I just love the way you present this with stop motion, it makes it a pleasure to watch. The welding is getting better and better every episode. Thanks for your efforts.
I have repaired old cars for many years... Let me say your jobs are very professional and nicely detailed, congratulations! Regards and keep the good spirit! ...HMunoz.
@@soupclassicmotoring I know very well how much your way of filming and mounting is time consuming : you deserve all the support we are able to give : )
George: I don't know what I'm doing Also George: *perfectly recreates factory panel sections and seamlessly welds them onto his car* PICK. ONE. Seriously though, this video is what everybody with a project car needs. You're a master of your crafts.
You keep saying things like "amateur hour." Your fabrication is not only highly functional but looks correct too. I couldnt get results anywhere near as good as yours starting with flat sheet stock.
I just want to say your taking the time to demonstrate all this as stop motion photography is truly a gift and the most satisfying way to watch this kind of restoration. I hope you get a million subscribers.
SAME. As soon as he mentioned it in his Q&A session, I strolled on over and realized what insanity this is. I HAD to start from the beginning, and I'm so glad I did. Binged watched the entire thing. WORTH IT. Due to Ronnie and George's videos; I got crackin' on my daily and did some general maintenance, and even some upgrades. My MPG levels are back, and the car feels way more peppier than before (got it used when it was around 20k miles on the odo; added about 50k miles to it since).
You are doing just great! Love watching!! A wonderful ting :-) Like a Feng Shui relaxation exercise. Hommm... I can relate all too well, having too many projects. There is one good way forward: focus and discipline yourself to work on one and one only and finish it before you get sidetracked, easier said than done :-) Thanks!!
Came for the restoration videos and stayed for the beautiful style and production quality. Truly the highlight of my morning as I work from home in 'Straya.
WOOHOO I got a mention.. Ahem cough.... Great work as usual George. Good luck with the suspension upgrades. From experience, that's a slippery slope...
You continue to provide superb content, thank you. In these unusual times, your films are soothing and a great distraction, they are really appreciated.
Ronald finger spoke of you in hes last q&a. so now i am here. smashing like buttons like theres no tomorrow and subscribing. the way you film your videos are super cool.
Yep thought I'd check the comments too as I though it was spot on! Next up from George - the entire Range Rover restoration edited to the beat of a live concert...
Definitely the most distinctive, pretty and professional restoration videography I've ever seen. I really appreciate the effort you put in, and how clearly (and artistically) the operations are presented.
Very nice work, don’t sell yourself short I’ve seen “Professional “ repairs that cost a bob or five that are put to shame by what you manage to achieve
Finally a channel that shows things calmly and objectively. And the way the videos are made is a real change from the many channels in which either money is thrown around or people just celebrate themselves. I like it.
Ahhh the poetry of Dylan, the articulacy of Geldoff and the wryness of Clive James not to mention the artistic prowess of Van Gogh. Love classic Mercs and it's a joy to see them repaired using the same engineering ethos that they were originally built with. It's like watching a ballet as the welding torch does its thing. Even though the dreaded rust has eaten its way in, it surely is testament to the original build quality that many of these cars are still around today. Only concern is if the repair pieces are left bare on their inner sides then it won't be long before the old corrosion gets a hold again, ah t'be sure!
Nice words and if I had the second two traits I'd be a made man. You're possibly the first person who's made the point that horrific rust aside, most other cars that were subjected to the life this one has had, wouldn't have stood the test. Cheers
Just a brush on over rust primer from the hardware store, and an oil based metal top coat. Nothing special but I'm using them until I tool up for spraying. hth
Hello. Well done for your videos. I am enthusiastic about your attention to detail, your demand for quality and your comments, full of humility and humor. Thanks to you, I wanted to restore a Range Rover Classic, and learn to weld, now that I am retired ... You are a good person, that goes without saying ... Take care of yourself ..
Well done George! That’s some serious progress with the welding. Thank god you can work during the lockdown. I can’t even get to my garage and after 40+ days enclosed in a small apartment at least watching you work has given even me the greatest sense of achievement!
This is a killer video. Finally a tutorial with some personality! My prayers have been answered! The animation is both entertaining and really helps me understand visually what's going on. I learned alot.
@@soupclassicmotoring I'm intrigued that you taking on these restoration projects and you say you have no experience which restoration I have a 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 that I've had since 1997 that I just can't part with unfortunately I have no equipment and very little space do you have any advice for me?
This is so therapeutic, the stop motion gives such ease of repair, I know it's far from quick and easy. You have definitely upped the level of detailed restoration.
Just finished watching the entire channel over the last week or so (thanks Ron Finger). I have done my share of restorations, like you with a Lotus to come, and this is truely a feat of both skill and commitment! George you are an inspiration to get out and just get to work. I have missed a few episodes, but I’m back and will maybe try to catch up. But first, let me conclude and say that I can see your videos are even better than a couple of months ago. Honestly, amazing!
just come across this resto, takes me back to when i did the same on cars in the 90s ,st/st clips ,brake lines ,welding ,undersealing ,great to see ,loved every minute of doing it ! love watching this .thanks

