Came here for the gardening content but absolutely fell in love with y’all’s antiquing trips!!! After watching these, I started taking my 15 year old daughter antiquing! ☺️ We had the best time! Thanks for sharing your sweet family with all of us!

It is nice to get away and do something fun with your teen! I miss shopping with my mother, she passed in 2018. We used to go all the time until she became disabled, and she was my enabler too lol. Since she lived with us she got to enjoy seeing what my husband and I would bring home from our once a year "anniversary" antiquing day. It was something we looked forward to every year, it was the day we set aside to celebrate our day and to be off the farm just before Christmas, and for obvious reasons we haven't gone the last 2 years. Before covid we started taking a grandchild with us to have that wonderful experience and to give them each a day with nana & papa alone. Each of them loved the freedom of buying something with their chore money or whatever papa chipped in lol. They all live with us so its hard to have that solo day at home. We are hoping to be able to resume our tradition by next Christmas, I so miss it! By the way, love antiquing with Laura & her mom and loved that lime phone, we have a red one lol.

I love these moments. I lost my mom to cancer just before Christmas, and we used to "go antiquing" together, try on silly hats and giggle, and marvel at all the treasures we found just like y'all do. She had a green thumb too, and your channel helps me carry on that tradition. Mom handed down her dragon wing begonia propagated from the original plant that my great-great-grandmother owned (!) which is still flourishing in my care thanks to one of your videos. And your feature on repotting African violets reminded me of my grandmother's obsession with them. So when you share with us, please know that your videos teach but also conjure cherished memories. Thank you for always bringing us along, Laura.

Oh what I'd do to have a shopping day with my mom. I grew up riding shotgun in her big old station wagon going to tag sales, barns sales and even digging for old bottles behind old houses. Cherish every minute with her! Life is but a blink.
My mom and I used to do that, too! She called them "Junk Walks" and I remember them with pure love. I am so glad someone else had that kind of fun, too! One time, Mom and I were digging around in an old abandoned house and ran into a bear! What a memory!
Me too! I was the youngest child by 10 years so my mom and I spent MUCH time together. She has mild dementia now and I treasure those memories made with her❤️
@@LaurieEggleston37 My mother unearthed a snake and that was the last of the bottle digging for her. I was always amazed she could figure out where the dumps would be because of the placement of the house and the rock walls etc. She once dug up a complete brandy decanter set with all the glasses. Not even a chip out of one.
My mom & I used to go out & shop all the time .. she went to heaven in 2008 & I miss her like crazy . Enjoy your time with your mom every chance you get .. ♥️♥️

I can't be the only barebones minimalist, japandi aesthetic person who absolutely LIVES vicariously through these fun shopping jaunts and Laura's Victorian maximalism. It is my polar opposite in terms of decor, and I am so here for it. The LAMP!!! I also love antique malls but rarely leave with anything. 😂 Laura your home is incredible! Get all the things. 🤩🛍🛍🛍

After asking my 7yr old niece if she wanted to go antiquing with me and walking thru three antique shops.....she ask me to step outside so that she could tell me a secret.
When we sat down on the porch swing she said, "I wanted to go outside & whisper so I don't hurt anyone's feelings.... Aunt Patti, I can tell that these items have been used " lol

My mom passed 4 years ago at 65. 😢 miss her so much. I enjoy these videos a ton. Enjoy all the time you have left love each other and thank God for the 👪. A moms are unreplacable. That's garenteed.

13.45 - Have to share this story. My young childhood was in the 60s when women (my mother) would still dress up fancy to go see the local tourist spots on vacation. My mother always wore gloves when she dressed up, to tourist, to go to church, etc. Decades later in the late 90s I decided to wear my gloves to church as it was Easter Sunday and I was one of the a door greeters. I was so mortified when my gloves truly scared one of the children - to the point of tears. I don't know why they terrified him so, but I have never worn my gloves since. Poor little tyke. Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories of my mom, who passed away in '71 when I was 12, as well as a not so wonderful memory of traumatizing a small child I didn't even know. So sad.

Things like this feed your soul, laughter with your mother, such a good thing, relish it. I have actually been away taking care of my mother who is a nursing home for rehab. I am way behind on my Garden Answer videos due to visiting and helping care for her. Back home now and missing her already.

Well Laura I stumbled upon your channel accidentally. I really really enjoy seeing you and your mother shopping both your laughter are contagious, I’m laughing right alongside, My Mother passed away at the beginning of Covid and we were very fortunate to be with her because a few day after a complete lockdown happened in New Brunswick Canada. When your with your Mom it reminds Me and my Mom We had so much fun together We could laugh at the silliest thing and I miss her so much. Seeing the Love between your whole family melts my heart. I never really had a passion for flowers but know your passion has rubbed off a bit on me I’m already planning to by a hydrangea for this summer , you have given me hope and inspire me to look at gardening in different ways. Do you ever try to bargain with the sellers when you are buying antiques? I saw a video with P. Allen Smith antique shopping, and he would ask in a really casual way, "What is your best price on this?". I started doing that too and most dealers have been willing to do 10%, 20%, or sometimes more off. It adds up to significant savings over time!

Me and my mom used to do this quite often back in the 80’s and early 90’s. Mom is now 86 and can’t get around like she used to. I so enjoy these videos as it reminds me of so many wonderful times with my mom. Cherish them, Laura!
I took my girls to every thrift, flea and antique place in our area at least twice a month. I told them my car brakes for those kind of shops/stores. Now they are grown and life is busy for them we rarely do this together. We miss that. However, my gals are good to call me when they are out on their own at thrifts, fleas and antique places to tell me all of the wonderful stuff they are looking at and wish their old mama was there with them to pay for things for them. They know I will do that!

I love how you both enable each other's spending. I am a month and some change away from being 40 and I lost my mom to stomach cancer the day before mother's day 2007. I miss her every day. I remember shopping with her and looking for "the deals". We use to go "garaging" in the spring and summer. I remember her always being in her garden but I couldn't appreciate it back then..not until it was too late. I love the relationship you two share. Cherish every minute of it.. make memories and laugh..
