Thanks man! It was such a fun truck. I think it'll end up in someone else's hands soon most likely. Just need my engine out of it for the Frontier and we're good. I'm excited about that build too though! Nissan for life, :D.
Just the channel I need!! I started listening to your podcast in my semi last week not knowing anything about you and have listened to 12 shows back to back. I wanted to come on UA-cam to put the face with the voice. I recently bought a 2021 Tundra with no intentions of overlanding nor knew what it was. In the last 3 months i have purchased a lot to get me started. I am sick of paying for overpriced VRBO's and Air BnB's when we do our Mountain Bike Enduros. A friend said to me causally, "Maybe you should be an overlander". I was like, "What the hell is that"? 4 months later and and I am ready for my first trip to Eureka Springs, Nov 18-22 to ride Mountain Bike and be fully self supported with 4 other buddies! Keep up the good info and how to's!!!
Hey Jonas! That's awesome and glad the info's been helpful! I'm happy to have you as a subscriber and appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment! If it's helpful (and if you're on Facebook) check out the Newbie Overlanders group as there's going to be lots of good info in there I'm sure. Here's a link: bit.ly/3b7RNos Have a good week buddy!
Appreciate it! I'm sad too, but excited about the Frontier. After seeing how capable the Xterra was, the truck with titan swapped components and 35's should be a beast!
Love the video! Very informative. Question for you, I’m looking to take my family to a road trip and am looking to get a 4 people tent for 2 adults and 2 kids. Would the xterra stock rack be enough ? I’m thinking of doing unistrut crossbars. I would really appreciate your advice on this. All that I’m planning on putting on the roof would be a roof tent and a 270 awning. Thanks in advance!!
Hmm, that's a good question. So, I'm of the opinion that the stock rack is pretty strong and more so even than what they say from the factory, but I've never slept more than 2 adults in my RTT up there. I think you'd probably be ok, but you might be pushing it. Hopefully that helps though!
Awesome.. I've heard folks go back and forth over 285 or 265? I didn't want to invest in the wrong size and than have to purchase the other later on. Thanks for ur quick response
The Xterra rails are weird and difficult to mount stuff to, so I actually built my own pretty cheap unistrut roof rack. I made a full video of it with all the dimensions and exactly how I made it if it helps! Here's a link: ua-cam.com/video/HmoGAGgyh0o/v-deo.html
Thanks for the video! My main concern was about the integrity of the factory rails. Can they withstand the static weight of 2 people in the tent? Let’s say about 500 lbs including the tent
@@martinpomerleau9148 I "think" that they are rated at 500 static and like 150 dynamic (google it to verify for yourself) but I can tell you for a fact that they are super strong and I ran this DIY roof rack on my stock Xterra rack with a heavy tent, awning, and all my antennas and roof boxes for about a year and a half with no problems. Slept 2 people in it multiple times with no issues.
I actually kept my eye on thenewx.org and Facebook marketplace and was able to find a new, never installed set of General Spring HD springs for the rear. Then I found my Nisstec MK86 coilovers up front from a guy locally that had gotten a different truck and was parting out his old Xterra.
Man, this was on of my favorite Xterra builds 👍

@@AllThingsOverlanding Thanks Fletch! Will do!!👍🏿
Really nice build! Beautiful Xterra!
Thanks a lot! Appreciate it!
Def sad to see it go but looking forward to seeing the frontier build.

Good job! I like it!
Thanks Patrick!

Love the stance. What is the wheel offset and size? Tire size?
Thanks! They're 33x12.5" Kenda Klever RT's for the tires and these Level 8 MK6's for the wheels: amzn.to/3MPHY0S
I know it's 2yrs old.. but what size tires do u have on this rig in the video and what size would u recommend for stock pro4x
Hey there, no problem. They're Kenda Klever RT's in 285/70R17's.

Hey I have a question for you. Did you use the factory roof rack or did you had to put a aftermarket one on?

Whats up with the split screen on the video? Was that intentional?
I don't see any split screen?
Where did you get your lift

Do you ever come across any extra parts
I haven’t had an Xterra for a few years so I haven’t really been looking for them, but they are definitely out there if you keep your eyes open.
