Long ago Mrs and I traveled on our motorcycle. We had the pie irons along. My favorite filling is boysenberry. These days that’s hard to find. During the early 1960’s we lived in southern California. We made several trips to Knott’s Berry Farm. They had a gold panning outfit there. If you knew what you’re doing (I didn’t) you could take a small amount of gold dust home. I still have that tiny jar somewhere. When the Mall of America opened we went there. Knott’s Berry Farm owned the amusement park. So, boysenberry pie and gold panning once again. They used the same style of tiny jar for our gold dust. I had a nice conversation with the gentleman at the gold mine. I related my experiences out in California thirty years earlier. My kids loved the experience. Today, Knott’s is gone. No more boysenberry pie and no gold mine. Life goes on.
"My favorite filling is boysenberry" ... I hear ya'man. My fraternal grandparents had a 20' long 4-wire trellis which grew boysenberries the size of you thumb every summer. Nigh impossible to find boysenberries anymore.
Hannah’s patience on fishing and gold sluicing- winner in both categories- new summer wardrobe- jeans overalls and sandals. Hope somebody brought the truck to the far end of the adventurous creek run. The 360 shots were pretty neat, of the crashes and splashes! Fun
That is a very beautiful campground with the most awesome scenery especially with the waterfalls and I really enjoyed it Thank You and have a beautiful weekend Hannah.🇺🇲💞🇺🇲
Such an incredible location, the more peace and serenity the better. Hope the weather stays comfortable out there, it's starting to get in the upper 80's/lower 90's over here. Enjoy the adventure Dr. Straight.
What a great video to wake up too! These was a lot in this video. I must complement you on your fishing! Awesome Job! Your waterfall videos brought back some memories from my camping days! Thanks! Also great job on prospecting! But the best was the videos of you going down the river! How awesome! I miss doing that from my youth! Have Fun, Doc! 💜💜
Dr. Hannah, so good to see you on a Friday. Aerial yoga, hope you got lots of practice in! Love that you got into fishing, just another activity to add to your toolbox of outdoor adventures. That second fish was a jumper…WOW! So many sounds surrounding you, did you hear the woodpecker when you were cooking your mountain pie? Favorite pie? I’d go with Pepperoni Pizza Pie. Looks like you had a couple roosters along on your gold prospecting adventure. Your river adventure was, well, wet and wild - you said it! Thanks for taking me along on this adventure and for the delicious meal at the close 🤗
Please forgive me for being so bold Dr.Hannah Straight but you are a wonderful, interesting and kind person. Thank you for your tips on being healthy and good food suggestions all the best Joseph.
Another great day Hannah, love how you enjoy every moment girl! Glad to see you not giving up on the fishing too! And of course the pie making was hilarious! 😉😉
Remarkable adventure Hannah. Loved the whole video. Your trip on the rapids was the best. And!!! The bread pie looked so good. Thank you Hannah for taking us along. See you on next adventure. Always your adventure buddy, Gary
Hannah, I totally agree. I hate mosquitos! I spent some time in the rice fields of Willows, Ca. Those suckers don't flutter, they dive bomb. Cutters repellent worked better than any. I could sit in the field and there would be a thousand just buzzing me but not one bite. If you're not into chemicals on you, B complex or B 1 helps but not like cutters. Golf, prospecting, cars and wilderness. You cover it all. Thank you so much!
Living wild in your 4x4 Ford F350 camper van at a campground is like starring in your own off-road sitcom! From navigating puddles to cozying up in your mobile sanctuary, you've turned roughing it into a comedic adventure. Your camper tales are a hilarious mix of muddy mishaps and campground capers. And I'm Floating Village Life, eagerly awaiting the next episode of your wet and wild escapades!
Well this was a fun little video filled with all kinds different activities. It made the video go by fast for me. I may have to rewatch it just to make it seem longer hahaha. Thank you Hannah for sharing this video with us. I hope that you are having a good one. Have fun take care
That was a really fun adventure Doc! Catching fish, panning for gold, and flying down a river on your paddle board, all while looking like a supermodel. I got to admit I was a little worried when you wiped out in the river! 😮 Thanks for taking us along on another amazing Dr. Straight Adventure!
Hey Hannah , Never heard them called mountain pies before . I'm originally from Michigan , grew up mostly in the country before moving to Florida . Back in the '70's up north we called these Hobo Pies . Back then it was mostly bread/ butter / pie filling . Nothing fancy like today. We had the cast iron ones also , they are the best . They do make aluminum ones , but they don't work as well in my opinion . We used a slightly different procedure when making ours . First you closed the iron up , stuck it in the fire to get it hot . Once hot , it was better to work with longer. Once iron is hot , you peeled back the paper on a stick of butter, opened iron , took butter stick and covered all inside surfaces with butter. Add your slice of bread to each half of iron. Add pie filling to one piece of bread. Close iron up , place in fire , turning every so often to toast both sides . Check to make sure, golden brown and not burnt . When done , remove from iron. Start making another pie Letting the one you just made cool.of a bit . Back then there where no caution pie contents hot labels . You usually learned from experience. My grandfather had 40 acres in the middle of a nation forest. There were 3 cabins, ours , uncle, grandparents. We had been out all day doing something, came back , no one wanted to cook. Adults all tired. Us kids suggested hobo pies , my grandmother agreed . Us kids did all the makings. With a little advise from the adults . Most common comment was. That irons hot isn't it !! Yes. We got a few little Burns here and there. We learned . So between 7 adults, and 9 kids , think we went thru like 6 loaves of wonder bread and not sure how many cans of pie fillings . After that night. I swore off hobo pies for awhile. Still eat them . Kinda wished we had those other food ideas back then , like the pizza or ham and cheese and such. We woulda ate the crap out of those to !! BigMike
Been watching your adventure’s for a while Now. I love skiing the Tahoe area every 5 To 10 years. Your new Truck set up looks amazing. Keep on keeping on.
New content from Hannah means a great day for me! 😍 It looks like a beautiful campground wish I knew where it was. Congratulations on catching the fish. You need to keep the tip of the pole up so you don’t lose your catch,The scenery looks beautiful and the cheer in your voice always puts a smile on my face .Looks like a great place to go and camp and enjoy the outdoors. Thank you for sharing with us. Make sure you’re safe out there.😘
What a beautiful spot! We floated down the Truckee river from the lake to just short of the dam in an inflatable boat many, many years ago. Thankfully local friends provided transport on dry land. You have obviously mastered the art of catching fish already! 🤙
I am still checking your back. Glad you have foot protection on. Sugegestion : for washing clothes while traveling = a bucket with a good lid, put it at the back of camper.
Beautiful film. That was a high-energy weekend. I'm exhausted just watching you, might have to get another beer from the fridge. Congratulations on the fishing btw, I watched you catch nothing for years, but your persistence is paying-off.
Hannah , we called them pie irons , when I was a kid . And yes we made many different combinations ! Like ham, salami , cheese . Looks like a beautiful spot ! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and stay safe 😘 sweetie
Hannah I love your videos. You’re a very exciting young woman. You love the adventure nothing seems to scare you and you indulging some lovely meals and I love your videos. Please keep it up.

