Jacqueline was known to be very money hungry. That is why she married Ari Onassis in 1968! She never dated middle class men! She wanted the wealthy men with big assets!
She was a high class hooker! She even married Onassis for money and protection and had the nerve to battle his daughter for even more money! After a legal settlement, Jacqueline Onassis received $26 million from the estate. Christina was the focus of her father's attention until his death; he considered her his successor and trained her in the business operations of the Onassis business empire. She carried the mantle of the Onassis shipping empire, successfully running the business after her father's death.[7]
My heart is always warm to these memories of the Kennedy clan. JFK family in particular I’ve always ached for Caroline, being the only survivor for all these years. 1963, 1994, 1999. Just unreal how all these years have passed, yet it warms the heart thinking of each milestone in this regal, beloved family. Any of the four JFK family being unique and individuality in each of them ,always intriguing.
I never forget the image of Caroline and that of Anthony Radziwill, John's beloved cousin at John's burial at sea (or rather spreading of his ashes). Anthony died only a few months later of cancer. I thought that it was a good thing Jackie died earlier and was spared the knowledge of her son's demise. 😢
JFK was hooked to the gills on drugs since his WW ll injuries. Stop romanticizing that bastard! Jackie was a 3 pack a day chain smoker but worked tirelessly to hide it from the public. These two were not what you fantasize they were. We had a major drug addict as a president and a phony as a first lady. I don't hate who they were but this Kennedy myth is nauseating!!!
Thank you for this The Kennedy era was an incredibly interesting time with smart, talented, diverse personalities. But in the end, it was all about family, big, sprawling, but incredibly close, who together weathered all the tragedy, the loss, and heartache, that their vast wealth could not protect them from 💔
Yes 64 is a short life. My parents are 84 and 87. Jackie could have enjoyed another 20-25 years if it wasn’t for cancer. Look how long her sister Lee lived.
😂Golden for who???? These Kennedy men were nothing but cheating pigs. I will never understand why these women stayed with them. How sad and heartbreaking 💔
My mother and dad voted for JFK. I was 13, but i remember so much of that time. I saw the live tv of jack ruby ect.... In 2018, i visited Cape Cod and saw the kennedy compound from a distance and visited the Kennedy Museum. It was a dream come true. I wish my mother were alive to see it as well as my dad. I still buy books on the family since Jackie's death. Caroline has had a strong mother model for life and perseverance. Thank you for this video.
With all his popularity and privilege, by all accounts JFK Jr was a humble person just living his life. Just as people remembered exactly where they were when his father was assassinated, I was working the day JFK Jr went missing. If he had taken a flight instructor that night, he would be alive today. What a sad and tragic ending for the man called America's Prince.
Haha, this comment made me laugh. I went back in the video, to look. I don't play video games myself, but I see what you mean, he has the thing in his hand, and the look of intense concentration on his face! I think what he has in his hand is a camera.
We just came home from Boston, the cape & the vineyard, so we made sure we checked out the 'Kennedy stuff', including doing a 'drive-by' to see at least a little bit of the Kennedy Compound & JFK's & Jackie's house on Irving Avenue. I didn't stop & take any pictures but I was fine with that, just 'being in & enjoying the moment' was A BIG bucket list item for me!

I still can't get over John Jr's passing 😢. He was the prince charming of my generation. Not only handsome byt a genuinely nice, down to earth guy. I worked with Ted Kennedy Jr. in a law firm in CT when John's plane disappeared. Ted took the next week off for his cousin's wedding when the tragedy struck. Next thing he was on a photo in NY Times, carrying his cousin's metal coffin 😢. Nice guy, very polite and modest.

One thing, when you mentioned Jackie working as an editor for Viking - she had to quit Viking after a couple of years, over a controversy: the company published a novel about Ted Kennedy being president and a plot to assassinate him. Jackie went to Doubleday and continued her work in publishing for 16 more years, right up until her passing.

I don’t know why so many celebrities want to fly their own planes, it seems to be especially fatal to them. My aunt and uncle, with their friends, another couple, died when their small plane crashed over the Snake River Canyon in Idaho. I hope they didn’t suffer, but died instantaneously, their plane completely burned up. The four daughters they left behind, including teenage twins, certainly did suffer. My last aunt died yesterday, but she was old and died in her own bed with her family around her.
It does matter, the manner of death. Each one is a loss; but unexpected, traumatic death, is accompanied by compounded, haunting grief. Of the many deaths that have occurred in my extremely large family, each one difficult, the one being particularly difficult, was a 1st cousin, some 15 years younger than myself, that was tragically killed when he ran in front of a car to retrieve a ball, at the age of 8. I remember thinking it could not get much worse than that until some 30 years later, my uncle was killed in a coal mining explosion. What made it so torturous was that he survived the blast, only to slowly suffocate for some 10-12 hours being trapped underground by the explosion debris; well enough time to leave us a note with the intended purpose of comforting us; a note for which we would take no amount of money, is, nevertheless, a bitter-sweet note. We have had to learn to block the manner of death from our minds, else lose our sanity, and this is by no means, hyperbolic. I pray for your comfort for the loss of your uncle & aunt, for while it may have been many years since, one never fully stops the grief, as you doubtlessly know.
I noticed that too, with rich, famous people, seems like they have nothing left to accomplish, so they want to fly their own plane. (Although really, I think a person can always find new things to do other than flying. ) Maybe it's imitation, "keeping up with the Joneses" - people they know, in their social and work circles, and income bracket, are flying their own plane, so they feel "less than" if they don't do it too.
@alexg1668 I imagine Carolyn's sleek, minimal, pale blonde image suited her city jobs. I think, au naturel, that she was a curly-haired brunette - like her sister. Yes, I agree, nice to see the 'kick back on the weekend' side of her too.
Very much enjoying these wonderful videos! Could you do other presidential families, like Washington or Madison? Dolly Madison was quite the style icon. I'd love to learn more about her era's fashions
Well growing up here in & around the tough streets of inner city Sydney if we were lucky my father (a bus driver) would take us into China Town in the city for Thursday night Chinese. Sydney was no Cape Cod but it was a big night for an 8 year old.
So charming & loving. Yes, President Kennedy wanted to transform America; so unfortunately, he was murdered for it by rogue agents of the CIA. But he will always be remembered for his intelligence & quick wit. RIP JFK, JBK, John & Carolyn. 🙏🏽
Thanks for the great photos, always fun and interesting to see the interiors as well. I spent my childhood/teen summers on the Cape and lived there year round for 36 years so I always felt close to the Kennedy family. Sad and hard to look at those photos and to realize they're gone back to their spiritual home. Some of my favorite photos include the one of Jackie in her 20s lighting the candles on her dining room table in Georgetown in the 1950s. And the one where she's wearing a strapless pink gown that looks somewhat like an Indian sari when the Mona Lisa was brought to the states. She was so elegant no matter what she wore! Hard to believe that JFK Jr. would be in his early 60s now and Carolyn in her late 50s. BTW, they died July 16, not the 15th 1997 May they rest in peace~♥♥
😂 In terms of home decor, this proves that rich, influential, cultured folks had no taste back then because their expensive furnishings and overuse of florals looked busy and HIDEOUS!
It only looks hideous NOW, in retrospect. It was in style then. It was similar to what most people had at the time, and certainly not in poor taste. Also, remember these were summer homes. Don’t worry; one day your grandkids will be talking about how drab and boring everyone's home looked here in the early 21st century -- everything so plain and all in gray and beige. Because that won't be in style forever, either.
Love seeing Jack, Jackie, Caroline and John all sunkissed in those family photos at Cape Cod.
