I've never passed out before and almost always manage to build a temp bed if I'm out too late but I always carry enough bone needles just in case
It's kinda bunk as well cause you can rough-sleep on a hanging tree log or whatever and you'll still get worms
This game throws you into the fray, even the tutorial doesn't prepare you for what lies ahead. Hardest game I have ever played.
Once you get used to it it's pretty easy, you just have to learn when to do things like start building a shelter, or hunting for food.

A useful trick I found is part build something but don't actually place anything. Its a good way of leaving markers or signposts around so you can find stuff. Example, next to a plant that keeps producing fruit; start the build for the small stick stand but don't put any sticks into its construction. This leaves an easy to find white marker by the plant. Makes finding it later much easier. The large framework outline on top of a base also works good when trying to find it again.

day 100+ in my first game and still learned a lot.
you should have added the unknown fruit which removes parasites.
also:
-always look for parasite medicine if youre low on water so you can drink dirty water
-position your inventory over a circle symbol when you transfer lots of items (like the charcoal kiln).
-you can burn feathers in camp fires (use tip above)
-you can use turtles to level your archery, spears, blades, fists, etc to 100 VERY quickly

I didn’t know you could just simply walk away from jaguars/pumas to not get chased or attacked, that’s a pretty cool detail and reference to real life.

For #23: Jaguars & Pumas have specific spawn points ingame. It's not even true that they spawn in open or mountainous areas, but at specific locations. So for example the valley after the waterfall oasis has a jaguar spawner north-east of the abandoned village, where a jaguar will spawn every 3 or 4 days.
I wonder about a jaguar's spawn point. I'm playing on the easiest difficulty and a jaguar killed me at night on day 1. Not in the open area. This game is unforgiving 😭

Another very useful tip is to watch your step and use your ears. Especially in caves and around banana trees.

Anyone wondering, the natives absolutely will follow you into caves and kill you. I learned the hard way.
This game feels like the old games from before.. but with all the modern bells and whistles.
Once you've learned the game it's actually not too bad. When i learned i could drink river water and just eat red or blue mushrooms, and that bows easily takes care of most enemies, and that you dont need to fill all 4 stats to stay alive, it became a lot easier. I'm playing the Story right now tough, but i'm excited to try the other modes :)
I've avoided those dead tree mushrooms in a cluster since they are bioluminescent. The little orange ones remove parasites though offer little else.

damn. bought the game yesterday, Im a diehard the long dark and the forest fan and yet im still struggling a lot, its so fun to play a similiar game and be a noob again thx for the guides imma defiently binge them cause god if i die to poison again..

I started the spirits of amazonia ( however its spelt) and immediately set up camp on the ledge in front of the boat. Been there about 10 ingame days and haven't found a single damn coconut.
Also a fast way to full up mudmixer with water is to build it right on the waters edge and stand in the water facing it but just back a little. In the right spot you can fill up bidon and then tip it straight into the mixer without having to keep going in and out of inventory screen.

There’s a question I have but I can’t seem to get the answer to it. Does the Machetes and Axes respawn? Or is it a situation where once you use them all then there’s no more? I also have the same question with obsidian, does obsidian respawn in the caves? I’ve been playing this game for a long time yet somehow still don’t know this

i finished green hell some time ago, i started it again recently and never knew you can harvest coal for ash, now i can make endless clay bricks for crafting, yaay, i was starting random fires in my base, 3-4 , let them burn out and grab the coals/ash from them

1. Sometimes I see a watch icon above my health bar, what is that?
2. What can I do or craft with a stingrays sting?

Yeah, This is the rainy season. After about day 20 there is also a possibility of the dry season!
only 2 days? luckily I had many sources for clean water at the time, I literally didn't get any rain at all for like 10-20 in game days lmao. I like to just go overboard and have like 5 rain catches a bunch of mud filters and multiple mud furnaces I basically never have to worry about supplies ever again. And animals spawn really really close to where I'm at and it's right next to the drug facility, so there's normal trees and bamboo as well as a river right next to my base lol. I live on a little hill on the side of the river at 48'W 26'S there's a decent amount of room there and a water source right next to it as well. jaguars rarely come up there, there is a spawn for tribe camps right there and next to it but tribe people aren't really a problem anymore

Its been like 6 months I cant find grappling hook, I've given up really.

I haven't played the game in a long time, but it used to be like this:
You need to play the Story Mode to get the grappling hook and expand your area. You cannot get it in Survival. In Survival you can only be in one area and cannot expand.
In Story Mode find the jeep that's stuck in the mud, the place where you get the water canteen, you should also find a red fuel can there.
Then go at the elevator and use the fuel can to go down to the new area. Grappling hook should be there, if it's not then it must be bugged or something.
In Survival the red fuel can is not at the jeep and therefore you cannot progress further.

Google says the grappling hook is there in Survival, so maybe i was wrong about not finding anything in survival, i forgot after a long time. But the red fuel can spawns only in Story Mode that's for sure.

how do you turn around with your backpack open
On controller I'm pretty sure if you hold one of the triggers it locks the cursor and lets you turn. Also hold one of the triggers and press Y or Triangle to rotate inventory items (helps to fit more in storage chests or backpack)
Enemies are easy. One shot headshot all day!
Not all of them unfortunately, the white demon takes 5 headshots I believe
@@marshallsiora6417 In Spirit Of Amazon there are Thug tribesmen who wear head armor, you can't even hurt them with headshots.
where can you find them in survival mode though? I'd like to get those sweet two handed axes, even though the obsidian one is clearly better XD

This game gets really boring, survival mechanics are very basic and the map is just empty jungle with a few empty camps 🙁. It's no where near as hard as people try to make out either, once you know your way around a bit it becomes extremely dull.

Are you playing the Story Mode or Survival?
Survival is boring i agree, you only get 1 area and few unique items, it's just survive and build as long as you can and that's it..
But the Story Mode is great, not only the story is interesting but you also get new areas and new unique items, more camps etc.
You can play both modes the same way, it's just that the Story Mode is better because the area expands.
This is why i always suggest people if they start a co-op world, start the Story Mode and don't finish the last mission, just stay in that world with new areas and play as if it's Survival, keep building and so on.. It's literally the same, just better.
I'm really against overhyped money-grabbing games, but Green Hell is nothing like that. It's quite unique and holds a special place in my heart, it's one of the best survival games i played, much better than The Forest, Rust, Stranded Deep or other similar games. The mechanics can be weird, difficult and tedious but once you get used to it, it becomes very simple. The only problem i see that once you explore all the areas, including the new expanded areas from Story Mode, there isn't much else to do later besides keep building and surviving. But then again, all survival games are like that, even iconic games such as Minecraft.
I think Green Hell is on a similar level as Subnautica.
Also, you can customize specific difficulty settings. Personally i play with most of the settings on hard, except hunger and thirst, because i don't like to keep eating like a pig every 2 minutes, but i like some challenge with predators and tribals.
