I can't say enough good things about installing drip tape in your garden! It's such a game-changer, especially during dry seasons. Buried drip tape also gives you more control and less problems. It makes your life so much easier once it's installed, and you'll see better results in your garden right away because the water goes right where the plants need it. All those tubes, tapes and parts all sound confusing, but it's really very simple to set up and install. LOL, if I can do it, anyone can! And I've even added a fertilizer injector to my system! I've gone from a 1000 sq ft garden to a 3500 sq ft garden, and at my age and physical shape, I'd never be able to maintain my garden without it.
Thank you Carol - I also doubled my Garden & trying to keep all my different plots - raised beds- Grow bags on big pallets is getting hard - I order from hoss tools all the time and told my Husband i want this drip system as its hard on my body at age 56 - plus several ( many back surgeries ) Im getting it for this coming fall - especially here in Montgomery County , Texas . God bless you Mrs Josette Tharp 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Love y’all’s drip tape system. I use it in the garden and two raised beds. Since I now know y’all have a fruit tree system I’ll begetting one. We have less weeds with less watering.
Thank you Greg & Sheila for going over this whole system - Im 56 and i grew over 300 sweet onions from yall and 75 from Dixondale farms - I also doubled my garden this year between plots- Raised beds and pallets full of planters - grow bags - Its taking a toll on my already bad body - I told my Husband we are getting this - I wanted it b4 planting season - but im 56 an my husband is 58 . But NOW WE WILL BE ORDERING FROM YALL . GOD BLESS YOU BOTH . Mrs Josette Tharp Montgomery County , Texas 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
Really enjoy your content and how much your tools have helped me put in a big plot of corn this year. Getting ready to till up a 30 x 70 plot for dent corn and I'm really "diggin" the double wheel hoe and burred drip tape set up. My Yellowstone sweet corn came up in four days with about 98 percent germination. Good stuff.
My Hoss drip irrigation kit shipped out yesterday. Funny, it's the same day this video was released! Thanks for the info, it will surely help me put my first drip irrigation down.
Hey guys! Old goat is in the farm fresh bin on the shelf behind mama Hoss. Sent an email to your awesome customer service and found out my Cowhorn Okree and Thom Onions was going to show up this afternoon. Planted the Thom onions in my raised bed with the pepper plants. Mama Hoss gave me the idea last week to plant okree in my flower bed. Thank you for coming on and being reliable and faithful to your customers.
Maybe it's just me but I just loved the sound of frying homegrown potatoes in the background. I could just relax and fall asleep with that wonderful sound in the background.... Great video guys!
It you had a raised bed drip kit, I would have ordered one when I bought my seeds from Hoss. I ended up buying a drip irrigation kit for a raised bed, but I liked the fact drip tape can be buried. This was a well explained video. Thanks!
Great show about a timely subject! If any of you are worried about all of that "complicated plumbing" and it's making you hesitant, don't worry! It's very simple stuff! I see that Old Goat, but I won't play and give those that are playing better odds. I find myself looking for that sucker as soon as the video begins every week! I received my t shirt for the Old Goat drawing last week and thank y'all so much! It's the "Alright, Alright, Alright" t shirt, and folks, I'll tell you, it's the softest, most comfortable t I own!! Get you one of these! Mighty nice to draw 3 lucky folks this week!
FOUND the old goat - hiding up in the Farm Fresh metal bin up behind Mama Hoss. What seasonings did you put on your taters, that you need to take a drink of water after eating just one? LOOKS DELICIOUS!!! Love you both, YOUR channel is the BEST GARDENING CHANNEL ON THE INTERNET!!! Thank you, I've learned so much from Y'all.
Old goat is peeking over the farm fresh galvanized tub. Because of physical limitations we had quit gardening in the ground and switched to the metal raised beds. But this year we planted corn, peas, egg plant, and tomatoes in ground. We are trying drip tape for the first time and it is saving us so much time. We didn't bury the tape but did put it under our landscape fabric cover. Now that raised bed kit is desperately needed. We sure could use it.
I'm way south of you guys and just got my okra in. I'm so looking forward to some grilled okra. I was raised on fried okra and stewed tomatoes and okra and grilled is hands down the best
Decided to use drip tape this year and being on a fixed income, I looked & looked for the lest expensive way. Bought mine from a very well known dealer of drip irrigation and then found out it only covers 1/2 the area yours does and was only $30 less. Then I wound up ordering a couple of pieces they don't have. wound up costing more and have only enough for 3/4 of my garden. Love your show and all the products I've gotten from Hoss Tools. Oh, the Old Goat is in the metal Farm Fresh container on 3rd shelf.
I need drip irrigation so bad all this watering with a water hose is getting a bit much, husband said we will definitely be getting a set up from you guys just getting a few things paid off. Hoping to get it for fall planting 😁
