My Grandpa worked on the Titan IVB. He was involved with the gas generators for nozzle vectoring on the SRBs, up to 3 degrees in either direction. I think he was fairly important in the process, as he says he was the guy always getting stared at during the launches, something to the effect of "you had better not screw this up." As for Titan V upgrades, I would imagine a Barbarian-type diameter increase would be considered. Perhaps to 15 and eventually 20 feet, and more LR-87s on the first stage, a total of 4 for 15 feet and 5 for 20 feet. Perhaps the second stage could get a second LR-91 for the 20-foot version.
I tried posting two comments trying to show that there was a Titan V with increased diameter, but thanks to UA-cam they got deleted or are not being shown to me within a minute of posting them. There were a similar set of designs in the 1990s which directly preceded the SLS and were very similar in concept. Martin proposed an alternative, Titan V, with 6m diameter core tank and a Pratt+Whitney 4500kN engine.
With Barbarian being mentioned in my comment, maybe consider modelling some of the Barbarian proposals. I always associate the name with the Titan version, but there are a bunch of wacky vehicles with that name. Like the Delta II with six Delta II first stages as LRBs and three Space Shuttle SRBs next to those.
Your Titan V "More Boosters" variant somehow reminds me of the Conestoga. Anyways, great video. I would have expected your channel to be way bigger for that kind of quality!
For those interested, aparently in Startrek first contact, the Phoenix was launched on a 'Titan V' (mainly because they used a decommissioned Titan II for the set). My head cannon is that the 'Titan V' there is either Cochrane's designation for a Titan II with the Phoenix as an upper stage, or it's a fictional top secret ballistic missile developed from the Titan IV
I think the focus would be on reducing cost for a Titan V, so a kerolox booster, completely scrapping the hypergols because that’s the result of most of the expense and extremely outdated booster design, maybe having just one hydrolox upper stage and more smaller boosters to get more versatile capability, but then you’ve basically got an atlas V clone, and atlas was a better foundation to build this kind of vehicle off of anyway so that’s why they chose it, but seeing how much they evolved delta IV, this makes a Titan V seem possible
I know some have already mentioned in this the comments, but the Martin Marietta's "Barbarian" rocket was considered as a potential Titan V. It used an all hypergolic core with solids, rather than the liquid rocket concept you created in this video. Do you plan to recreate the Barbarian?
The cost per launch figure might be the marginal cost for one additional Titan IV launch, so not including the development cost. Would explain it being lower than your estimate.
I genuinely thought this was a video from a new 100k+ UA-camr dude you have huge potential
Absolutely my thought too!
@@zehfox2719 I third this motion

Love the voice commentary.
holy crap i could of sworn that I was watching a 1m sub channel, no 77 subs, the quality here is insane. you have well earned yourself a like and sub

Look, I'm not really into Sonic. But just for this video and this video alone. I liked, subscribed, and rung the bell

Great work :D
Dude you earned my sub. I can’t believe your under 1000 subs! Terrific video, I’d love to see you do more in KSP
I really enjoyed this. Could be a really cool series.
keep it up👍
Great stuff! 👍
"I head you like Titan Vs so I attached some Titan Vs to your Titan V."
That might actually work though...
Amazing video I wonder if an upgrade would just be newer engines and srbs:3
Please keep making ksp videos I genuinely thought you had at least 10k so much potential
Wow, a New ksp realism overhaul youtuber

this is such good content!!!! I really want to see more of this!
To think starship will get 100 tonnes to Leo while using a fully reusable system is bonkers
THIS IS AN AWESOME VIDEO 👍
this is fucking amazing u deserves more subs
Cool!
hi
Could we get a mod list? Looks like a solid install.
I cheated and used CKAN,
Basically, started with KSP v1.12.3, set CKAN to be compatible with v1.11, and just used CKAN's RP-1 Express Install
@@PorridgePalexAlex I wouldn't call this cheating... shouldn't this be the standard procedure now?
Please make more vids on KSP RSS RO !!
0:29 Falcon 9 is not fully expendable, the first stage is recovered so it is half reusable
He meant to get the same payload as Titan IV you’d need to expend
the obvious move would be swap the engines to Kerolox and use 4 boosters
It might have worked better with a single lr 89 hydrolox, save on the dry mass and use that burn time.
pretty cool video btw how did you get the ground to have liek cities and stuff
The city lights came as part of the RSS Visual Enhancements
@@PorridgePalexAlex have you tried Katniss' Cape Canaveral?
An interesting video to watch. Can you share your mode list ? And which ksp version you're using? Thank you so much.
I *think* the KSP version was 1.12.3, the mod was just the RP-1 Express Install through CKAN
If you keep making space videos that'll take off bro
You forgot to put ro/rss in the title
Make a Titan VI
Combine Both Ideas
BRO PLEAS SOMEONE TELL ME THE MODS
anglaise please ?
