Finally, I have waited for you to touch on the subsurface drip irrigation topic, and now you have. Alternative to using non draining drip type, one can also use drip embedded with Treflan herbicide to prevent root intrusion. It can be embedded on the emitters or on the filters. It is slowly released into the root zone but wears of after sometime.
    As always good job sir.

Heya Paul, glad this one was a topic you were looking for!
Good info on the Treflan embedded lines! And very good call on the root intrusion, it can turn into a nightmare for sub-surface lines. I don't have any experience with it yet, but there's also emitter lines out there lined with copper that is also supposed to prevent root intrusion (I suspect Treflan would be more effective, however).

    Hello
very nice easy to understand video, thank you
I have a question: how deep should I bury my drip tape? What would be some golden rule to follow ?

If this is for a home or residential system, I'd likely just place it under a layer of mulch or use it on the surface. This will allow easy access for repairs and make it much easier to identify when a repair is needed. Drip tape has incredibly thin walls (which is great for material costs and transport) so it will need repaired at some point. Repairing it is easy, particularly if there's not a lot of digging :)
Just under the mulch works well, as you get the benefit of increased efficiency and easy access to it throughout the season. With that said, if it needs to be buried for specific reasons, the general rule of thumb is 6" to 10" depending on the root depth of the plants -- if possible, I'd try to stay on the shallower side of that window for the same reasons above, particularly easy access to it.

I see mention of drip tape, can drip line also be burried the same?

You sure can! I'd say it's a bit more common with tape because, on the agricultural scale of things, drip tape is often used for one season and then disposed of, so they won't worry about clogged emitters as much.
Drip line is more of a long-term solution, so the concern about clogged emitters is a little more present since you want to leave it in the ground for years. It's still fairly common for it to be buried, just be aware that it does slightly increase the risk of an emitter getting clogged from entering the emitter hole :)
