  • Our eighth and final session, “Starting the Conversation - Teaching and Talking About Money,” will explore ways to start conversations related to financial education with students, educators, and school counselors. In this webinar, FEPPP will review how financial trauma can impede conversations about money and share research on trauma-informed approaches. Participants will be provided with tools to examine their own money-related biases, and attitudes. We will also explore the importance of financial education for special populations, with OSPI’s Stacey Klim, Foster Youth Program Supervisor, dispelling common myths about foster youth, trauma, and financial education. Additionally, participants will discover tools for integrating financial wellness into the classroom, including the FEPPP Financial Education Library and curricula designed for at-risk youth. We will also be joined by Maria Muto, Secondary School Counseling Program Supervisor at OSPI, will introduce a new standards crosswalk integrating ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors, Social Emotional Learning, and Financial Education.