Greg, I couldn’t have much of garden this year had surgery on hand. Had to cancel my order as you well know. Then last week I had another surgery knee replacement. Well that’s going to set me bad for several months. But I do miss those tatters. Maybe next year.
The Goat is peaking out of the Farm Fresh tub. I wish I could use drip irrigation but I run off of gravity rain catchment and I'm on SS with a tight budget.
Are the emitters for the fruit tree drip Irrigation kit a different size than the connectors for the drip tape kit? I bought drip tape mistakenly thinking I could circle it around trees and now I want to replace it with the fruit tree spaghetti tubing set up. Wondering if I’m going to have to use the goof plugs on the mainline tube where I put the drip tape connector plugs or if the fruit tree emitters will fit right into the hole.
I'm laying my drip tape . Can I hook it to the water up at one end or does it have to be connected to the middle of the garden for pressure reasons? Well, after finishing this video, my question is answered. I'll have tops 20 rows 65 foot long when all said and done. Sure like to put it on the end, out of the way, esp. when the fertilize is hooked up.
I put drip tApe down on all the close spaced stuff. I use drip emitters on mainline on all the 2ft spacing stuff. Tape is tender one hit with the push pull and you hunting a splice.
Here in the foothills of NC I ordered my drip tape and I installed it after I have my transplants planted. I installed it about 6-8 inches to one side of each row , 3 -5 inches underground. Will it still work sufficiently even though I had to space it a little bit to the side of the rows in order to get it underground without damaging any roots while digging the furrow? Or will I have to pull it up and move it closer ? Thanks for all the good products and good videos.
Good evening!!! Thank you for the video! I use your drip tape-works great but I occasionally will poke a hole in it (my middle name is not Grace…lol). The goat is behind Mrs Hoss in the Farm Fresh metal container (top bookshelf next to the small pumpkin).
The walkers family of the UA-cam channel (catching up with the Walkers) the have adopted two orphan children from the Cherokee nation! That’s a lot of children I’m sure they’d like some words of encouragement 😁
I use and like drip tape, but it is too easy to cut it with a hoe while weeding. I burry it using the plow setup with a two wheel wheel hoe, but it stills get nicked by the hoe no matter how careful I am while weeding. I can patch it with a drip tape connector, but these always seem to leak a little. Not so much that I can't water the row, but one area gets a little more water. I have thought about going to 15 mil tape. Do you have any ideas on how to help with this issue.
he is in the bucket... question, if the water only spread out 6 inches does the rest of the soil become like concrete and kill all the micro-organisms?
If you put some smoked Spanish paprika on those potato chips you won't know the difference between them and barbeque flavor potato chips from a bag (except the homemade ones are so much better!)
I used drip tape in my small raised bed garden for the first time last year and had the healthiest vegetable plants I've ever grown. I don't believe hand watering waters deep enough, nor does it last as long. Drip irrigation is worth it.
Ok, we are supposed to look for the old goat on the set? What do you mean? I don’t understand what I’m supposed to be looking for! Occasionally, could you show us what we are supposed to look for or is this just an insiders joke?
I can’t figure out if you are trying to be funny or you really talk like that? I didn’t think real people with a hint of education actually said “taters”. The southern accent makes people sound stupid (no offense, I loved the video) but it sounds like you are purposely overdoing it, no?

Just so long as you don't actually fall asleep while frying. You wouldn't want to sleep through a grease fire!
It you had a raised bed drip kit, I would have ordered one when I bought my seeds from Hoss. I ended up buying a drip irrigation kit for a raised bed, but I liked the fact drip tape can be buried. This was a well explained video. Thanks!

Do you prune the top of the climbing lima bean vine after it reaches the height you can reach? I didn't prune and the vines became a tangled mess.
no and ours are a tangled mess. Have to lift the top up to pick.
Wat for kettle are u using for your potatoes chips????
Just an electric "fry daddy"

Ok, we are supposed to look for the old goat on the set? What do you mean? I don’t understand what I’m supposed to be looking for! Occasionally, could you show us what we are supposed to look for or is this just an insiders joke?
It is a goat figurine some one gave Greg a few years ago when we had goats.
Are you sure you people been putting that goat up there?
I can’t figure out if you are trying to be funny or you really talk like that? I didn’t think real people with a hint of education actually said “taters”. The southern accent makes people sound stupid (no offense, I loved the video) but it sounds like you are purposely overdoing it, no?
That's because Hollywood has conditioned people to think this way. And, that's not very nice. People speak in different ways everywhere.