Hi Hannah here in Australia a great natural bug repelant used in the summer and tropics is a home brew. If you are able to get eucalypt oil in America put about quarter inch into a spray bottle and fill the to the top with water and shake. Just spray on yourself smells great and good for your skin mosquito's hate the smell.
HI HANNAH 👋 THAT LOOKED LIKE A LOT OF FUN ! THE 💧 FALLS WAS GORGEOUS. NICE PLACE TO GET A TAN & BEAUTIFUL SCENERY VIEWS ! NICE CATCHES OF FISH 🐟 THE STREAM / RIVER RIDE LOOKED LIKE A GOOD TIME TOO . GLAD YOU MADE IT SAFELY THROUGH YOUR RIDE 🙏 NEXT TIME I'M AT THE GROCERY STORE I'M TAKING MY GRANDSON SO HE CAN PICK WHICH PIE FILLING HE WANTS TO TRY . BE SAFE ☺️ 🙏HAVE FUN ☺️ 🙏ENJOYED ❤☺️ 🙏GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES ☺️ 🙏 THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME TAG ALONG WITH YOU ☺️ 🙏
I have never made campfire pies that way. That looks easy and delicious. Add some raisins to the apple, Mmmm! Nice trout both of them, Its official. Not just Fishing with Hannah but "Catching with Hannah", Now we add Gold Prospecting to the list, You are the Unicorn! 🦄
I bring Jungle Juice with me to Hawaii and it works great there as well as at my cabin in northern Wisconsin. If you have not tried that yet, I think you will like it. Good luck Doc and stay safe out there!
Those backwoods unpopulated fishing waters are usually some of the best fishing because they don't get fished out or overdone. I knew you were going to catch something as soon as you showed it and where/how it was located. With different lures or live bait you would have caught even more. Who knows when the last person was there and went fishing. The longer it goes the better the fishing usually.
Dr. Hannah is a gift from nature 😍
Keep the bugs off you need “Skin so soft” by Avon. Available in the UK. Don’t know whether available in the states

Knott's Berry Farm is still in CA

Love the video. Suggest not using the leash to the standup paddleboard, white water rafting. Better to lose the board, then pull under a snag it.
A therma cell might help with the bugs . Great video.
