes to the shape of the black handled knife (which is still not accurate with Hot Toys, far too thick), they're just better quality. The other accessories are either useless (the shotgun isn't really an important weapon, same for the shoes blades) or don't even appear in the movie as used weapons (the knives). Very good mention for the pencil, which is a cool thing even without the table. The base. I don't think there's specially a better one, they're both different styles. If you want something a bit more classy, the InArt is better. If you want something more of a diaroma, the Hot Toys is better. I don't have any particular problems with InArt's magnet system for my copy of Joker, so I'm not going to tell about this. It'll be according to personal tastes, even more than the rest. The hands. I don't like them. I think they've done too much on it. The texture and wrinkles are too obvious, same for the black wash and the shine on it is... Distracting. I'm not a fan of most of the poses, which I think don't look really natural. May just be me. The body, I think it's great, but not quite as great as InArt's body. Heath wasn't that boxy, with or without the purple coat and everything. The hunch is good however. The body overall is great, just not great. however, when compared... The Hot Toys, I think is way off. Too lanky, the shape of the coat doesn' help at all. He looks crushed onto his shoulders like he has no neck (even when you "extend it", now the problem comes with the cut of the coat that isn't quite right), and stretched under that. That's weird, it's like there's no harmony in it, or at least not enough. The headsculpt... I'll be honest, I don't quite see Heath Ledger on most of it. It's far better than their previous versions, but still not quite right. I think the jawline isn't quite right (the expression doesn't help, even though I kinda like it), and the hairline is way off, which throws off the likeness when we're nitpicking (as we should be... I mean, considering the price...). The eyes themselves are the only thing that I think are better on the Hot Toys. Not by much, I don't think it's a big of an issue as people say on the Inart (but heck, haters gonna hate), but for a straight look, Hot Toys' better, when posed, they're equal on this point. Other issues on the Hot Toys : he's too old, far too old, plus, the scar on his right... isn't accurate and well made. It's too sharp, too "straight cuts ONTO his skin" instead of really carved in the skinw...and the paintjob doesn't help... The paintjob.... Again, it's better than they're previous versions, but still too toyetic and wrong on some parts. The black and the white are good in themselves, but : - the forehead lines are too straight, thin and deep. Should be larger, like it has really been done by sweat and everything. - the transition between black and white is better than on the Imposter version... But still not right, the black lines directly onto the white isn't logical, it's not accurate and it doesn't make it look like smeared by sweat make-up or anything. It jus looks like paint. I like the smeared effect onto the forehead however, not accurate to a stocker/cleaner make-up, but cool and well done so I'll pass on that. - the red of his mouth... Isn't right. Color's good, his left side is good too, the little red spot above it is good too... But the right side, again, isn't accurate. It's too clean. It's just ON the scar and not around it too...which makes the scar looks even less realistic. The hair, even with the still off hairline, I'll be honest, even though InArt's still wonderful, I prefer Hot Toys'. Just think the color and the texture of it are more accurate and looking good here. I would've like a bit more brown in it however, especially on its roots. People were saying that Hot Toys would be better then InArt at sculpted hair and InArt would be better at rooted, but funnily enough, I think it's actually the other way around for what I've seen. I much prefer InArt's sculpted hair over Hot Toys' (too thick on one side, the backside really look like a chonky blob of hair, with still the hairline problem) The tongue, I wasn't sure at first, but when you put it just a bit outside, it looks really, really great and original. The outfit... Is great, again, better than the Dx11's, but still behind InArt's, especially with some choices that I think could've been exchanged. For example, the dirty buttons...cool, but some things were more important than that and are off : - the purple coat is a bit too thick, not by much, but still a bit (and it's even worse with the grenades, which works on the InArt) - The grey jacket is too thick, too clean, and too bright. - the green vest makes him look too boxy - the shirt isn't blue enough. It's not supposed to be sky blue, of course, but here it's far too grey. InArt's was more accurate on that side of things. - not really a fan of the tie, The knot is too wide in my opinion. - the pants... Too clean, too bright. The lines are too obvious. it should be more subtle, more... Muted, and the purple should be darker, to have an even bigger contrast with the coat, but less bright. - the shoes...I think that, even with the hole under it, Hot Toys is better. The color and look is more accurate, even though it doesn't brother me at all with InArt, and I think the hole underneath is...well, not sure that you're going to see it in most poses, and to chose, I'd take the Hot Toys' shoes over InArt's, even without problem with the latter. Anyway, sorry for the long comment, I just love doing this kind of things to give my opinion. I know I'm nitpicky, but I think it's necessary. I hope I don't seem like a meat-rider, 'cause I'm not, I give my opinion and only it. And even if I was a meat-rider... Each to their own, the only thing I wish, and I know we all agree on that, is that people will be happy. Because this figure is great. I don't think it's the best, but I think it's great enough (it's the second best to me), and whatever you'll think, if you go with it and are happy, then I'm happy for you, that's the best thing that could ever happen in the collection world
Interesting to ponder if this is the next step in the hobby, a brief blip that will come and go, or just a limited niche thing. I've been a small time collector for less than 2 years, and I already feel priced out of the sixth-scale collecting hobby. I cannot imagine how healthy the hobby will remain if prices per figure keep creeping upwards for 'basic' figures, and more and more the 'must have' figures are north of $500.
I like Inart but I always felt their head sculpt was a little off; I think this figure is definitely a net W. I think I prefer inarts base and the fact that you can do his look from the prison, other than that I think hot toys is better.