Awsome, painfully long and detailed work! It requires tons of patience and skills, both mechanical and cinematographical. Congrats for an excellent job! Well, well done!
I just moved across the USA, coast to coast from year round sunshine to four real seasons and I don't have a garage for at least the next year. Seeing you working in the rain makes me want to get my butt in gear and finish my engine swap on the snowy driveway. Keep up the excellent work.
I own a 240d from 1983. Its in pretty good shape, only one rust spot by the drivers foot. But, watching this makes me want to tear it apart piece by piece and completely restore *anything* that needs freshening up. It seems so satisfying to complete work like this on a car, and to develop and learn a new skill. Love it

I disagree. I think you're doing a spot on job! Especially the way you animate these videos. You're giving us a special view into the restoration. These vids must be painstaking to make but they are so enjoyable to watch. Anyone else think so?
So one week ago I discovered (thanks RF) this channel. I went back to Ep.1 and been transfixed all week! The quality of the content and the production value are amazing. This guy is doing BY HIMSELF what usually takes an entire production team! Bravo Geórgios!
There is simply nothing else like this on UA-cam. Well done George again. I wonder how many are like me with a project sitting outside untouched while I find every excuse not to get it done.... its raining, it's cold,no spare cash, I havn't got the mig welder etc. I'm hiding my face in shame.
lol I'm not going to enable you with the excuses Terry... but you knew that. Get a wiggle on, what did the folks used to say... you're only cheating yoursel ;)
Man, this channel is superb. It is a form of art aswel as educational. But it does allways leave me feeling guilty about the lack of time I have been spending working on my old wrecks. Great work, Sir.
The production quality of your videos has always been incredible, as has your ability to just jump into the build to solve problems. In your more recent videos, your level of craftsmanship really shows in how accurately you are reproducing and fitting panels by hand. I'd be happy being able to do just one of those things...
Really enjoying the learning man, if you have something to work on just go to it, it'll pay you back in spades of satisfaction. And the skills grow. Thanks for the kind words :)
It's always amazing to see how far your welding skills have come from the very first episode. Really drives home the point that the only way to get good at it is experience. Well done mate!

You really are an inspiration. I am currently "stuck in" to a 1964 Rambler. Way over my head, but moving forward and improving. I can't thank you enough.
I loved this when it came out, and I love it even more now that I have a W123 and need to repair that interior water drain option... This is one of the only (and certainly the best!) example of that repair I've been able to find. Thank you as always for your stellar content to match your stainless style 😉
I subscribed around when you got the 123 on the channel and had watched a few of the older episodes but spent the last 2 weeks watching them all from the beginning, including rewatching ones I've already seen. This is like a great TV show where you can rewatch many times and still see new things. Also, glad you fixed the blaring intro music versus the rest of the episode in the more recent ones. :) Can't wait to see more and rewatch them all again!
Buddy, yours is by far the best channel of its kind. There's something so relaxing, so entertaining and at the same time so stimulant that it's hard to describe.
