I’m sitting outside at the recovery home I’m at, smoking a cigarette, and listening to this. I’m finally sober. No more heroin. No more sleepless nights. No more battling to stay alive everyday. It’s over. I’m at peace. I missed this feeling so much.
That's fantastic. I'm 40 yrs old and haven't had a drink or drug for 7 yrs. I was in & out of rehab facilities for 5 loooooong, hellish yrs before I finally had enough self-inflicted pain. I first got drunk @ 10 or 11 yrs old, smoked pot & discovered opioids @ 13. It was OVER after that. I tried to not have a sober day from that day until I turned 28, and I STILL kept using & drinking while I was in & out of rehab. I imagine you're much younger than me; please don't make your story as long as mine. If you pick back up, there's a GREAT chance you'll die before reaching my age; you have fentanyl now, unlike when I was in the madness. People were still overdosing, but NOTHING like today. I was taught to ALWAYS *"replay my tape"* when the thought of using/drinking came over me. In other words, through practice, I don't think of the good times; instead, I recall where I was right before entering recovery. That & my ever-growing relationship with my Higher Power (through both prayer, meditation, and ACTION) are what have kept me sober. Expect a rollercoaster of thoughts & feelings, especially at the beginning. Take it 1 *moment* at a time, replay your tape, work on forgiving yourself, show humility & gratitude, and you'll be just fine. I'm praying & rooting for you. With love & sincerity, Patrick

It's been a long time, probably close to a decade, since I've been able to sit down, relax, and read an actual book. I've spent way too long endlessly scrolling through UA-cam or mindlessly reading Reddit comments. Now I'm chilling at my desk reading Out of the Silent Planet by C. S. Lewis and this is the perfect soundtrack to drown out the random noises and distractions and let me focus on reading on this lazy Sunday afternoon.
I always have these long beats on an over 30 hour playlist playing very softly on my outdoor speakers to my house. 24/7, Front and back. It's a perfect way to come home to, and a perfect way to relax.
Spring has sprung early in Brisbane Australia- never in 44 years have we been able to wear a t shirt in August. My birthday month has always been cold and windy. The sun is shining, I’m currently on a walk catching some Vitamin D to up my depleted levels and just enjoy being safe, relaxed and alive.
