Should we state whether a meeting or event was in person or virtual?

I would not spend any space on that, unless you think that it is relevant for some reason. Good Luck!

Check out my community tab where I surveyed you all to see what length of CV is appropriate for applicants. You can see most people agreed that a 2 pager is ideal for most candidates. What questions do you have about your CV for your genetic counseling grad school app? And how's it going guys?

Hi Katie! In your opinion, what is the most valuable experience on a CV? My concern is having strong enough hard science exposure through internships and lab work. I have many experiences in education and advocacy and will spend the next year pursuing GC exposure experiences. What do you think about this type of applicant? How could I show my knowledge in science? My Bachelors is in Behavioral Neuroscience.

@@rachaeldugan2025 Hey Rachel! Thanks for watching. It sounds like you are on the right track. I think advocacy and GC exposure are the most important categories. Many many applicants do not have any wet lab or science exposure besides coursework so I really wouldn't fret about that. With your major, assuming you have good grades in the prerequisites required by grad programs (biochem, genetics, etc) I would definitely just focus energy on GC exposure, rather than hard science, as you are planning. Good luck!

Very helpful video. Thank you so much. Do you have advice how to list GC exposure list. I did a bullet point, Is a sentence preferred? Like saying I learn this, I get an insight..., get a better understanding....., I don't know what is the preferred way of writing such exposure on CV

I think a bullet point is perfect! For GC exposures like shadowing a GC you could just have a bullet point with the GCs name, the specialty or job type, and the number of hours. Depending on how many exposures you have I would adjust the length or details included. If you have a lot of different experiences include shorter descriptions if you only have a few it would be appropriate to include more detail, maybe 2-3 bullet points about each.

@@katieleecgctalksgeneticcou6248 Thank you for the advice, Your video does really help applicants like me. I appreciate your work. Lastly, for informational interview, I did 4 gc counselor virtually. when including that In CV, is it okay to generalize in bulletpoint form in what I learn from the session or individually or just add their name and the hour, and speciality?