First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to fully review everything that this figure has to offer. There's a lot going on with this figure and none of it deserves to be rushed in any review. With that being said, I got the sculpted version cause I didn't feel like dealing with the perfection of the hair. Those safety pins are going to be a pain. Im here for it 😅. Can you let me know how wide the base is please? Space is limited and I'm hoping i can fit it in the collection

I have the other very on order, the hair is amazing but i couldnt justify the extra £100+ notes for it. Over all though the figure looks amazing and i cant wait for it, i was always gutted i had missed this figure and now feel i am getting the best version. As always, brilliant video and so helpful.
I have the sculpted InArt with the Hot Toys Artisan Fully paid and on the way from Sideshow. I may need to sell the InArt sculpted for space, but hopefully I can keep both because I like the metal weapon accessories.
Another incredibly thorough review. As for InArt, its not a fair comparison on the accessories really since the cost is nearly a $1000. more. Since the winner was Hot Toys in the end, a great value. Its ashame the saftey pins are not pre-installed like you suggested. In regard to popcollectables, it is Out of Stock there. I'd rather buy from Sideshow, if available, anyway being a USA customer. Oh sorry I don’t have the DX11 anymore. I have 6 jokers as it is so he needed to go. I’ll save you the hassle, the inart sculpt and hot toys artisan ones use completely different neck connectors they are not compatible

22:26 HT came in swinging with this one. They knew the assignment and delivered. I have to give it to HT for the details and skin texture for the hs, but I have to give it to Inart for likeness. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of the HT expression either. I just wish HT gave this much attention to Star Wars clothing. Needs more weathering! 😂

Wow Joker is tall, given he has a bit of a hunch I'd have expected him to be the same height as Batman, maybe they'll slightly upscale the new Armory Batman.

1/6 safety pins!!!!! that would be rage inducing and a recipe for disaster. Interesting height comparison between the Hot Toys and Inart figure. interesting with those peg holes in the feet since they take such care to disguise the ones in the base when you aren't using them.
Really looking forward to seeing this review. I adore my InArt Joker and I don't think this looks as good. But in hand is always a better source for opinion.

Hi Justin. Two things about the man-hole cover. Compared to the figure it looks very small - I doubt a Joker scale figure could climb into it. Also, why is there sculpted road directly under the man-hole cover? There should be a portion of a moulded hole. Even if it was just a drain, there would still be no road underneath it. Very strange. Aside from that it's a lovely figure. Thanks, as always, for a great review.
I like the proportions, the coat colour and the likeness of the this one a lot more than the Inart one but i think Inart does everything else better than this HT one.

