    I agree with you Virginia Refuse Trucks... I live on five acres and have numerous trees.. I haven't raked, bagged or vacuumed leaves for years. All any of these people I see bagging raking and vacuuming leaves have something to learn and the easiest way ever... make a plate to go over the outlet of the mower deck in other words (chute blocker) keeps the leaves from blowing out of mower deck and they get cut up and go back into the grass which is one thing grass wants and needs. If the grass is a little tall like it is here in ohio you probably will get some clumping of the grass in places. All you have to do is when you come back around just go back over the small little clumps and there gone. I sure don't look like this guy being a pac man going back and forth the one way he is what they call dead heading doing nothing but driver back.

    This is exactly how I like to do clean ups, but this year it's been quite wet here in the UK so the blowers have had to be used to get the worst off, then I use a walk behind to tidy the rest up. Just subbed thanks for the vid.

    I have a three blade mulching front deck 42 in 3 inch turn machine (huskavarna rt322 l, 22 hp v2 awd). Charp blades correct high means that you help nature along. No pickup needed.

    You learn something new everyday, this technique of cleaning the leaves was great, easy and fast! Minimal if any blowing was needed.

    Using blowers and either bagging or using a leaf vac to remove leaves is such a waste of time and energy. First year using a chute blocker and I will never go back. Let the machine do the work.

      I live on 4 acres and use a 60" commercial Gravely ZT with a Kawsaki liquid cooled engine. I don't cover the chute and blow everything in a square and then just keep going over it till its in the grass. My belts get hot without covering the chute, I don't think they would make it if I covered the chute. Ground up leaves are as good as any fertilizer, if you ever try to buy it it's higher than gold!

    thats a good technique but when you have a lawn with 2” of leaves that takes forever 3 guys with husqvarnas 580bts and is done faster... for little bit of leaves is great i also find out the machine mulches more when in reverse just be careful with the leaves piling up as they cag get by exhaust and get on fire.

    I have both a side discharge and mulching mower. Which might be better for taller piles of leaves? I seem to like the side discharge better because it seems to push out what it cant handle. Just finished round one with the deck all the way up. Do you mulch at regular cutting height or up a bit?

    Given the effectiveness of that zero-turn machine and its ability to move leaves around, I think with a little more thought, you could focus more on making them thar stripes really parallel and precise, making sure not to cross over the pattern like you did by the swing set in the back, and leave your client even more blown away than his leaves. To me, killer stripes is (are) the key.

  • @Browns4life
    @Browns4life 5 років тому

    That's a lot of going over the same areas...not good for the yard and can make ruts...you should try making a pass and then just making another pass right next to it, but driving in reverse...takes some talent...keep doing this until you get the leaves where you want them then mulch em up...quicker this way too...In the fall I don't worry so much about the pretty stripes.

    • @TheCamaro5
      @TheCamaro5 4 роки тому

      I think his grass could care less its super thick and as long as its not wet he wont make ruts obviously. Also going backwards its slow and going back over the yard to get stragglers helps. Stripes are always a plus.

      I would disagree. Best yards i have seen never mulch. Mulch will keep the yard looking thin and becuase of the brown color make it look half dead.
