Thanks for this and many other of the fine videos you've posted on your channel. Typing on a manual typewriter, for me, is like playing the guitar, a skill and pleasure and I can express myself on both. Please keep the videos coming, The next purchase for me is a portable with cursive fonts. I'll keep looking at your listings hoping to find one there. 🤞😎👍
Thanks for the video, really useful (as well as your Top 10 one)! Just discovered your channel as I am about to buy my first typewriter. Your video confirmed my choice to acquire a Super-Silent. Do you know about Silent-Super models made in Belgium? I found one (Desert Sand colour, no lines on top, AZERTY keyboard, says « Made in Belgium » at the back) at a reseller and wondered if the quality was as good as the ones made in the US….
Love the calming way you explain things. I have the series 5. Clipper, Super-Silent & Sterling. All look like new and type great. Thank you for posting. I have a series 4 also. A 1947 Smith Corona Clipper. It has the decal of the Clipper plane in red on the left front side. Works great and still looks great for its age. I don’t have a case. Would you happen to have one that I can purchase from you?
i’m curious to know why the carriage wouldn’t be moving as i type. the carriage itself can freely move. maybe there’s a lock or lever i have that i’m unsure of
This is my go-to daily writing machine. It's flawless EXCEPT the reverse function doesn't work, so I need to manually reverse the spool. Not even sure how to go about figuring out how to fix this. Thoughts?
Thank you so much! I grew up typing as a child , and have 3 manuals plus my mothers large IBM electric. I learned so much about my SC silent super from your video, and plan to look up my other models. One of my first jobs was typing bills for California Legislative Counsel. Laws were typed, and no corrections were accepted!

So helpful. Thank you for this video :)

Your video was very helpful, thanks!
Pleasure
Thank you for making this. I love this little typewriter but mine is missing the manual so I've been learning controls the fun way lol
Pleasure. It’s always a learning curve
Just picked up one of these in sea foam green for $15 at the flea market. Thanks for this helpful video!
Wow. Nice price. Enjoy
It's a nice little machine. It's small enough to be "portable" and big enough to not be uncomfortable when you type.

Pleasure, they are all nearly the same. Won’t point any major differences.

Thanks, unfortunately don’t have an extra case.

Could be many reasons.
Stuck escapement .. return belt issues. Main spring. Lots and many other reasons.
What are your thoughts about elite vs pica typeface ? Thank you
Just a typeface when I personally like pica

Thoughts?
Needs to be clean or adjusted from beneath. Cogs ⚙️ are tricky to make sure they are on right spot .
ribbon advancement can get stuck if you used oil. I just fixed mine. simple fix with grease remover, let me know if you need help.
Can I buy a copy of the manual that comes with it?
Hello.
I believe we uploaded it on the website: if not , contact me on email and will do my best to send a copy .
Thank you so much!
