    Totally agree Ito is phenomenal - plus you can make your own categories too. Our group ended up with creative roleplaying (I highly encourage that where possible) for example: 'worst reasons to be late to best' you could start with 'I'm sorry I'm late....'. We also had serious meta-gaming between rounds. I have not laughed so much in a long time 10/10.

    This game seem like party version of The Mind. I just got my copy yesterday. And I just realized that I should pick the rainbow one. The illustrated artwork on 1-100 is really nice compared to others 1-100 cards game

    I am SO bad at this type of game, Kermit the Frog would be better at it.
    It looks like a fun game, but when you're as poor at these games as I am, it's best to just give it a pass.
    Great video as always there mate, keep 'em coming.

    I'm confused about how the clue giving and playing cards work. So, is it just one person that gives clues? all of them? Then is it like the mind where anyone can place one of their cards and you're trying not to go above anyone else's numbers?

    • @TheBoardGameDojo
      @TheBoardGameDojo  Рік тому

      Hello! Good question. It goes like this (in a nutshell)
      1. Hand out the number cards to everyone.
      2. Draw a category card. Each category card has multiple category choices. As a group, pick one of them on the card.
      3. Each person will then give a clue as to where their number is based on the category you've chosen as a group. For example, if the category is "most popular toy" then the person with a 1 might say "the french guillotine" and the person with a 99 might say "Barbie"
      4. As a group, you discuss where you think each person's card is.Ito is played by everyone agreeing who should play their card next and going from lowest-to-highest. Ito Rainbow (the sequel) has color crystals so you can put all the cards down upside-down on the table and rearrange them on the table.
      5. If you put them in the right order --> WIN
      If you put them in the wrong order --> LOSE

      it sounds like in the base game, "playing cards" is equivalent to revealing them. I assume if one is revealed that is higher than another still hidden card, that player reveals their card and the group loses a life or ends the round?@@TheBoardGameDojo

    • @TheBoardGameDojo
      @TheBoardGameDojo  Рік тому

      @@CANAS1AN You are correct! That is actually one of the reasons why that specific rule was changed in the future editions (Ito Rainbow and Corocoro Ito).
      The rule changed to putting your cards in a line and then when you think everything is perfect, you reveal. You play with "mistakes" instead of lives in the newer editions. You can play those rules with the original Ito, but the later editions give you crystals to keep track, so you'll need to use something around your house for that.
      Thanks for the question!

    So, if you have a low number you want to hint at something good or not so good?

    • @TheBoardGameDojo
      @TheBoardGameDojo  Рік тому +1

      You want to hint at something not good. So for example if the category is “popular toys” maybe I would say “toilet plunger” because at least for me that doesn’t sound like a great toy

      @@TheBoardGameDojo I just went and got the Japanese version off eBay for $40. Seemed a bit high, but oh well. Apparently there was a booth with Arclight Games at Essen this year where they were selling an English version. I hope they have plans to manufacture more and create a broader release.
