Another great video! You guys are with me every step of the way.
65 straight inline 6... grandpas first car coming back to life.
Always fun pulling an engine. Looking forward to seeing the 6 cylinder rebuild
Had mine (200 cu in in my 64 'Chero) re-built "professionally", a few years ago. Strong and smooth, nice with the 5 speed (from early 2000's 'Stang) behind it, runs well/fast on freeways. Good little engine; not quite "bullet proof", but close!!
2 things, first Mach1 Please and second I'd had a cutting torch and chop that tranny out and the core suport so the motor would have just slid right out the front :) And the Mustang Mach 1 PLEASE!!!
LOL. The Mach is in the Que over on Autorestomod. Probably in two weeks we'll jump back on it. The Camaro gets mirrors, and then the Mach comes in for some engine TLC. There, now I have given away my game plan for the next few weeks. LOL
@@AutoRestoMod Sweet! Have you thought about putting 427 SOHC motor in the Ranchero?? :) back in the day we built a 67' Fairlane with a 427 SOHC and that was a sweet 'Grocery Getter' :)
One of the hardest things of dealing with projects is you find yourself figuring out ways to get around other people's hack jobs. In my line of work 50% of my job is fixing stuff other people "fixed"...it's a living.
This kinda reminds me of "working on my" '64 'Chero restoration! Me: Logan...……. All my car guy friends: Logan's dad!! :D LOL.
Good job !!!
Great chatting today Jeff. I was hoping this was a NORMAL engine pull for some reference on the one I have to do..yeah...ummmm...no...At least you show how "creative" people can be...LOL
We'll do the "normal" pull on the hardtop. It has been relatively unmolested...well, until we get started on it...
I had fun stuffing a 454 into a 74 nova. Had to pull it twice because mounts and wrong size oil pan. Can wait to trade this for a 64/65 falcon.
Cant wait to see more of this project, especially as you get into sheet metal. I have a 65 falcon 2 door sedan that I'm collecting parts for.
Take a couple links out of the chain on the hoist, your wasting a good amount of lift having all that chain between the hook and arm.
Yeah, I realized that too late. 😆
Mustang Mach 1, please!
It will be up over on Autorestomod in the next two weeks.
My 63 ranchero is a 6cyl car as well. I have a 90 Ford ranger that I plan on using the v6 engine and 5 speed manual hdy clutch. I got the 4 lug front disks from Summit. the Ranger is also supplying the rearend as well for its disk brakes. The AC unit will be going in as well. My Fllors look like yours when I started. They are cut out and will be replaced with 65 mustang ones trimmed to fit. I will be following
They have the full Falcon floor available now. We're going to get that and cut it up for use.
If Cam wants to turbo the 200, I'll let him do mine! 81 200 in a 62 comet, w/c4, big comp cam, hei, 8.8 with 355s
LOL If you were local....
I'm looking forward to seeing the v8 go in. I'd like to see how the throttle linkage goes together. Someone put a Lokar pedal and cable in my 63 comet and I'm not really happy with it. Do you know if a mustang pedal and linkage will work?
No, I don't think so, BUT we have one and might try it! Good idea!
Thanks for the vid. Doing similar stuff on my 64 260. What trans are you going to do?
The Ranchero will be getting the three speed from the Falcon hardtop. The hardtop will be getting a full Modern Driveline front shift five speed.
Logan did as much as you let him do.
There were things that made me uncomfortable with the removal. Don't worry, he'll get his chance.
I'll give you a free pass on this episode because we know there is someone there running the camera, but you should always have help when pulling an engine with an hydraulic hoist. It's very dangerous, especially when you have it up that high. I've seen the ram let go, seen them tip over. Otherwise informative and entertaining as usual.
Yep. You are right Robert. I was muscling through and should have used my head a little better.
@@AutoRestoMod right, use it or lose it! I always used jack stands with a floor jack. Safety 101!!
