YES! It makes it’s messaging even stronger, and just slightly subversive.
I feel lucky to have been able to have experienced Neko both just peripherally as well as live in concert in my lifetime. So deserving of much more publicity than she gets. Belongs w/ names like Patti Smith, Joan Baez, Lucinda Williams, Chrissie Hynde, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Joan Jett & Debbie Harry.

@@michaelpolese3440 I get that Patti Smith is one of the greatest muscians to ever exist, she released "Horses" for Christ's sake. Way ahead of her time, and she's still got it. But, Neko Case has also had a great output. She's an amazing musician. Her work with The New Pornographers is also excellent. Lucinda Williams is also an amazing musician. The others had their ups and downs. Some more forensic than others ups; being overrated in my opinion. Of course, that's my opinion. Of course, we can have our prefences and people are free to criticize them.
I seriously have to say that in my 10 years or so of loving Neko Case, just by proxy and because she is fabulously honest, always a fave, etc....a popular.....and yet, I have never seen this video? seriously? and less than 200 grand have? seriously? what a great song, great concept, she is my all timer list forever.I love you Neko case.

It’s saying 100% the opposite of that. It’s about Neko being a tomboy because she grew up in the 70s/80s when people let tomboys be tomboys without there being a crisis of gender identity or dysphoria. She’s saying only Americans are obsessed with gender, she says animals don’t give a shit. You can read her explanation of it in Rolling Stone. All respect to you and your situation though.

Was so excited to see her, but turned out to be a horrible show. She has a no phone policy now which is fine, but the people at the show were so crazy enforcing it that when my daughter dropped the lid to her water and bent over to grab it security got signaled that we were up to something with our phone. Problem is they couldn’t tell who the guy was signaling them to check out so all 3 rows around got harassed about having their phone out, which nobody did, and if I would have known it was over a water lid at the time I would have pointed out so nobody around us would have had to go through such bs. Then since nobody got in trouble and most the people left the area out of annoyance of the harassment the guy who signaled them in our area was staring at my daughter and I the whole time from then on like we got away with something and he was gonna catch us. Real fun show😒. My daughter felt so uncomfortable she asked to leave early so we did since I was pissed and annoyed. Hey, but at least nobody of the less than 200 people that showed up to the 1000 seat venue took any pictures so I guess it was a successful show for her. What a joke! I hate people videotaping at shows in front of me as well as most people, but it has never ruined my show experience as bad as the over policing of trying to avoid it did. I would have loved to talk about how great she was, but our experience and watching them harass others was too distracting.
