Woo hoo congratulations!!! My husband and I had our convalidation ceremony, confirmation, and we received Holy Communion last Saturday!! After about 2 years of praying, learning, and waiting we are finally HOME!!

Yes! The kit was so fun to make with the kids!
This is so helpful! My SIL and i are hoping to take our littles to church most of holy week. We are also doing stations of the cross and activities with them. The quiet time is a great way for reflection and preparation.
We also do a basket Blessing by taking the food we're making for Easter to get blessed by the priest on holy Saturday. My husband is Polish so each thing in the basket is symbolic. Bread, salt, horseradish, eggs, kielbasa, etc. I don't remember everything but it's a great tradition.
I am definitely going to do the French toast casserole you showed us and resurrection rolls!

I went to penitencial service yesterday. It was mass then confessions. 🙏
This Lent has FLOWN by and I cannot believe we’re almost at Holy Week! We will experience our church’s greatest traditions and listen to our church’s most beautiful scriptures and music. Also-if you attend the Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday night, 1) you can break your Lenten fast after Mass and 2) you can avoid the crowds on Easter since the Vigil Mass DOES fulfill your Easter Sunday obligation. (AND maybe even sleep in😊)
Hopefully someday you can take the entire family to the Easter Vigil

Hi! The joyful and sorrowful mysteries are mysteries of Christ's life that we meditate on! They are very beautiful. The 5 joyful mysteries are: the Annunciation when the Angel Gabriel told Mary she would conceive and bear a Son, Jesus, the Visitation and Mary to her cousin Elizabeth, the Nativity, the Presentation of our Lord in the Temple and the Finding of Jesus in the Temple when he was 12 years old.
The 5 sorrowful mysteries are: Christ Agony in the Garden, the Scourging at the Pillar, the Crowing of Thorns, Jesus Carrying of the Cross, and the Crucifixion and death of our Lord on the Cross.i hope this is helpful!
I love how different each country celebrates Holy Week. In my country, the Philippines, we usually do sacrifices called "puasa" and "penitensya". Aside from that, it is our tradition to cook rice porridge during maundy thursday and good friday. We also do visita iglesia during thursday. Visita Iglesia is the visit of 7 churches in your area. Easter Sundays are usually celebrated by going to the beach.

When I finally came to understand the true meaning and value of the Easter Vigil, it became my favorite celebrarion of the liturgical year. It is so special! ❤ I look forward to it so fervently that it has become a little penance to have to miss it with it being so late and long for little ones. 😔
Suggestion; Holy Thursday is more of institution of the Holy Eucharist than washing of the feet.

It's just a fun traditions most Americans do, to surprise our children on Easter morning.
Yes, and we try to keep the gifts meaningful. Good catholic books or videos or prayer cards in addition to eggs and candy.
