Keep going brother you are such a good guy you are having my support from nyabohanse village pap Kenya 🇰🇪 we love you so much my friend... you are the real King of Africa not the fake king of the Swamp Villa God bless you and keep you safe 💛❤️💚
We have a swizzle stick in Limpopo Province of South Africa and in Sepedi we call it Lefehlo. We use it for cooking bogobe or pap as they call it in Afrikaans.
The beach is really clean, with your expertise in portraying the beauty of Tobago, food and the people I know I am gonna learn a lot again ,thank you 🙌
😂😅😊Maya another awesome video, you are so hilarious, keep taking cooking lessons😊😅😊love you son!!and keep taking Africa to the world, especially to all your African ancestors, we love and appreciate you. God bless you ❤️
It was part of the culinary tradition in our grandparents days and before . It is called a lele stick locally. My grandmother would go to a tree and make one from a small branch.
Wow ! This is awesome.. ! I love it...But I can't imagine you spent that much time on our beautiful island of Tobago and I did not get the chance to meet you ... Too bad, hopefully next time around.... Love all of it ... Sweet Tobago...! Maya and company thank you for showcasing our beautiful island to the world❤❤❤❤ Please, come again ...
Thank you Wodemaya, you literally stayed in the midst of my community. Love how you capture the Heritage, the people, history, and landscape. I was wondering how come I didn't see your videos after being here so long, but now I understand, perfection at best. Hopefully, one day, I will see you to thank you personally. Awsome Job brother, keep up the wonderful work you are doing. Hope when our airport commission we have a direct flight to West Africa 😊.
Maya your fans are always excited to see your videos and I'm looking and sharing your videos to my friend near and far. Brooklyn New York is in the house 🙏🏽❤️☮️🇹🇹🇺🇸👍
Our sorrel is the same as what's called Bissap or hibiscus flower in West Africa. It's just a different type than the variety that we typically use as decorative plant in the Caribbean but they're the part of the same family.
@ayotalsamoth6867 it's native to India..I've heard about a hibiscus flower drink also , not the 'sorrel" variety..so I was assuming that it was being conflated with the sabdariffa variety which we call sorrel..
Wode Maya, I hope that you do end up building/ buying a home in Tobago. Btw, most Tobagonians have Ghanaian ancestry so you'll be especially home in Tobago. 😊
No it’s not! We use to make that toffee he was referring too it is very hard and sweet,I had it back in the 90s but maybe the guy cooking never had it. Fudge is similar but not the same as the toffee, fudge is softer and sometimes grainier. The toffee he is referring too is usually hard and gets soft with heat.
Is Harvest Gawd married😅ow gosh I could marry a man who can cook I love it! ❤❤❤❤❤Sweet hand and sweet lips too hmmmmmmm somebody send me his number asap i want to marry this man today! I am moving from Trinidad to Tobago in the morning!
The video is edited, how do you know for certain?? They film for 5 to 6 hours and edited down to 30 mins so just like the movies, 95% of the film is left on the cutting room floor.
I could tell you when it comes to food, the people of Trinidad and Tobago take cleanliness seriously. Even with the people selling street food, there is always a dedicated person collecting money. The person cooking the food does not handle the money for sanitary reasons. So I am sure they made sure all hands were washed in this video

We have a swizzle stick in Limpopo Province of South Africa and in Sepedi we call it Lefehlo. We use it for cooking bogobe or pap as they call it in Afrikaans.
We also use it Trinidad and Tobago to make smoothie and porridge. Practically before we used blenders it was the main thing to blend food😊
The traditional stick is made from a small branch. It is called a lele. The swizzle stick became popular just a few generations ago.
Crystal clear Ocean ❤❤❤

In The Gambia west Africa gets that twisting traditional stick for cooking
It was part of the culinary tradition in our grandparents days and before . It is called a lele stick locally. My grandmother would go to a tree and make one from a small branch.

Wide
Say us correct, the sorrel is a type of hibiscus flower❤
Not our sorrel in T&T...no way close..and we know about hibiscus here.
Sorrel is Hibiscus sabdariffa (it is a type of hibiscus & belongs to the hibiscus family). If you do the research you will see.
@@Trinavarait is the same thing! You need to be informed and I am from Trinidad the drink originated in Africa!
@ayotalsamoth6867 it's native to India..I've heard about a hibiscus flower drink also , not the 'sorrel" variety..so I was assuming that it was being conflated with the sabdariffa variety which we call sorrel..
