These comments give me hope. I'm in my 30s now, a college professor. And I tell you, and you should know it: The young today are really, truly BETTER than the people that came before you. You are kinder, more empathetic, and far more brave. You embrace your differences and challenge that which you should not accept. You keep me going and you don't even know it.
That's really nice to hear tbh. A lot if people constantly say how messed up our generation is and how "the 90's were better" and "when I was your age, we would actually go outside". Honestly, I dont know what they are trying to accomplish, it just brings everybody down. Again, it's very nice to hear that from someone, thank you:)

As much as I'd like to agree, frankly I just can't. I'd say we're far more pessimistic, mob-thinking and indoctrinated than others who came before us.
We'll reach our twenties too pampered and idealistic, that the real world hits us ten times harder than previous generations. Not to mention we're the internet generation, which these days seems to be causing far more issues than actually solving them.
idc how late i am and rn i'll prove it. tysm for this, from someone who's scared, who's silently suffering, who's dealing with the horrors of high-functioning anxiety, this rlly helped me think more optimistically about my future, about my family, about my friends, about my life and most importantly, myself. it's helping me have a better opinion of myself and to not think of myself as someone who's worthless, undeserving, unneeded in anybody's life. so thank you very much for this:)

I have a memory of the mix.
I was 18, in my first term at university. I had just met my (now) wife a few days prior and I was ecstatic with life.
I didn't have any friends yet at uni, and so I had the luxury of commuting at any time I wanted, along with going to the city after classes (I live in Sydney Australia).
This one specific day after classes, about 4:30pm I went to the city. It had been raining torrentially all day, grey skies, water everywhere, wet clothes, you know what I mean.
I started playing this mix as I got off the train in the city. I listened to this while the sky was grey, the rain was pelting down, and all the commuters were going about their business. Walking here and there, not interacting, and I knew that each one of them had a unique story to tell, that I would never know.
I made my way to a KFC building, and went up to the second floor, taking a seat by the window. I sat there and watched the people below me. I watched for hours just listening to this mix over and over again. My brain was buzzing, yet it was somehow empty at the same time. I had all the reasons to be content with my life, yet I still felt an apparent emptiness watching the scenes in front of me.
People walking, rain falling, lofi playing. I shed a tear. I was confused as to why, but for some reason it just felt right.

I feel that to sometimes. Sometimes a lot of the time. I think it's because we know we wanna do more, but we're not there yet. We want to be talking to those strangers and we wish things were easier, we wish we fealt completely loved or were just amazing at that one thing we struggle to get good at. However, there's always opportunity, and playlists like this always have a hint of that reminder. Hold onto that, that's what we're here for :") thanks for sharing this, I feel like someone gets it and it means so much

I've been listening to this since it came out nearly 6 years ago and like to come back to it occasionally for the nostalgia. lofi was so small back then with these songs and playlist were barely getting views, so glad lofi got big so lofi artist are getting recognition and more great music is being made

As a child, I used to be super hyperactive always wanting to run around and see the world. It would make my parents complain from how much I wanted to do. Now as teen, during the school holidays, I love chilling out in my room listening to this as im writing, drawing and gaming. Nothing better than lying on my bed with a decent pair of headphones just surrounded by my thoughts and some nice music. Its really nice, Just being a little introverted in the short parts of life where it is acceptable to be. Even if my parents hate it.

Discovered this song when I was such a hopeful young man in college, so full of life as I lived by the beach and had met my first love. Partied every weekend. Life was so beautiful and carefree. Then covid happened and i went through the worst heartbreak of my life. Hard to believe that was 4 years ago. I work full time now, see friends every now and then, live back at home isolated and lonely. I really cannnot tell you how much emotion this song brings me.

Funny how one day I was 16 and in highschool, this playlist changed my life, I used to live under pressure, crunching time for homeworks, being always in a bad mood and worrying too much about the future. Once, after a pretty bad day this little playlist slid into my recommended section and I cried out of pressure while listening to it, but I finally calmed down and the mellow tunes in this video helped me out and made me realize the following. You don't always have to be #1 to finish the race, you just gotta get to the end with a smile on your face and the happiness of being done.
It's impressive how moving music can be, I used to not appreciate music that much before but after discovering Lo-Fi I now listen and enjoy everything I get to hear.

Yo, getting old sucks for the most part. But things just change, they don't necessarily get better or worse, just... different. I've found in my time, (I'm 34) that listening to music from back when I was in high school, or from a video game I played when I was 12 (Ocarina of Time for example) I am instantly transported to that exact time and memory and feel all the feelings I had at that point in time, but at the exact same time I get a massive wave of sadness that, I can never go back, I'll never be 12 again, with no worries haha. But at least I got the memories, or the game that I can play again, or the song I can listen to again and think of those times. I would say one of the worst things you can do as a kid is growing up too fast. Don't be in a rush to go out there and do "adult" stuff, just honestly enjoy your time right now, with the friends you have right now, because in a few years it'll all change wither you wanted it to or not, it's always out of your control, you just gotta accept it and roll with it. Never let anyone tell you that you're too old for something!
