Thank you for catching up with Brendan. I wonder from time to time how he along with the family members are doing. Keep strong, Brendan, and God bless every one of those fallen heroes.
I have a soft and hard copy of his book. My dad and I lived in Prescott a few months before this tragedy happened.during the Prescott granite creek cleanup,I got to meet Brendan.we became good friends.he let me get a picture of of us together.he is so humble.i got to also meet some of the other family members of the 19 granite mountain hotshots
I’ve never forgotten Brendan or the rest of the hot shots. Glad to see that he’s still here with us and making a good life for himself one day at a time. Godspeed
My son and I were watching that fire from our trailer in Congress Arizona not knowing 19 would give their lives fighting that fire. Watching this made me cry all over again! RIP to those that lost their lives and God bless you Brad for being a victim of the aftermath, God be with you as well!!
What a traumatic thing to go through and it’s understandable that he went off the rails. However, he is giving back hope to others and he’s a survivor. ❤
WE love ya brother....stay strong.... you've been chosen...please represent Your Brothers and Sister's...whom carry Shelters on their hips....THANK YOU. A FELLOW HOTSHOT. AMEN.
One of the sad things is this fire was a perfect storm of circumstances. The heat and humidity of the air, the dryness of the terrain, and the conditions of the fire itself were just right for the fire to actually whip up its own weather system, which drove it far faster than anyone expected. This doesnt happen often, but if the circumstances are just right, its deadly. All we can do is wish it never happened, and remember our fallen Hotshots as they deserve
I saw the last UA-cam video about how they are using fire tents that are of old technology while NASA has fire proof materials that can withstand 5000 degrees temperatures. These Hotshots need far better protections so that no matter what temperature this fire fighters have to face they can survive. Maybe with better satellites they can track the fires and give the firemen better warning, but still there are so many variables when it comes to fires that you can count on all of them.
I’ve watched videos on this tragedy many times over the years and it never ceases to make me cry. With all the advances in science these days, I hope they come up with something better to help protect firefighters like this that’s better than a thin piece of fire proof material. I don’t think it’s catching on fire that’s the worst risk, but more so the intense heat itself. If not something better for protection than at least better communication devices so this doesn’t happen again. Bless this man and the families of those who were lost.
I am watching from a few miles down the hill in Arizona as a wildfire burns not 3 miles from my home in identical rough terrain. Thanks be to God, there's no wind today. But in grateful humility, my heart goes out to the families of these heroes. We think about your firefighter. We pray for you. Thank you. Thank you for your unfathomable sacrifice. Our hearts break for you. The people of Arizona look on that site as sacred ground, and as long as wildfires burn in Arizona, we will never forget you.
I played Violin at an outside wedding on the upper Hasayampa River, Fall of 2015 and stopped at the memorial. I knew one of the older victims from classes we attended at NAU. Man, this was so sudden and awful. Rest In Peace Heroes all.
Keep strong Brendon you were spared cause you have a meaning and have reasons to be here still your new mission is now to keep your co workers And friends memories alive keeping there stories alive your great guy
Human are human Frist time i realised some bounds on land don't dive any human I am here after watching only the brave 😢😢😢😢 the heroes of not just amarica Heros of earth 🌎
What he went through with survivor's guilt, he could have easily went down and out, no matter what people were telling him. It was pure luck he was found while he was trying to evacuate, otherwise he would have died alone in that blaze. That wild wind change was a 1 in a million occurrence. I am so glad he kept fighting and has found a life worth living.
I'm so proud of you don't worry about what the Haters are saying unless they have been a part of a Hot Shot Crrew and risked there lives to protect strangers they have never met they don't have a Leg stand on
Come on now Brendan, you heard everything on your GMHS Crew Net radio. EVERYTHING! You know what really happened and why on June 30, 2013, with the several rogue firing operations and EM threatening Steed to bring the Crew down the hill. How much longer are you going to continue to live the lie to all of us. Give yourself grace and the permission to honor the men that died that day - your Brothers - and tell the truth, to be a man and a Father. And a real Hot Shot Brother.

It's what you leave behind you when you go."
Isn’t that a song ?

Not a day goes by I don’t think about you and your brothers! I miss them, but so glad we don’t have to miss you along with them.

A dry lightning bolt caused the fire. The winds sped up the fire.

You can still see the pain in the man's eyes. I'm truly happy for him to find peace. His mission is now keeping his memories of his brothers alive.
I have watched the movie and what these men went through all heroes. Heartbreaking

Dude seems to respect what happened .. there was a reason why he was looking out and not fighting the fire that day… he knows the truth as to why

Amazing story.
Why was the team not told to move with the lookout wtf it kills me
You are not alone....
🙏🙏🙏
imagine ending it with transitioning to talking about the loss of homes after.
Survivor's guilt is a hell of a thing.
How many helicopters to help there and when war ?!? How much spent in space and on earth ???
