So allow me to share some practical tips that I’ve learned along the way on how you can make the most out of your beauty queen journey even without prior experience -- coming from someone who joined Miss Universe Philippines without “prior formal training” herself. 3 years ago my schoolmates (in the same year level) asked me to represent them in our school pageant, they do some voting and I won their hearts but I ruined the opportunity because of my low self-esteem. I am confident with my public speaking skills because I know I can do well (the reason they chose me) but when it comes to my body, It wasn't the body people expect to see in a usual pageant setting. So I referred my best friend to them and helped her with the Q&A. I was so happy supporting her but there's a "regret" in me. A lot of what-ifs and what-could-have-been. Throughout my college years, the hardest lesson I had to learn is to "Grab every opportunity presented to you, you may not win but the experience you'll get is priceless." So queens, SHOW UP, wear that heels, and aim for the crown. If only Miss Ayn's story happened before, I could have tried my luck. This woman deserves a CROWN. She changed the typical standard of beauty for pageantries and make it a more inclusive one. 🧡
