    ✨After 3 years of watching this channel and planning, i’m finally going to Disney World. January 22 cannot come soon enough. thank you so much for the knowledge i’ve gained from being loyal to this channel. I’m so excited to have the best vacation ever. My first time at Disney World was when i was 4 in 2002. It’s 2022 and it’s been 20 years in the making. Thank you AJ and crew!!l✨

    AJ can you do a video ranking or reviewing the best good neighbor hotels and their perks? I’ve found that they’re not all created equal. For example, their website might list free transportation to Disney parks, but when you get there you find out the bus only goes once or twice a day, which really limits how much you can plan your park days and even use DFB tips like going back to your hotel in the middle of the day. I’d also love to know which good neighbor hotels have the best food, the best pools, the best free activities for kids, etc.

    Want to save money? Just stay at any hotel or resort in the Kissimmee area (just 10 to 15 minutes away from the parks), just pay from $500 to $1000 a WEEK for 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen and everything. Most of the good resorts also offer free shuttle to Disney and Universal so no need to pay $25 a day in parking. I recommend plsces like Sheraton Vistana, Holiday Inn Club at Orange Lake, Club Wyndham, etc. Buy food, drinks and snacks at a supermarket like Publix or Target. Yes, the Disney bubble is a more magic experience, but not worth for most

    VIDEO IDEA: and a really important one, do a vid on how to make the most in Disney World if you DO miss your reservation window, if you do a spontaneous last minute trip, or even for people who are new to Disney and didn't understand the reservation system, and now it's a week until their trip and almost everything is booked! Talk about lounges, walk ups and whatever tips you know that I don't!

    If you’re going to be staying at the Swan or Dolphin, understand that there’s a $35/night resort fee that you’ll be paying on top of the nightly room rate. If you belong to AAA you will get a discount there on just about everything.

      We are staying at a good neighbor hotel with excellent reviews at a fraction of the Disney value resort price and probably bringing a lot of our own snacks. Doing this is going to leave space in our tight budget for a character meal, which might be too much if we stayed on property.

      Don’t spend thousands on hotels. That’s all I can say. After the parks all you want is a nice bed to sleep in and a shower. All the resorts offer that plus transportation

      Thousands per night*

    • @sophiaetka22
      @sophiaetka22 2 роки тому

      @@christopherbassit2757 Thank you! That one is definitely important. This time we ARE going to a nicer hotel, but it’s not crazy like Grand Floridian. The Wilderness Lodge is something we all agreed on. Since my Grandpa has payed every year, we’re going to treat him this year to a hotel that he’d really like. I know it’s just a place to sleep, but it’s also the general atmosphere to wake up to and to start your day. He loves anything north western style, so we wanted to do that. It’s not TOO expensive, but it’s also not a value resort. One of our favorite restaurants is there too, so that’s another reason.

    I tried to do a bounce back last September. I stayed at AOA for over a week. We were told it has been a long time since they have had bounce back offers and they do not know when it will be offered again. We dialed the number and asked a cast member. It would be wonderful if Disney added this perk back. I have two trips scheduled this year which were booked days after I left in September. 🙃

    I have been going to WDW since 1997 and have been a DVC member since 2001. My wife and I have always put money aside all year long for our annual trip. We know it's expensive to go, but we have always been prepared to spend what was necessary to enjoy ourselves without scrimping too much. There have always been some things that we skipped just because it was outside the budget for the trip. Special BTS tours, for example. Always wanted to. Never did it. Just couldn't swing the cost.
    Well, the most recent changes to the WDW experience forced on guests have finally robbed us of any opportunity to have a really good time. My kids are grown, so it's just my wife and I. As a result, we no longer visit the parks. We stay in relatively luxurious rooms at the DVC resorts, and they are awesome! So from now on, we're just hanging around the pool, swimming and sipping margaritas. Maybe a table service meal once or twice during the visit, otherwise most food is basically just sandwiches and snacks, also consumed in a lounge chair. Or back at the room. But the parks have been devastated by so many poor management decisions that we just can't justify a visit there any more. Disney still offers "value" resorts, but they have made it abundantly clear that they no longer cater to "budget" guests any more. I can hardly imagine how big a hit it would be on the yearly budget for a young family with small children. The parents haven't reached their max earning potential, so they are only a rung or two above entry level at work. Rent and child care take the biggest bite out of the bank account. When I was that age, it was not in the cards to visit WDW. When I first started going, my kids were very young, but I was almost 40 and entering middle management level for earnings. I could afford the parks. I can't any longer.
    I was hoping to spend these years taking my grandchildren, but Disney has priced me right out of that. Sadly, to keep attendance down, especially on peak crowd days, they have priced everything at a level above which I can comfortably afford. I took them in January 2021, and I may again in 2023. But I predict that will be the last time I can afford to do so, and I am cutting into my retirement money to do it. Sad. My kids have such wonderful memories of our Disney trips. But the good times they remember can't be had any more regardless of what you pay. My grandkids deserve better than what Walt Disney World has to offer now. Perhaps we'll start a new tradition of staying in DVC rooms on Disney property but exploring what Orlando has to offer off campus? It is something we are starting to think about.

