    *** CURRENTY THE SITE I USED AND MENTIONED IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE TO EVERYBODY. I AM WORKING ON A SOLUTION AND WILL POST IT HERE WHEN I HAVE AN ANSWER.
    PLEASE REACH OUT TO ME IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE SITE AN CAN ASSIST WITH ANSWERING SOME QUESTIONS.
    The newer rams come factory equipped with auxiliary switches that are almost a plug and play option.
    This model is a 2021 ram 3500, but this video should pertain to all ram truck models around this year. Although this is a 5th gen ram the process is about the same with the 4th gen rams.
    In this video I will show you a step by step process with hints and tricks to hookup and setup your accessories.
    Here's where to find all the wiring info:
    www.ramtrucks....

    please stay till the end of the video so you don't miss out on any important information before you attempt an install.

    After some consideration I’ve decided to purchase the factory harness for this application. If I buy it, would everyone like me to make a video highlighting the install using it? Please comment down below and let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

      Do you have a part number for the harness? would be a lot easier to just plug and play everything.

    If you have the up-fitter option on your vehicle, (which you do) it should have came with a bag full of wires pre-terminated and waterproof specifically for those plugs. If you don’t have this bag, I would highly recommend visiting a dealer to get one.

      @@BuiltbyBurns mine was in the infloor storage bin in the back. Others have found them either under or behind the rear seat. One of the things in the bag is a jumper connector you can use to supply power to a wire that is already run to the rear of the truck from the factory (near the rear bumper). This would let you run a wire from the rear bumper to the pump instead of from under the hood.

      I remember reading that now that you mention it. Thanks for the info. You seem to know quite a bit about these trucks. Like I said In the video, I searched for a while looking for the answers and ended up being more confused than anything. I’m contemplating making a whole new video using the harness for others to see. I will have to order one first though.

    Great video. Thanks for also showing the programming of it. My Dealer thought that the supplied factory harness for the up fitter was a spare trailer harness. And no other dealership knew about the up fitter switches. So thanks again.

    I am still learning how all of this works but I know that you are able to move the relays/fuses around to the appropriate aux switch. You don't have to use Aux 4 just because thats where the 25amp is (I think thats what you mentioned). You can just move them to which Aux switch makes the most sense for what you are trying to power. I am OCD so my front LED light bar will be Aux 1 and Rear spot lights will be Aux 6 etc.

      Should be as simple as running the power wire into the cab to power up the devices. From there you can figure out a way to plug into that power wire and then use the switches to turn them on and off. It’s pretty easy don’t over think it.

      Check under rear seat or in floor cubby holes under floor mats the rear. That is the most common place for it to be located.

      Not if you wire it like this. Its all already in there. Just have to make sure it’s the right size for your application.

      I don’t have access to the site myself either. I’ve been made aware of the issue and I’m working on getting a diagram for everything. When I have it I’ll post in my discription. My apologies.

    What size crimp did you use, I can’t get any of mine to go in at all

    • @BuiltbyBurns
      @BuiltbyBurns  7 місяців тому

      I just used a generic one from auto zone. It was a bit of a tight fit but after a little trimming of the crimped area (remove the cover after crimping) I was able to use a pair of small needle nose pliers to guide it in there. It’s a bit of a fight I won’t lie. But you’ll get it.

      @@BuiltbyBurns I actually found the OEM connectors. It’s apart of the Uplifter package. I had the wires in a bag under the back seats. You just gotta find the right size one then pick a color

    Will this work on a Laramie? I’m trying to add aux lights without drilling into the vehicle

    • @BuiltbyBurns
      @BuiltbyBurns  2 роки тому

      I’m not sure if the outfitter ports are on your vehicle or not to be honest. Pop the hood and see if you have those two grey and light grey connectors on the right side behind that battery. We can go from there.

    • @djwolf37
      @djwolf37 2 роки тому +1

      @@BuiltbyBurns just for future reference, the two grey connectors under the hood come on vehicles both with and without aux switches. Even Basenotes tradesman trucks can be optioned with the auction switches. The fastest way to know if the truck has the option is to look at the dash to see if the switches are their or not. If they are not their you need someone to custom make you a harness, flash the computer to add the programming, and order a couple of factory parts to add them, but this is rather involved.