I much prefer InArt's sculpted hair over Hot Toys' (too thick on one side, the backside really look like a chonky blob of hair, with still the hairline problem)
The tongue, I wasn't sure at first, but when you put it just a bit outside, it looks really, really great and original.
The outfit... Is great, again, better than the Dx11's, but still behind InArt's, especially with some choices that I think could've been exchanged. For example, the dirty buttons...cool, but some things were more important than that and are off :
- the purple coat is a bit too thick, not by much, but still a bit (and it's even worse with the grenades, which works on the InArt)
- The grey jacket is too thick, too clean, and too bright.
- the green vest makes him look too boxy
- the shirt isn't blue enough. It's not supposed to be sky blue, of course, but here it's far too grey. InArt's was more accurate on that side of things.
- not really a fan of the tie, The knot is too wide in my opinion.
- the pants... Too clean, too bright. The lines are too obvious. it should be more subtle, more... Muted, and the purple should be darker, to have an even bigger contrast with the coat, but less bright.
- the shoes...I think that, even with the hole under it, Hot Toys is better. The color and look is more accurate, even though it doesn't brother me at all with InArt, and I think the hole underneath is...well, not sure that you're going to see it in most poses, and to chose, I'd take the Hot Toys' shoes over InArt's, even without problem with the latter.
Anyway, sorry for the long comment, I just love doing this kind of things to give my opinion. I know I'm nitpicky, but I think it's necessary. I hope I don't seem like a meat-rider, 'cause I'm not, I give my opinion and only it. And even if I was a meat-rider... Each to their own, the only thing I wish, and I know we all agree on that, is that people will be happy. Because this figure is great. I don't think it's the best, but I think it's great enough (it's the second best to me), and whatever you'll think, if you go with it and are happy, then I'm happy for you, that's the best thing that could ever happen in the collection world

Interesting to ponder if this is the next step in the hobby, a brief blip that will come and go, or just a limited niche thing. I've been a small time collector for less than 2 years, and I already feel priced out of the sixth-scale collecting hobby. I cannot imagine how healthy the hobby will remain if prices per figure keep creeping upwards for 'basic' figures, and more and more the 'must have' figures are north of $500.
We will have to wait and see!
Oooh that’s a cool looking figure , the head sculpt does look good to my eyes but still this live action version of Joker is amazing

I like Inart but I always felt their head sculpt was a little off; I think this figure is definitely a net W. I think I prefer inarts base and the fact that you can do his look from the prison, other than that I think hot toys is better.
There are pros to each for sure!

First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to fully review everything that this figure has to offer. There's a lot going on with this figure and none of it deserves to be rushed in any review. With that being said, I got the sculpted version cause I didn't feel like dealing with the perfection of the hair. Those safety pins are going to be a pain. Im here for it 😅. Can you let me know how wide the base is please? Space is limited and I'm hoping i can fit it in the collection

Looks amazing! Couldn't get the artisan edition so I'll stick with my Inart (that I absolutely love) but still.. This is Hot Toys so Can't wait to get the 4.0 in my collection😜🤣

I have the other very on order, the hair is amazing but i couldnt justify the extra £100+ notes for it. Over all though the figure looks amazing and i cant wait for it, i was always gutted i had missed this figure and now feel i am getting the best version. As always, brilliant video and so helpful.

I have the sculpted InArt with the Hot Toys Artisan Fully paid and on the way from Sideshow. I may need to sell the InArt sculpted for space, but hopefully I can keep both because I like the metal weapon accessories.

Another incredibly thorough review. As for InArt, its not a fair comparison on the accessories really since the cost is nearly a $1000. more. Since the winner was Hot Toys in the end, a great value. Its ashame the saftey pins are not pre-installed like you suggested.
In regard to popcollectables, it is Out of Stock there. I'd rather buy from Sideshow, if available, anyway being a USA customer. Thanks!

Oh sorry I don’t have the DX11 anymore. I have 6 jokers as it is so he needed to go. I’ll save you the hassle, the inart sculpt and hot toys artisan ones use completely different neck connectors they are not compatible

From what I’ve seen Justin’s banes are pleather, rubber, spring loaded waist clamps, hoods, and now tiny safety pins.

22:26 HT came in swinging with this one. They knew the assignment and delivered. I have to give it to HT for the details and skin texture for the hs, but I have to give it to Inart for likeness. Personally I’m not the biggest fan of the HT expression either.
I just wish HT gave this much attention to Star Wars clothing. Needs more weathering! 😂

1/6 safety pins!!!!! that would be rage inducing and a recipe for disaster. Interesting height comparison between the Hot Toys and Inart figure. interesting with those peg holes in the feet since they take such care to disguise the ones in the base when you aren't using them.
I know they are so frustrating!

I am glad I have my InArt sculpted hair version. I'm not a fan of rooted hair and there is something about the open mouth, just doesn't quite work for me.
Hi Justin. Two things about the man-hole cover. Compared to the figure it looks very small - I doubt a Joker scale figure could climb into it. Also, why is there sculpted road directly under the man-hole cover? There should be a portion of a moulded hole. Even if it was just a drain, there would still be no road underneath it. Very strange. Aside from that it's a lovely figure. Thanks, as always, for a great review.