      Inflation is also to do with this. Yes Disney is raising their prices but they have to keep up with the demand and the intake it cost to run all the restaurants they have, make the merchandise, have gas and water.. etc. No Disney isn’t “cheap” but when has it ever been?

    • @badbiker666
      @badbiker666 2 роки тому +2

      @@kamrynmarshall Disney's price increases are 200% greater than inflation for the same time period. I saw a video about that no too long ago. They were comparing entry fees and records of expenses like room rates and food prices to what they are today. If I can find that video (and there are probably more than one) I will edit this and put in a link.

    I wish I found this channel before I booked my trip lol! I’m at Disney now and have to say this channel is amazing! Also, magic kingdom seemed super busy to me on Tuesday 1/3. I just thought because Disney wants folks to wear masks indoors and they now know what day your visiting which park, they would cap attendance (which I know they do) but lines were long. Aladdin’s magic carpet ride was a 40 min wait around 10:15am, which I have never seen before!

    I don't know if the pandemic has made this perk stop but if you stay at a Disney World Resort you can get a $150 gift card for sitting through a Disney Vacation Club tour, if you have two properties or family/friends who you travel with they two can get their own $150 gift card and be on the tour, that's $300 dollars all of which you can earn on your non-park day. If you smart and one know Disney and two know whether you and your family would purchase, the tour is only 60 minutes and their van can drop you off anywhere after the tour.

    To add to that character dining, some “good neighbor” resorts have/had character dining as well. We stayed at the Hilton by Disney Springs in 2015, and they had a character breakfast at a cheaper price. You did not know who you were going to get however. While we were waiting for a table, I saw Brer Bear and Brer Fox running around. Cool, though I doubt most people there didn’t even know what movie they were from, let alone seen it. When we got our table, it was Pluto and Minnie. We were in line at the buffet when Minnie stepped out of the kitchen doors in front of us. The look on our 2yos face was worth all that wait

      @@DFBGuide I meant to say as an extra ticket for passholders/ ticket holders 🎟 for the night .. that’s so wrong in my opinion.. that’s so upsetting especially for the people are annual pass holders and have been for such a long time ( going on 7 years for us I believe) I pour so much money into their parks and the added cost of the monthly payments .. feels kind of disappointing being left out of the mix . We look forward to those after hours nights .

    If I’m not eligible for extended hours, could regular passholders just shop and dine at places that are open during that time? Or do we need to exit the park?

    Soon Disney will charge you a per person fee to walk in the parks!!!! They have gotten ridiculous. Maybe a fee to throw away the trash from food you just bought from them!!!!

      If you guys are proclaiming to be a legit source of information you should probably try to show the good, bad, AND the ugly. I can't imagine that people who frequent the parks as often as you do would have nothing negative to say. I'm plan on visiting soon and have been searching for UNBIASED opinions from real people (not purchased or sponsored by Disney), but you guys seem to be the one that pops up the most. Any help would be appreciated!

    Possible unpopular opinion warning. Proceed with caution.
    Sit down restaurant meals at Disney (Land or World) are not worth it. They take up big chunks of time and are generally quite expensive. Much rather grab a corn dog and churro and explore the parks than take an hour or more to sit down and eat in a restaurant. All about time management and maximising the excitement.

    Don't talk to me about Landry's! Yak & Yeti has seated Landry members who walk in before those who have been waiting for 30-60 minutes. And Landry closed their only restaurant in my city so I have no reason to join.

      @@elizabethwheelon306 - That's awesome. We do the same thing. However, be careful leaving the points/rewards in those apps. I have had a few close up on me over the years taking my points with them. I urge everyone I talk to to cash out your rewards at lower levels rather than building higher. I do $5, $25, and $50 depending on the app. I think it's better to let them build in YOUR possession that way if the APP goes away, your hard work doesn't go away with it.
