I would love to see Rhiannon Lambert have a discussion with Dr. Ken Berry over nutrition and health as I'm more on the meat based side while my girlfriend is more of the plant based side. I would like to have experts on both side have a real honest discussion for the benefit of human health.

I am 72 years old. My childhood was the same as most children and famlies in the 50's. It was basic, meat and 3 veg. A little fruit and either porrage or cornflakes or eggs and toast fir breakfast. So far everyone I grew up with, is still going strong. I have been mainly plant based since the 1980's . No meds, no health issues as yet. Always cook everything from scratch.

I grew up on a lot of whole foods because that was cheap, and I am 60 now and all of my anxiety, foggy brain, and cravings that I experienced eating processed food has gone away when I eat and cook whole foods. I feel better and I have gotten off all the medicines doctors put me on and now I know whole food can replace most medicines. As an environmental professional, I tell people almost all chemicals and medicines come with a warning label for a reason. If you can, avoid medicines. Real food taste better and is information that the body knows what to do with it....process foods often spike your blood insulin and affects your mood/behavior and ages you quicker. Real food is just satisfying.

This lady is so spot on. I grew up in a quite poor country and people were having barely basic, but it was healthy food.
Coming to the UK, I was so disappointed to learn and experience such an unhealthy way of eating.
I say disappointed because, in my mind, I thought that a rich, advance country such as this, would have known/done better.
I'm trying to stick to the way I grew up, although I have put on 10kg; it's true that there few factors contributing to: age, quality of food, price , but the unescapping force of the way the food corporations are hunting us.

@@Morese56 Rhiannon Lambert is exactly the type of 'nutrition guru' that she warns about. Having been through countless video interviews of Drs. Baker, Berry, Chaffee, and Kiltz, at least look to anthropology and learn that prior to modern agricultural development the human diet predominantly consisted of mostly animal meat and fat and very little plant material. Not to mention biologically, the human digestive system is not developed to ferment plant material, where as animals (bovine and primates specifically) that consume mostly plant material have a digestive system developed to ferment it, extracting fatty acids and proteins. Primates have the digestive ability to ferment plant matter, humans do not. Humans have a stomach pH of 1-2 which allows for complete digestion of animal based foods.

I don't see anything wrong with labelling food good or bad. It is what it is. "A rose by any other name, would smell as sweet." Just because you say "soul food" instead of "bad" doesn't change what it does to our body. I have no problem eating bad food, and good food...you have to know it's bad to eat less of it and you have to know it's good to eat more of it.

Some good info in here but I found it biased towards non meat food. Environmentally some plant based is worse than eg grass fed beef. And protein is higher quality from meat or fish due to complete amino acids. Also high sugar diets are now proven to be higher risk for heart disease than diets high in healthy fat. These points were missed. But lots of good points in here too!

I buy organic veg only as and when I can afford to considering I am aiming for the 30 per week. My concern is, am I TRUELY getting the nutritional benefits that the plants SHOULD contain, which are the numbers that all nutritional studies are based on - bearing in mind, the pesticides our food is sprayed with have eliminated the nutrition in the soil therefore reducing/eliminating any nutritional benefit I hope to gain?

Ok... but aren't there a lot of very different advice and points of view among doctors who are PhD and "experts"... Ronda Patrick, all the doctsos experts in the "Diary Of a CEO" podcast, the many other hormone experts, the tv doctors caused of pushing product bc of kickbacks testifying in congress, all the studies saying the multi vitamins and other products do NOT contain what the label says, some say more water, some say move cloves, some say no sugar at all, confusing since fruits have sugar, "well you know we didn't mean it like that" but that is what tehy keep saying, then the docs saying vegetable oils are the issue, the worst of the worst, EXCEPT olive oil, then you got the "enzyme" docs that say it all has to do with enzymes, then you got the hot and cold bath experts saying that is the key bc of a correlations from that to longevity and.... it is endless. eat fruits, eat nuts, eat, tomatoes with that ONE ingredient, which is another subset of docs, the "one secret very important ingredient" that you need or have incredible consequences, then the docs who want you to "exercise" except they differ in what that means, is it half hour walking or lifting weights, and HOW?? eat during these hours, and not before bed, other say it makes no difference, some say this much protein other say it is impossible to eat all the protein you need, so ear all day basically in smaller portions, no say others, one meal is ok, some say the body can only use forty gras of protein at a time, others say no it remains in your gut so you can still use it later, some say sleep like this others say sleep like that, and some say it all has to do with testosterone and sperm counts since they have been declining for fifty years 1% yearly, other docs say yes but the causes differ, some say plastics are the issue and micro plastics in all we eat, never drink from plastic cups, and make sure you eat fresh produce from the farm, others try to convince you you can grow your own food it is super easy, others say the pollution in the air is....
Jesus fking christ... why don't all doctors have a meeting and don't get out until YOU ALL agree on 90% of things?? I don't even hear a doctor contradicting another, like it is some sort of professional courtesy to never say THAT doctor is wrong and this is why, unless the doc is already discredited by someone NOT in the medical profession, then ALL docs pile up on that one doc.

I eat a mostly plantbased diet but realized years ago when I was 100% plantbased that taking b 12 supplements made my face breakout…so now I eat mostly plantbased but a little salmon/tuna/chicken and eat fortified unsweetened soy milk and sometimes fortified cereals(that have b 12). I’m guessing these work for me because it’s smaller amounts of b12. I would rather be plantbased but just can’t take the b12…what do you think is the best choices for me? I take no supplements and just rely on nutritious nutrient dense foods. Thanks!

Find a way to consume b12.

The mistake of this forecast is that fails to understand the individual microbiome comes in many shapes and forms, for instance certain natural foods can be super healthy for some but poison for others, we are not made equal and depends on your genetics and your immune system. Also there is foods that are bad like industrial grains, seed oils rich in omega 6 and sugars which chemicals and processes are involved per example in canning food and processed packet foods terrible for some one who is suffering from arthritis, terrible for children and for anyone who wants to be healthy. Best food it's always the food that comes strait from nature rich organic healthy soils without the adding of ANY artificial chemicals produced by mass industrialised systems involving plastics, artificial fertilisers, chemicals and preservatives including GMO's and there is no moderation in eating that but simply are just bad and addictive FAKE FOODS that sooner or later create disease.

Why is she more credible ? Still after the fame and money under the cover of looking out for their well being and the true info being promoted. What is different in any shape or form with her ? The fact that she pays to a forum of people that give out diplomas and have an opinion on what humans should eat ? How about Nature's opinion and the fact she built humans as tropical super frugivores and we are still exactly that despite all the crap we think is food :) ? She is just another pretty face and sweet voice with a taste for profits and belonging to a select group, right ? Nutritional science is new but also useless. It will never match Nature. Nature made us frugivores and all of those minute differences mean exactly nothing if we were to listen just our instincts and stick to the tropics ;) SO why even bother ? Why use humans as lab rats to learn something we never need to learn ? Just go live in the tropics and eat what is available there ? All of those thousands of parameters of the optimal health and fitness will magically fall in place without any "smart"help from any science, old or new, destructive or not, biased or not = without any defective human input or opinion ;)
